How we will see unregistered usersHi! You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki. When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed. Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help. If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter. We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January. Thank you. /Johan (WMF) 18:13, 4 January 2022 (UTC) 3RRYou know I wasn't the one violating 3RR.--Halofo (talk) 00:45, 8 January 2022 (UTC) TFA
Thank you today for Power Mac G4 Cube, introduced: "In the late 90s, Apple Computer was on the brink of bankruptcy, until they brought back old cofounder Steve Jobs. Jobs relentlessly pruned Apple's product line and brought the company back to prosperity. But in between the saga of hits like the iMac and the iPod... there was the Power Mac G4 Cube, a commercial failure so sudden that the product was discontinued barely a year later, and remained arguably one of Jobs' greatest missteps in his time back at Apple."! - Happy New Year! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:35, 9 January 2022 (UTC) Your GA nomination of BioShock 2The article BioShock 2 you nominated as a good article has passed FA review on Jabba the HutI have nominated Jabba the Hut for a featured article review here. Does yours pass? FA mentorHey! Saw you on the FAC mentor list, and you mentioned "film". I'm planning to make the article To Fly! a FAC; it had recently been listed as GA. I'm firm that it has passed the criteria for neutral, stable, policy, you know the usual guidelines... but I'm not sure especially on 1a; this was the one which mainly made my past two FACs fail, and I was wondering if you could help me review the article on this (and per the other criteria if possible) to make sure at least the prose is ready for FAC. Thanks! GeraldWL 17:02, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
Peer review requestHello, I have listed the article for the video game Fallout for peer review. The purpose is to collect feedback for the article before a potential featured article candidacy. So far, there hasn't been much feedback; only one person has left feedback on the review back on March 2, 2022. Considering you are listed on the featured article mentors list, I was wondering if you could be able to take a look at the article and leave your feedback on the peer review. I would much appreciate it. Lazman321 (talk) 01:17, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

List of Halo characters?Recently you deleted an entire section in the article "List of Halo characters > Characters in the TV/Silver Timeline canon" or whatever the section was called. Yeah, the show was only 1 season so far and I guess there is the main page for the show, but with at least a second season set to start filming, and plans for the show to have multiple seasons, I guess it's a matter of "let's see how long the show runs until it's notable enough to add this section"? At least a token description of the new alternative timeline characters would fit, since their characterizations isn't expanded upon the main show page, or waiting until the show gains more seasons to do so? It's fully sourced to reliable sources, and I've brought it in line with every other possible guideline, policy, and other site consensuses I can think of. However, at its core, the case concerns child sexual abuse and child pornography. The case and everything involved is well and thoroughly cited, but the names and circumstances of both the victim (of their own volition) and their perpetrator were also widely published. Also, articles on this subject have apparently been deleted in the past (CSD & AFD), though I obviously cannot know their contents or context. I've been here long enough to remember the (probably appropriate) on-site panic about such topics and those who edit them (and the formation of WP:PAW), and I do not want to be the subject of similar. As an administrator, would you be willing to take a look at the article and provide feedback on (a) its propriety, (b) any possible push-back, (c) any edits that need to be made, and (d) how it compares to the already deleted pages for likelihood of retention.
