Jenis-Jenis Jaringan Komputer

Komputer saat ini menjadi salah satu piranti elektronik yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari kita, terutama dalam lingkungan pekerjaan, Hampir sebagian besar pekerjaan kantor pasti membutuhkan perangkat komputer untuk memudahkan pekerjaan yang tidak bisa dilakukan oleh manusia. Bagi kamu yang sudah terbiasa dengan bidang tersebut ataupun bekerja di lingkungan komputer jaringan pasti sudah tidak asing dengan jenis-jenis tersebut.

1. LAN (Local Area Network)

Jaringan LAN berfungsi untuk menghubungkan perangkat jaringan dalam kondisi jangkauan yang relatif kecil. LAN juga menyediakan teknologi jaringan wireless dengan menggunakan WIfi dan lebih dikenal dengan WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network).

2. MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)

MAN adalah jenis jaringan komputer yang menghubungkan dua atau lebih jaringan LAN di dalam kota yang sama.

3. WAN (Wide Area Network)

WAN juga bisa dibilang sebagai kumpulan LAN yang tersebar secara geografis.Perangkat jaringan yang disebut router menghubungkan LAN ke WAN.

4. PAN (Pearson Area Network)

Sama seperti jaringan LAN, jenis jaringan komputer PAN biasanya mencakup wilayah yang lebih kecil seperti misalnya jaringan rumah atau kantor. Biasanya jenis jaringan ini digunakan untuk berbagi resources seperti Internet atau printer.

5. CAN (Campus Area Network)

CAN bisa dibilang mirip dengan jenis jaringan komputer MAN, tetapi terbatas pada universitas atau akademi.Jaringan ini biasanya disiapkan untuk kegiatan pendidikan seperti pembaruan kelas, praktik lab, email, ujian, pemberitahuan, dan lain lain

6. Internet

Internet adalah jaringan komputer terbesar yang pernah diciptakan oleh manusia. Ruang lingkup dari internet mencakup hampir seluruh penjuru dunia. Siapapun dapat mengakses berbagai sumber informasi dalam berbagai perangkat komputer,smartphone, laptop, dan lain sebagainya.

7. Vpn

VPN adalah solusi untuk menyediakan koneksi Internet yang aman.Sebagai contoh, sebuah perusahaan memiliki dua kantor; satu di Jakarta dan lainnya di Bandung.Dalam hal ini perusahaan dapat menggunakan VPN untuk menghubungkan kedua kantor tersebut.VPN membuat jalur aman di Internet dan bisa digunakan untuk transmisi data.
