Hi Wikiman2230! We're so happy you wanted to play to learn, as a friendly and fun way to get into our community and mission. I think these links might be helpful to you as you get started.
I want to ask you please can you create a page for Albania: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albania on Tigre Wiki with short content. (not Tigrinya as on Tigrinya Wiki the page for Albania exists)
Then add the page to its corresponding Wikidata page:
For some reason, i couldn't make a page on that wiki. I honestly don't know why. It should've shown a red link but it didn't. Very weird. I am sorry i couldn't make it :(
Please ensure you do not cut and paste content from one article or draft page to another. This creates a copyright violation as all content must be attributed to the author who wrote the content. See WP:ARTICLECOPY. In this case you cut Draft:Viewstats and pasted it to Viewstats. Such moves are not allowed as the history does not follow the move.-- Ponyobons mots22:16, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am very sorry. I thought it would be ok since the submission was declined. I promise to not do it again
If the darft was declined then it's even more inappropriate to just cut and paste it to article space as the reviewers had concerns regarding the draft meeting Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.-- Ponyobons mots23:03, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I only said Free Schlep because he was banned for protecting kids on Roblox. If it was harmful in any way, i apologize deeply. I wanted to spread the message around for people to see
Thanks for your contributions to Samapta Bhayangkara Corps. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources.
I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Janzen Madsen until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
Thanks for your contributions to Waqfeyat Misr Foundation. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability.
I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
It's standard policy to delete the mainspace article when it is moved to drafts, not leaving a redirect. The draft page still exists, and the mainspace name is deleted until the article can be moved back into the mainspace. Your page (the draft) is still preserved as-is in the meantime. Yes, you can still continue to work on it and improve on it. The main reason I sent it to a draft is two of the citations are primary sources (the organization's writing about itself). While you can use primary sources, they should also be supported by an independent source when possible.
Typically, three independent sources are needed to establish notability—newspapers, journals, etc. You can check WP:GNG for the main criteria that are needed—independent, reliable, and significant (not just a passing mention). If you have any other questions, I'm happy to help to the best of my ability. There's also the teahouse for perhaps a broader reach in finding people who can assist if I'm unable. Haj (talk)00:03, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct about Facebook, I avoid it for use in articles. As for what sources you could use, I'm not familiar with Arabic, so my own searches are limited to only English. Arabic sources can be used as long as they fit the criteria I mentioned previously. There are WikiProjects such as WikiProject Arab world or WikiProject Egypt who may be able on their talk pages. I can't guarantee success, but the more eyes looking at it, the better.
I do seem to find more results for Marwa El Daly, so there's a chance an article about her may be a little easier to start with. If you want to keep working at it or start something new, I always create a draft page or use a personal sandbox (User:Wikiman2230/Sandbox) to build an article before publishing it. Haj (talk)00:27, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There's possibly more, but that may be a start. I usually start articles I write with maybe a few sources, and by the time I'm done, I end up finding resources that help me discover more. It can be a snowball effect once you find a new source. Haj (talk)02:19, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that. :) It can feel like an uphill battle to start. There's some guides out there to help new editors get started, like WP:CTW. It may be a good thing to bookmark and read as you get time. Haj (talk)03:04, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're genuinely one of the nicest people i have ever met. I made an article on Jandel, and it got nominated for deletion. In the deletion discussion, they said the article had 'poor grammar' which made me sad because now I feel like i shouldn't be on Wikipedia at all. Idk887621 (talk) 16:19, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Grammar can be cleaned up, some of my first articles (long ago) were messes and were deleted. "Perfect is the enemy of good." Consider WP:MENTOR if you think having a guiding hand could help until you're more comfortable. And if you want to take a step back, read, and learn more before contributing further, I understand that as well. I just hope it doesn't discourage you, because we always need more editors. At the end of the day, his entire place is built upon collaboration and working towards improving what we have and what we don't have yet. Haj (talk)16:28, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Also, I am apart of a project Thats determined to make articles that don't exist yet. Hence the reason on why I made the foundation article in the first place. I understand that it doesn't have any credible sources, so I will (moving forward) try to get more reliable sources! Idk887621 (talk) 16:31, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"None" short descriptions
You added the short description "2025 nation-wide Indonesian demonstrations" to the article August 2025 Indonesian protests, which was previously set to "none", in this edit. I believe that this article should not have a short description under its current article title. See WP:SDNONE: All articles should have a short description, but some article titles are sufficiently self-explanatory to English language speakers worldwide that a descriptive annotation would not be helpful. Such articles can be given the short description "none". A short description should never be the same as the article's title. If the primary purposes of a short description are entirely met by the title wording, that is a good indication that "none" would be appropriate.
Here is why I want it to be "none" instead:
1. "2025" is already repeated in the current title more specifically as "August 2025".
2. "nation-wide" is implied by the title using the demonym "Indonesian" in the article title. This is due to article scope. An article titled "2025 Asian protests" would not have the scope just be for a protest in a small neighborhood in Jakarta, for instance.
3. "Indonesian" is repeated in the article title.
4. "demonstrations" is repeated using a synonym "protests". Protest Wikipedia article: A protest (also called a demonstration, remonstration, or remonstrance) is a public act of objection, disapproval or dissent against political advantage. (my bold)
In short: This short description is just repeating the article title.
It is fine. I know you are new to Wikipedia. But this is something to keep in mind for later. This does not mean that short descriptions should never repeat the title just a little bit. But don't repeat the whole title. For example; List of Star Trek: Voyager episodes has the short description "Episodes of American TV show", which just repeats the word "episodes". This is a good short description. - Sebbog13 (talk) 00:23, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
