Pronouns-related userboxesSo, I'm new here (well, old to Wikipedia, but new to some Wikipedian-specific culture like userboxes, anyway!) I really, really don't want to jump into something I don't understand and start a shitstorm, so I'll try to phrase this as generically (and as directly-relevant-to-this-WikiProject) as I can: One of the first things on Wikipedia:Userboxes, under “Potentially divisive words,” is an admonition to avoid “negative verb phrases which can be potentially divisive,” specifically mentioning words like ‘dislikes, despises, hates, and loathes.’ However, it seems like a *huge* portion of, at least, Wikipedia:Userboxes/Grammar fails this test; of particular interest to me, the “Singular 'they' / gender neutrality” sections:
I specifically endeavoured to include examples from both, uh, ‘sides’ of the debate. The point here is that there's content being advertised on the Userboxes pages which seem to directly fail the kindness-guidelines (which are pretty good guidelines, I think, as a newcomer! Well-worded, and positively-minded.) at the top of the page. If people want this content on their userpages, like, that's fine; but should they really be *listed* as examples of Good Userboxes that You Should Add to Your Page? /= ELLIOTTCABLE (talk) 08:16, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
xx-0 template suite MfD noticeIt looks like the entire suite of xx-0 babel templates (including ones like Blocked usersThink we should go ahead and remove blocked users from the list of members? Most of them seem to be socks and are not likely to be unblocked, especially because most of the blocks happened a while back. White Arabian Filly Neigh 20:19, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
