Le coup de glotte réfléchi aussi appelé fricative pharyngale sonore, est une lettre additionnelle latine utilisée dans certaines transcriptions phonétiques ou translittérations, ainsi que quelques orthographes. Elle peut avoir plusieurs graphies : l’une unicamérale sans majuscule ‹ ʕ ›, notamment dans l’alphabet phonétique international ou dans l’écriture du colville-okanagan et du columbia-wenatchi aux États-Unis, du nitinaht, du nuuchahnulth, du st'at'imcets et du thompson au Canada, du ʻale et du ts’amakko en Éthiopie ; l’autre bicamérale avec une minuscule ‹ ꟏ › () et une majuscule ‹ ꟎ › () notamment dans l’écriture du pilagá en Argentine. Elle est formée à partir d’un coup de glotte unicaméral ‹ ʔ › ou bicaméral ‹ Ɂ › et ‹ ɂ › réfléchis horizontalement.

Dans l’alphabet phonétique international, le coup de glotte réfléchi ‹ ʕ › représente une consonne fricative pharyngale voisée et est parfois aussi utilisé dans la romanisation de l’écriture arabe, comme la romanisation de l’arabe^[1]^,^[2] ou d’autres langues comme le kabyle^[3]. Cependant, il a aussi été utilisé pour représenter une consonne occlusive glottale (coup de glotte) par certains auteurs, dont notamment J. R. Firth^[4], T. F. Mitchell^[5], Hilary Wise^[6] ou encore Hinds et Badawi^[7], ceux-ci utilisant l’ej réfléchi ‹ ƹ › pour représenter la consonne fricative pharyngale voisée.

Transcription de l’arabe [ʕ i n a b] avec un ʕ similaire à un point d’interrogation réfléchi sans point (ou un ˁ) dans Gairdner 1917.
