The article IMac (Apple silicon) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:IMac (Apple silicon) and Talk:IMac (Apple silicon)/GA2 for issues which need to be addressed. Hello, this notice is for everyone who took part in the 2023 RfC on lists of airline destinations. I have started a new RfC on the subject. Hi David. A newish editor has moved [[Sieges of Berwick (1355 and 1356) without any discussion. Actually, they have moved Talk:Sieges of Berwick (1355 and 1356) to Talk:Sieges of Berwick (1355-1356), which has caused its own problems. Plus it is in the middle of an FAC. The combination has made me reluctant to attempt to undo them. So I was wondering if you, with your almighty admin tools, could sort it out? No, no, that's fine; no need to thank me. The article IMac (Apple silicon) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:IMac (Apple silicon) for comments about the article, and Talk:IMac (Apple silicon)/GA2 for the nomination. Well done! If the article is eligible to appear in the "Did you know" section of the Main Page, you can nominate it within the next seven days. Hi there, I saw you on the FAC mentor page, where you mentioned your interest in media. Let me introduce you to a quintessential part of media history - One Direction. The boy band is considered one of the best-selling and most successful music acts in the world, have been attributed towards forming part of the new "British invasion" in the United States, and their impact on fan hysteria has had them compared to The Beatles and Beatlemania. I am looking forward to promoting this article to FA by the band's 15th anniversary this July, so all help is appreciated. Thank you! :) jolielover♥talk 15:59, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there! I'm not at all new to reading edit histories and talk pages (to understand why large edits were made, and to understand suggestions for future edits) but I'm a bit new to actually editing myself. I'm specifically looking at the Eve Online article+talk, and noticed that it had been nominated for GA way back when, and you were the one who basically said "not right now". Looking at the article's more recent talk as well as discussion on your "GA on Hold" notification (here), as well as the current state of the article, it appears that many of the issues you noted have been addressed, the main exception being the numerous "Citations Needed" tags. Once I hit 4d of this account existing (for autoconfirm - the article is under Semi-Prot) I'll start finding adequate sources for those tags and adding them, but I'd be curious to see if there are any other issues you notice right off the bat that would disqualify the article from GA - I feel the article is generally well-written and comprehensive, and I am interested in re-nominating it for GA once the citation issues are addressed.
Thanks for your time. Alligator0323 (talk) 18:36, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, and apologies for this random message. I have a source-related question. I am currently rewriting the Satsu (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) article for a potential FAC, and I was wondering if Slayage: The Online Journal of Buffy Studies would be considered an appropriate source for the FAC process? This journal was discussed on the WP:RSN in this 2024/2025 discussion, but the focus was more on using it as a means to establish notability for an article. That discussion seemingly had a consensus that the journal was reliable, but I am not sure if that would be applicable to the FAC process, which has stricter guidelines on sources.
For reference, here are the about pages (here and here) and the page on the editorial oversight and policies (here and here). Here are two examples of articles that I would use (here and here). It seems that most of the articles from this journal were removed from their website, which is why the examples that I have linked are archives from the Internet Archive. Most of the articles on Google Scholar are these weird download links from the University of North Alabama, likely made because the articles were removed from the main journal website. It could be because of the controversies surrounding Joss Whedon. I could see if the Google Scholars one are available on the Internet Archive, as this site seems well-archived there, but I wanted to wait first before putting any significant time or energy into it.
Apologies for the long message. I just wanted to give you as much background as possible. Would Slayage be considered a high-quality source by FAC/FA standards? I thought that I should reach out to you since you would know better than anyone, given your position as a FAC coordinator. Aoba47 (talk) 02:36, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I went through and reformatted a lot of the refs to modern standards, and fixed a few bits. However it has a huge problem in that big parts of it are unsourced, particularly a few plot bits but mostly voice actor credits. Any idea how fixable it is? Kung Fu Man (talk) 06:17, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi David! I saw your comment on Cher's FAC page and wanted to check in. There are currently three supports and no opposes, so I thought we were making progress. I'd really appreciate any advice on what I can do to keep this from being archived. Thanks! Cherfc (talk) 23:01, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Changed to "Support" ... don't see any remaining issues that would prevent promotion to FA. Noleander (talk) 00:06, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello again. Apologies for the message. An IP editor has made some rather large changes to the Kes (Star Trek) article with the following edit. I did not think that it was an improvement, and the biggest issues that I have with the edit are the changes made to linking. I had reverted their edit, but they have undone my edit so I left them a message on their talk page to hopefully clarify my points and engage in a conversation. I am going to wait for their response before doing anything, but I wanted to reach out to you on advice on how to best proceed with this type of situation. I want to be cautious and patient to avoid starting an edit war or any other issues while also being open to other editor's opinions. Do you have any advice for this kind of situation? I would just like to double-check that I am on the right path. I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Aoba47 (talk) 21:06, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi David, I hope you are doing well. I have been trying to get the coords' attention on my current FAC since at least March 8th now, which was about a week ago. I have grown concerned since GTM, who has been extremely helpful with promoting my recent string of nominations, became recused on it. The subject matter is not that different from a Taylor Swift song you promoted in January or the Cher bio which was promoted recently, which made me conscious of the fact that a big majority of my nominations are not getting coordinated by you. I wanted to understand if you perceive a quality deficit in my work, think my nominations are not scrutinized enough, or if it is just a complete coincidence that others happen to close them before you get around? Could you help me out with this?--NØ 19:59, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The iMac G4 is an all-in-one personal computer produced by Apple Computer from January 2002 to August 2004. It comprises a hemispheric base that holds the computer components and a flatscreen liquid-crystal display (LCD) mounted above. The computer, first released in 1998, helped save Apple from bankruptcy. Development of the iMac G4 took roughly two years, with Apple's designers exploring multiple ways of marrying the display screen with the computer components. Its shape was inspired by a sunflower, with the display connected to the base via an adjustable stainless steel arm that allows the monitor to be freely tilted and swiveled. The product was a critical and commercial success for Apple, selling more than 1.3 million units in its first year, and it was updated with faster components and larger displays before being replaced by the iMac G5 in September 2004. The machine is held in the collections of multiple museums including the Museum of Modern Art and Museums Victoria. (Full article...)

Hi David - I hope all's well with you. I recently bumped up Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me to GA and I'm considering a FAC run. My understanding is that it's recommended to recruit a mentor for one's first FAC run, and I saw that you've offered to assist with film articles. I've read your FA advice essay on your page and I think the FWWM article follows the guidelines you've provided. As for more granular pointers, if you have time to mentor/ comment/ assist in any way, I'd really appreciate it. Even broad strokes would be helpful. Thank you! Thank you today for IMac G4, introduced: "What do you do after you've released a bulbous, candy-colored, translucent personal computer that totally redefines what PCs look like? If you're Apple, you made a rather wild jump to a stark white, opaque computer similar to a Luxo lamp (though the similarity to R2-D2 was also noted.) Thank you today for Edward Drinker Cope, introduced (in 2009, about when I joined): "Imagine, if you will, a time when white men with lots of money and facial hair traveled the country and ruined their health, all for the love of some old rocks? His personal feud with one Othniel Charles Marsh resulted in the greatest expansion of American paleontology ever: the entire United States wasn't big enough for the two of them. Read on, chaps."! - I imagine ;) - Imagine, I have a FAC open, and it's Bach's day of death (mentioned OTD), for which I decorated my user pages ;) Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:10, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
