In honor of Wikidata's 8th birthday earlier this month, we especially encourage lightning talks related to Wikidata and Wikidata adjacent projects and tools. We'll also discuss the recent proposal to change the Wikimedia Foundation Bylaws, including the Statement of Opposition from Wikimedia NYC.

This month will include a discussion of the sixth annual Community Wishlist Survey, an opportunity for editors and other community members to submit proposals for fixes and features you'd like the Wikimedia Foundation's tech team to address. As always, it's the agenda anyone can edit, so please feel free to add any projects you'd like to share.
Liz, As I said on the talk page, I am trying to collect data for research purposes. These placeholder categorizations make the data unusable, as they are noise. I communicated my intent and it was met with consent from Buaidh. I was unaware that disabling them would cause their speedy deletion. It appears that neither was Buaidh. It was not my intent to cause these otherwise-empty categories to be deleted. In all things I try to go slowly, and carefully. Theredproject (talk) 16:18, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Air Forces Monthly, which you proposed for deletion. This is per WP:NEXIST. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks!
It was a fair challenge though. I intend to improve the article as a result to demonstrate notability. Mark83 (talk) 15:02, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Wikipedia Day is always a big day for Wikimedia NYC. While we cannot meet in person, we still have something special planned. We will begin the event with the debut of a new video celebrating our community. This will be followed by a panel discussion with some of the people you'll see in the video talking about Wikipedia's 20th anniversary, Wikimedia New York City, and the amazing work they do on Wikimedia projects.
Hello and happy 2021. Thank you so much for making those changes to the Statue of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Those were my errors that added the incorrect information, and I'm really glad you caught them and corrected the article. I was reading & typing too fast! Netherzone (talk) 20:46, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
Netherzone, no problem. I did a autobiography/PROMO TNT on the Gillie and Marc article a few years ago, so I have become familiar both with their work, and their modus operandi. I just !voted to delete, draftify, or merge. You might want to take a look at my argument, and see if it changes your !vote, given the facts on the ground are not as you thought. Theredproject (talk) 21:02, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
I will have a look at your comments and give it consideration. Thanks again for your time working on the article and correcting my mistakes, and I appreciate knowing about the Gille & Marc promo, I had no idea. Netherzone (talk) 21:10, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello! It's the former ThatMontrealIP here... After trimming 17K from Xing Xin, I am starting to have the sense that it is all smoke and mirrors. Do you think the Personal Structures "Venice Biennale" show is a paid gig? Thank you for your thoughts on this. Possibly (talk) 19:41, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Possibly, Yes, Personal Structures is a Vanity, on the User:Theredproject/Predatory Exhibitions and Vanity Galleries page. I'm kind of shocked I didn't previously discover it had a WP page. Unclear if it is notable, and needs some context (per Florence Biennale) or if it needs to take a third trip to AfD, where it was deleted, then recreated, and kept the second time. Additionally, I could not verify the first claim that "this work [...] won him a ticket to create a new piece in the 53rd Venice Biennale in Macao Pavilion." I was unable to verify this. The Macao Pavilion did exist, but from what I can tell, it included these artists: Lee Yee Kee, Bonnie Leong Mou Cheng and Kitty Leung Mou Kit, and João Ó Bruno Soares. Its Curator was: Kent, Ieong Chi Kin. This is per this review in Yishu [1]. So likely not in the legit Venice, and definitely in the vanity Venice. Theredproject (talk) 13:27, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Howdy. I am guessing you must know Sarabod99? Could you talk to her about how to disclose properly for GLAM, and about not using WP for promotion? I had no luck and started a COIN thread. Thanks in advance. --- Possibly (talk) 18:25, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

I don;t know if you checked my commons contributions when commenting at the EA AfD recently (although generic if plausibly referred to me). In particular C:File:Gillespie Covid-19 key-worker stainless steel monument and seat East Street Chichester.jpg taken 7 June 2021 well before the AfD. Okay only loaded up in the past 24 hours as a batch from my mobile in particular due to some images from St. Mary's Hospital. The placing of that image is however consistent with other contributions I made to commons. Another point for coming here is it would be really great if someone could upload images for some of the Recollections stuff. I'm sure you'll agree arts and architecture related articles really need images! I would also note anyone following my contributions on WikiPedia are risking ending up be rehab candidates! Thankyou. Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
