User talk:JerryScottsUniversal Peace SignHi. A bit more on the universal peace sign. Over on commons, you uploaded the peace sign as your own work, so I assume that you were its creator. Anyone can upload a file they've made to commons - that is not what we would consider 'publishing' something. We don't publish our own work or ideas here on Wikipedia (per our policy on original research); our goal is to summarise what reliable sources already say about any subject. In order for your peace symbol to be worth mentioning in our article on peace symbols, we would need evidence that your symbol had gained significant traction in reliable, secondary sources that are independent of you and your symbol. The gold standard would be that an academic wrote about it in a book on the history of peace symbols, but lesser sources might be acceptable, for example if lots of people started using your symbol and a newspaper wrote an article about it and where it had come from. None of the sources you cited mentioned your symbol at all however, which leads me to suspect that no secondary sources have written about it. And please also note our COI guidance - if you are writing about your own work, there are steps you are expected to take to declare that properly. Thank you.
