Traditional method

Traditional method is the name for a method that is used to produce sparkling wines, such as champagne. It is also used for many similar wines produced elsewhere. These wines are fermented in the bottle. In French it is called méthode traditionelle or méthode champenoise. The last term may only be used for sparking wines produced in the Champagne.
