Hello Lucy, this is just to appreciate your sharing on the knowledge circle. I have always been interested in creating spaces and engagement for women (researches online). I wish to create articles for women. I love Wikipedia most amongst all the Wikimedia project, probably because I love research. My issue will be seeking the list of women to create. It is my pleasure to nominate Editor Lajmmoore to be this weeks Editor of the Week. This user has been a Wikipedian for just under two years, but in that time has created over 200 articles in English Wikipedia. Their start in life on Wikipedia doesn't seem to have been the easiest: their first two articles were deleted, but they were not put off, and rose above initial problems (with some [help from me]) to successfully recreate those articles and to create many more since with no difficulties. They have focused their efforts on extending Wikipedia's biographical coverage of women from the Global South, helping to correct a well known bias in Wikipedia's coverage. Where I have seen their editing work, I have been very impressed at their ability to track down and assimilate reliable information about important figures about whom information is not readily available on the Internet, including dealing with source materials in languages other than English (e.g. Aïcha Ben Abed, Paulina (wife of Pammachius), Fatima al-Suqutriyya). They have done their editing work in particular through active involvement in Women in Red (along with other projects), and notices on their talk page evidence a string of successes in getting pages they have created onto 'did you know?', again bespeaking their enthusiastic engagement with the wider Wikipedia community. I note too that they are doing a PhD and are contributing material to Wikipedia in the course of their research: User:Lajmmoore/PhD Research. I've had many PhD students of my own and, while all lovely people, they are uniformly fabulously reluctant to share their knowledge in this way. Lajmmoore points the way towards a more open future for academia, and a greater willingness among the gatekeepers of the world's knowledge to share it.

Not sure if this is the sort of thing that might be up your alley, but a couple of years ago I purchased this catalogue from the National Museum of Women in the Arts gift shop:

Philippa Glanville; Jennifer Faulds Goldsborough; National Museum of Women in the Arts (U.S.) (1990). Women Silversmiths, 1685–1845: Works from the Collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Thames and Hudson. ISBN 978-0-500-23578-2.

I've pretty well bled it dry of all the women in NMWA's collection (they claim to have the most extensive collection of silver by women silversmiths of any museum, which I quite believe), but there are a lot of other names listed, in case you ever want to follow it up. Not sure about notability, unfortunately, but at least it's a starting point.

A search on Google in English and Farsi clearly reveals that I am not a self-claimed thinker and artist as my biography has been published in the media. Moreover, several authors have published it in their books and many reviews on my works have also been published in journals. Some of these sedondary sources are available on the Web. The reason why this person with a hidden IP has published this false information about me on Wikipedia is that I have worked in different fields. Fifthcoastbobcat, Congratulations! I remember you mentioning this page - so excellent its live! The library website link looks good to me - they are a trusted sources (I think). My other pro tip is to find sources using a search via Google Books, or Google Scholar. A quick scholar search showed https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1300/J082v30n02_03 & https://www.jstor.org/stable/40545573 - lmk if you've got issues accessing them! Hi, I have discovered the article binabinaaine and add some minor infos from a Gilbertese point of view (te aine means simply the woman in Gilbertese, same word fafine in Tuvaluan). Thank you for contributing the page on my grandmother, Dorothy B. Waage. She was a very cool lady with many stories of her adventures across the Middle East. In fact, she first met my grandfather on a train in Egypt one such journey. As a young woman traveling alone in the 1930s! I am glad that her work is remembered and used by scholars today. I believe I noticed when I reviewed a couple of your articles that you were using the {{Translated page}}, and under most other circumstances, that would be perfectly fine from the standpoint of Wikipedia procedure. What's the topic? what I would also say is that Wikipedia relies on references and citations to support the information and steer readers to find out more. if there are no sources, as you say, it sounds like original research. Hi @Czeus25 Masele - it's a tricky question, because I don't know how the notability criteria compare between Swahili wiki and English wiki e.g. one might be higher than the other, since there is variation between Wikipedias. Hi @Sharmaji8 - thanks for the message - I took a look at the article and you can't just use the official website as a source. You need to find secondary sources about the department to demonstrate its notability. Hi @Dineshdhiman26 thanks for the messages - like you I am a volunteer so can't always answer a message immediately. Unfortunately I agree with the article assessors - you need to supply reliable, secondary sources as citations that demonstrate that the conference is worthy of inclusion. Currently the draft does not. If its not been written about by secondary sources, then its unlikely it will be accepted. In addition, if you're organising the conference, then also writing an article for it would be a major conflict of interest (see WP:COI) and would not be appropriate editing. Hi @ArtAngel2025 - the first thing to do is create a user page and declare that you have a conflict of interest with the article. Writing a Wikipedia article for a parent is a conflict of interest, see WP:COI. All the declaration needs to be is a statement on your user page for now. Secondly, every single sentence in the article has to be referenced by reliable, secondary sources. These can be newspapers, academic articles, reviews, see WP:RS for guidance. Hi Lucy, Very nice to meet you. It's taken me a while to find my way around Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia as a contributor, and now as a fledgling editor.

I've just read your bio and I'm floored that someone so experienced and accomplished has been assigned as my mentor. Honestly, I'm honored for the opportunity to learn from you.

I've intentionally kept a low profile in the months since creating my account because I didn't wish to burden anyone. I've since learned how to use the image up-loader, and how to incrementally improve the meta data associated with the images I've posted.

My focus has obviously been peace symbols and expanding the category started by Gerald Holtom, based on the remarkable coincidence that Lagrange Points, a universal physical principal, would resemble Holtom's iconic work. And while I've received pushback from friends for the rather grandiose title, the fact that a peace sign has always been schematically present in every planetary system in the Universe suggests it's a rational choice.

My only question is: Are there find-ability improvements or corrections I can make for the images posted to Wikimedia Commons for anyone interested in peace signs?

I've found the only way to get a Google or AI search request to return any of the 'Universal Peace Sign' images is this ridiculously explicit search request:

   "Universal Peace Sign, JerryScotts, Wikimedia Commons"

I've even had to argue with ChatGPT and other AI's that an actual universal peace sign (or symbol) now exists.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello @User83942 thanks for your enthusiasm about contributing to Wikipedia. I took a look at the draft, but unfortunately I don't think the artist is notability enough for inclusion on Wikipedia, see WP:NOTABILITY. Even if they were, the infomation in the article needs to be evidenced by reliable secondary sources, see WP:RS. None of the sources used in the article support the claims, OR aren't reliable sources. For example citing Wikipedia for Arlighton does not prove that the subject of the sentence was born there. The article claims that the artitst "sits at the top of the Latin Billboard charts" but if I follow the link https://www.billboard.com/c/music/latin/ this doesn't mention the artist at all. If you think the sources exist, please do add them to the end of every sentence in the article. Once you've done this there's more to do! The article is extravagant in its praise - Wikipedia doesn't host text like this - everything has to be written from a neutral point of view, see WP:NPOV or even WP:PUFFERY. You'd need to remove all the hyperbolic language in the article. I hope this helps and that you can find a way to contribute, even if it is not with this article.
