Haha, actually it started as a some kind of joke to commence an article about Klaus Ebner in Javanese as I saw somewhere that people complain about this article. It is no more than a stub. I didn't know this author but I am planning to learn more about him as he seems a rather . I will elaborate on him. BTW I am also a philologist, but my field is (Old) Javanese. I give lectures in Leiden. Meursault2004 (talk) 14:29, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that is what I mean, people complaining about Ebner writing about himself. And furthermore I saw this on the Min Dong Wikipedia. Do you know Irina Walter? That was what sparked my interest. BTW I just expand a bit about Klaus Ebner on Javanese. I promise you I will translate the English or the German article on Javanese. Meursault2004 (talk) 14:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your compliment. I really had to think hard to translate that piece of poem. But then I discovered that the German version is easier to understand. Furthermore although Javanese is my native tongue, sometimes it is easier to write in Indonesian as my Indonesian vocabulary is bigger. So I had to look for words in the dictionary. I just saw that you or someone else added the references. Meursault2004 (talk) 00:44, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes of course, I can do the translation in Indonesian. Actually I was very active on Indonesian Wikipedia, but recently I spent more time on Javanese related projects. It was not only because I was asked to but also because sometimes I felt somewhat alienated from the Indonesian Wikipedia. You know I had been there from the very first beginning but now the community becomes bigger and now I really think I am a stranger there :-) I am sorry this has nothing to do with Klaus Ebner. You'll see when the Indonesian version is finished. Meursault2004 (talk) 21:49, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. No the Sundanese text is not yet finished ... I'll try to finish it, however I only have su-1. But I do have a dictionary. Meursault2004 (talk) 21:30, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Torsten, sorry for my delay in replying. I'll be happy to help with Hominid, and look forward to learning more about Ebner and his work. I'm quite impressed with the dedication displayed by you and other editors throughout the Wikipedia projects to improve article's dedicated to this specific author, who is not well known in the English-speaking world -- yet. If you don't mind, I'll add suggestions/comments for further improvements on the article's talk page while I copy-edit. María(habla conmigo) 13:39, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologize, the article isn't bad at all! Most of it is nitpicky grammar/word choice; I understand what is being said, but it might not necessarily be the best way to say it. :) Since you mention it, if you have any interest in celebrity animals, I've always thought it disappointing that Knut (polar bear) doesn't have a better article at the German Wikipedia; it was the first article that I extensively researched and wrote, and although a Spanish Wikipedian translated the English version, both of which are now featured, Knut is German, after all! Hi Torsten, good to hear from you again! Hominid will need some more work before it becomes a GA. Here are a few suggestions:
Take a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (novels) for an overview of what general novels typically discuss. If there are enough critical opinions (from reliable sources), you could add sections having to do with the novel's major themes, writing style/genre, and/or publication history. While a GA mustn't have all of these elements, they typically signify a well rounded article. It all depends on what is available in the sources.
The lead will need to be expanded; per WP:LEAD, the introduction should summarize the entire article. Add some info about the plot, the characters, critical reception, etc.
Good questions, Torsten. Book titles (novels and collections) should always be in italics, whereas the titles of short stories, articles and poems are in "quotes". As for repetition of info, that's kind of unavoidable. The lead section should be a summary of the entire article, and include information from each separate section -- so there will of course be repeated info. As for plot and themes, what usually helps is that even though some of the info is the same, it's presented in a different way, to suit the section in question. Hope this helps, María(habla conmigo) 14:40, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, yes. I'm afraid I don't have the time to complete a full-fledged copyedit at this time, but the article has much improved. You may want to request someone from The Guild of Copyeditors to read it and correct minor things before you nominate it at GAC. Good luck! María(habla conmigo) 18:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I am trying to translate the whole article in Javanese. It's a bit slow at this moment, but hopefully I'll finish it. I must say that I am beginning to get more interested in this novel. However I can't find it in stores. Meursault2004 (talk) 13:39, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ingrid Reichel until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion.
