"ഫ്ളാക്സ് ലില്ലി" എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സപുഷ്പികളായ ഏകബീജപത്ര സസ്യങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ജീനസാണ് ഡയനെല്ല. ^[2] സസ്യവർഗ്ഗീകരണത്തിന്റെ APG II സിസ്റ്റത്തിൽ ഡയാനല്ല ഹെമെറോകല്ലിഡോയിഡേസി കുടുംബത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. 2009-ൽ APG II സിസ്റ്റത്തിൽ നിന്ന്മാറി APG III സിസ്റ്റത്തിലായപ്പോൾ ഹെമെറോകല്ലിഡോയിഡേസി മറ്റ് രണ്ട് കുടുംബങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം^[3] കൂടിച്ചേർന്ന് APG IV സിസ്റ്റത്തിൽ അസ്ഫൊഡേലേസീ കുടുംബത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറ്റി സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.^[4]ഡയനെല്ല ഇന്ത്യ മുതൽ ന്യൂസിലാൻഡ് വരെയുള്ള മേഖലകളിലും പസഫിക് ദ്വീപുകളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. സ്പീഷീസുകളിൽ പകുതിയിലധികം ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ തദ്ദേശവാസികളാകുന്നു.^[5]
