Roof tent editHi there, My concern about the Gordigear image is that the IP address associated with the edits is from the same town as Gordigear, so I think they're spamming. I'm the one who took the other image of the ARB roof tent on my Nissan Patrol and am not in any way, shape or form associated with ARB. Ultimately, if it was two individual users who did not have an association with either company, I'd have no problem with the Gordigear image, but because it appears to be Gordigear themselves spamming, I take issue with it. I added two new sources saying that UBF is a member of two organizations. It is a fact. But he claims it is self-promotion. Would you help me in regards to this matter? thank you ahead of time. [User:Aguynamedjohnlee] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aguynamedjohnlee (talk • contribs) 19:30, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
@Aguynamedjohnlee: - thank you for contacting me on this matter. At the moment I don't have time to assist with this matter. However here is some recommendations. Carefully read and understand WP:COI, I believe you would be considered to have a close connection to this topic. As such, even edits with good intentions could be met with extra scrutiny. While you're not prohibited from editing the article directly, as you've already observed, people haven't liked the changes. The best route is to discuss the proposed changes on the article talk page, which I see you're doing. This specific article has some very passionate users who edit Wikipedia in a specific BIAS, and even simple changes, such as adding memberships, can be controversial. If I had time, I would be happy to help mentor you in bringing about these changes, but instead perhaps you can seek out help from WP:Teahouse where someone might be able to help guide you on constructively editing that page. Another recommendation would be to become involved in editing a completely unrelated page you have an interest in... this could be a musical artist, movie, hobby, etc., and get the hang of the process with an article which is not controversial. Best of luck! Tiggerjay (talk) 20:25, 2 June 2016 (UTC) Please comment on Talk:Chris KyleThe feedback request service is asking for participation in this request for comment on Talk:Chris Kyle.
