Request for ArbitrationHello, I've decided it's time to ask the Arbitration Committee to help out with the problems around articles such as List of republics, which you've been involved in editing or discussing. There's an opportunity for you to add your comment on whether the case should be heard by the ArbCom, and they'll decide if they want to take it up. --Nema Fakei 00:01, 13 July 2007 (UTC) Hello, An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/List of Republics. Please add any evidence you may wish the Arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/List of Republics/Evidence. The agenda for the next meetup includes the formation of a Wikimedia New York City local chapter. Hope to see you there!--Pharos 20:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC) Spoiler tagsPlease note that WP:SPOILER now considers spoiler warnings for film plot summaries to be redundant: "A section header such as "Plot summary," "Detailed summary," or "Synopsis" can be considered a de facto spoiler notice — a synopsis will necessarily describe the entire plot, so there is usually no need to repeat the warning." In the morning, there are exciting plans for a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the American Museum of Natural History. In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to discussing meta:Wikimedia New York City issues (see the last meeting's minutes). In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes. You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list. New mailing listThere has been a mailing list created for Wikipedians in the New York metropolitan area (list: Wikimedia NYC). Please consider joining it! In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, and have salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes). Well also make preparations for our exciting Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, a free content photography contest for Columbia University students planned for Friday March 28 (about 2 weeks after our meeting). In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes. You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list. You're also invited to subscribe to the public Wikimedia New York City mailing list, which is a great way to receive timely updates. Edits to John FranklinI am puzzled by your edit to the map caption box in the entry on John Franklin. Franklin never made it to the mouth of the Mackenzie RIver, and the statement of distance doesn't seem related to the function of the map's key in any case. I was going to revert it, but seeing your extensive work on WP, I thought I would leave this message in hopes you'd reconsider the edit. Clevelander96 (talk) 11:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Richthofen's statisticsJust in case you're still interested in this issue!! I have just spent a happy hour or two editing the "Flying Ace" article - this strikes me as where your bit about Richthofen's statistics really belongs! Seriously, it may make a very useful addition to this article. Cheers --Soundofmusicals (talk) 00:47, 14 May 2008 (UTC) NYC Meetup: June 1, 2008
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, elect a board of directors, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes). We'll also review our recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wiki Week bonanza, being planned with Columbia University students for September or October. In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes. You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list. Also, check out our regional US Wikimedia chapters blog Wiki Northeast (and we're open to guest posts). RollbackI have permit/Archive 1 granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. I do not know the Thai designation for the 1688 Siamese revolution, neither do I know the Siamese date for 1688, but, as far as I know, this is the way this event is designated (and dated) in Western literature, so I would think it is the proper way to designate it (and date it) on the English Wikipedia as well. If you plan on coming, please sign up and be sure to bring something! Please be sure to come! Oil shale economicsHi. Thank you very much for your good edits to the Oil shale economics. Oil shale economics is an one of the oil shale series articles. The purpose is to bring all this series articles to the FA level (currently only the main article Oil shale has FA status and the Oil shale extraction is under FAC review). As you see, the Oil shale economics is still far away from the FA and even GA status. I think that the first target should be the GA status and the FA after that. Unfortunately I am myself a quite "wikitired" at the moment and not very creative for editing this series articles. I also feel that "fresh" editors with fresh look and ideas could be great help for developing this article. Looking your edit history, I am wonder if you may be interested to take a care of bringing the Oil shale economics as also Oil shale reserves to the GA level? I would like apology if this not your area of interest, but I really hope you could assist with these articles. Thank you. Beagel (talk) 15:15, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Establishing notabilityHi. With reference to the Belgian politics article IJzerwake, I wonder how notability may be established in the circumstances applying to this case. Belgian national media regularly bring coverage of e.g. IJzerwake's annual mass event etc. (In part based on reprting by the Belgian ofiicial news agency Belga.) These articles may be easily referenced, but are only carried on the media web sites for a couple of days. After that, such links will point to web nirwana. I was wondering whether you might have a suggestion. Currently available pages could also be stored as image or pdf, but then I have doubts about copyright issues. Thanks for any suggestions (here, on subject or my talk page, ...). My apologies if this isn't the right place for discussing this. --Marc Goossens (talk) 06:19, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

BrennanHi, the Hard Hat Riot section in Brennan's article is a near-copy of much the Hard Hat Riot article. I was thinking of simplifying keeping them both in sync by adding a {{main|Hard Hat Riot}} to Brennan's article and cutting most of the detail there. Any thoughts on that? Correct. Streicher confusingly has the same name as his father in law. So the original, which said he was Viennese, was correct, although Streicher was originally from Stuttgart, i.e. was German. Regards Paulatim (talk) 22:05, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
