I'm posting here as a co-curator of the 'Sister projects' track for WikidataCon 2021, which will take place online on 29-31 October 2021. The conference website is at [1]. Integration with Wikidata is a controversial topic here, and we would like to talk about both the pros and cons of Wikidata integration with the other Wikimedia projects during this conference. Whether you like Wikidata or not, please consider submitting a session proposal to explore the issues that you are most interested in. You can find information about how to submit a session proposal at [2], and you can access the submission form at [3]. Please submit a session proposal through the Pretalx process so that we can review and schedule it appropriately - and make sure to mark it as a 'Sister projects' track proposal. Please note that we cannot accept a session outside of the Pretalx process. We also encourage you to submit talks to other tracks if you are interested! Note that the deadline for submitting proposals is the 20th October - sorry for the short notice! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:45, 15 October 2021 (UTC) Rotten Tomatoes template nominated for deletion

Discussion on connecting reference properties to CS1 in the Wikidata template
Linking to Wikipedia articles in other languages?Would it be possible to use Template:Wikidata to get links to a specific wikipedia language. For example, I have a list of 100 locations in Iceland, I have the wikidata ID number for all of them and I want to list them in a table with links to the English and Icelandic article. I've started experimenting with it here User:Steinninn/sandbox Steinninn 01:17, 19 August 2023 (UTC) Wrong "Wikidata item" linkCan anyone tell me how to remove an incorrect link to Wikidata in the sidebar of an article? The article Belsize House links to a Wikidata item that is about a different structure in a different place, and as far as I can tell there is no Wikidata item for the particular house that the article is about (though there are items for other Belsize Houses). In addition to the link's being incorrect, it's causing the infobox to display a Mapframe map for Wikidata's Belsize House rather than the article's one. (If it would be better to ask this question at the Help Desk or VP/T, let me know.) Deor (talk) 14:18, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

Currently we can only go in lua from an item to the items who appears in the statements or qualifiers or item. We cannot find all statements an item is value of. A discussion about this is going on on Wikidatawiki, input from community is more than welcome : see d:Wikidata:Requests for comment/Inverse property access for wikis : a lua API request for the development team TomT0m (talk) 13:11, 13 January 2024 (UTC) Errors with the first citation on FLACThe wikidata reference includes both a title and a URL, but the citation shows as having an error. I'm not familiar enough with the wikidata process to debug further. Could someone shed some light please? Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 13:58, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
Wikidata search parametersSee the discussion here: is it possible to search Wikipedia using Wikidata items in search parameters? Jarble (talk) 19:59, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
Parsing linksIn the "using wikidata in Wikipedia articles" section, under parsing data, it says that using the statements function doesn't returns a link if the link is a redirect. The example itself is untrue, as calling for that Egyptologist data will indeed return a redirect link to Egyptology (as clearly shown around 2 lines later...). Is the whole statement untrue, or is there some qualification missing? Either way, it needs to be edited. JoeJShmo💌 21:20, 26 July 2024 (UTC) |
