What stood out to me was the large addition on a weather article by a new IP. Also, it geolocates to a Dunkin' Donuts. Andrew loves editing from Dunkin' free WiFi and multiple IPs connected to Dunkin' locations have been blocked because they were connected to his socking. wizzito | say hello!05:13, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha! I welcome a lot of new accounts, especially from my watchlist as I am pet-peeved by red talk pages. I guess I overlooked that one…I must be losing my touch…I caught 1/3 of all the Andrew5 socks and I missed one. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page)06:18, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly Wizzito, I do not see why you are so upset at a simple welcome message. Seriously. Editor to editor here...you might actually need to take a short break. If anything, a welcome message would alert Andrew5 that someone is watching their edits still and might deter them. It also puts the IP and/or account on my watchlist automatically, so I would be more inclined to investigate if they do 2+ edits. As someone who has literally been impersonated (twice) and got death threats from A5, you do not need to be so uptight over it. (talk page watcher) I think everyone here needs to WP:AGF and WP:MOVEON. WeatherWriter made a mistake by welcoming an Andrew5 IP, but there isn't much harm in doing that and it was clearly a mistake. On the flip-side, this doesn't rise to the level of needing to "take a break"; it's just a misunderstanding. EF519:11, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've just been pissed off ever since Andrew started college.
Why, you may ask? I actually reported his behavior a few months ago to the University of Delaware, with evidence (including the usage of their network to evade his WMF ban). They said they would look into it in relation to their "Code of Conduct." UDel clearly doesn't think that sending death threats to and harassing WP editors is a violation of their "Code of Conduct" because he's pretty obviously attending the university right now.
Maybe they couldn't really do anything because the most egregious stuff wasn't done on their network, I don't really know, but it still upsets me. A separate LTA (WP:LTA/DENVER) actually stopped vandalizing for three whole years after I reported their behavior to their ISP. We used to have a program many years ago called abuse response that reported LTA behavior to ISPs, and that page now states "[i]t is still possible for administrators and vandal fighters to contact ISPs, schools, and employers on their own ... [m]any ISPs, schools, and employers are cooperative, while many others are not." wizzito | say hello!19:46, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about what happened today (I think it's been a rough week for everyone given what's happening in America right now), and I really do understand your frustration with the whole project right now. I'm hoping this is somewhat motivating, but while that weather-politics draft might be large it'll certainly be an article to be proud of. Maybe you could even try to get an FA out of it, which is plusible given how well-written it is! Cheers to a (hopefully) happier weekend and start to fall.
