In summary, this is what I learned from the chapter. You can be bold and fix things. Don't worry if you mess up. Someone else can fix it or teach you how to fix it. Do not assume any non constructive edit is vandalism(assume good faith.) Be civil and do not scream/yell. (TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS TO GET A POINT ACROSS!!!!!) If someone reverts your edit; discuss it with them on their talkpage or the article talkpage. Do not engage in edit wars. Blitzfan51speak to the manager16:22, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2024 Portland train attack until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
Please remove your speedy deletion request from this page. The article does not qualify for speedy deletion by any metric. Also, why does the article need copyediting? The spelling and grammar is just fine.--LadybugStardust (talk) 01:45, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
I've declined the speedy deletion. A band with notable members is a a credible assertion of importance. I've also removed a bunch of inappropriate article improvement tags. Tag-bombing is not a good way to review new articles. -- Whpq (talk) 03:02, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Did you even really look at the article before tagging?
{{Lead too short}} - It's a stub (and marked as such) The entire article is too short.
{{context}} - The first sentence makes it clear what this article is about. It's a band. They are American. They play blues rock. They existed from 1972 to 1974. What context do you think is missing?
{{Copyedit}} - The stub is written in complete, grammatical sentences that are easily understood. What sort of copyediting is needed?
Hello TheTechie, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Generation Beta, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G4: the deletion discussion clearly endorsed working on the topic as a draft. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:48, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn't see that comment. I was looking into it more after I declined, and the deleted article was actually restored to User:Wesoree/Generation Beta, so the draft you tagged is a recreation. I'm not sure what to do about it yet, though. (@Jay and Liz: - so you're aware) Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:25, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Jay restored the userspace draft, and also was actually the one who declined your speedy but we edit-conflicted. Seems like they undid the tag but I notified you. Weird how the tools work sometimes. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:46, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
I did not realize the userfied draft I was involved with was the same topic as this draftspace draft. I think the two pages should co-exist. Once User:Wesoree is ready for submission, he should merge it to the draft to avoid duplicate submissions. Jay 💬20:08, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 13
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited SleepBot, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mobile. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
Sorry! Didn't think of it that way. (Note: the signature is meant to make it look like a terminal prompt): What color would make it easy for you to see? thetechie@wikimedia: ~/talk/$17:01, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Flicking through your contribution history, I see good work. I encourage you to apply for rollback, and come join the RCP team full-time! Synorem (talk) 00:58, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
@Synorem Thank you! Though I was previously declined for not having a month of recent changes, do you think that applies now? Also, do you an admin who'd be willing to take my request. Thanks! -- thetechie@wikimedia: ~/talk/$01:00, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Frankly, Fastily is usually the main admin whom manages requests. My first request was denied for the same reason - mind you, so don't see that as a roadblock or as an encouragement to find go a different route.
I can't seem to find the exact date since your application, but so long as it wasn't anytime very recently then I'd say it's worth another shot. I see you already help with pending changes - which is a good start, and good experience. Synorem (talk) 01:18, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
I suppose it's a bit of an in-between, that's your judgement to make. Whether you choose to give it some time or re-apply, while I cannot say you have or haven't contributed for a month, your work is appreciated regardless. Synorem (talk) 01:30, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Um, why? Others add things like @enwiki, so I added @wikimedia, b/c I don't only work on enwiki. It would be tedious, IMHO, to do thetechie@enwiki/commons/wikivoyage. thetechie@wikimedia: ~/talk/$14:18, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
I apologize, but I'm not changing this, and this has been discussed multiple times (including at ANI); the signature has been the same for 15+ years and you can easily hover over my name and see by my user talk who I am. I am certainly not misrepresenting myself by using my true first name. Nate•(chatter)20:36, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi TheTechie, Good day. I have removed you as the CVUA trainer. Pls note that you have only less than 500 edits on the main space and little experience on counter vandalism. I have more than 30K edits before I became one of the trainer as the program entails a boarder aspect of vandalism which need to understand a lot of vandalism guidelines and experience. I suggest you to take CVUA program yourself and complete it and have at least 5K edits before try again to be a trainer. Cassiopeiatalk03:42, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
That doesn't make sense? I wanted to train other users about vandalism. And that's <500 undeleted edits, I think. I think my contributions do counter vandalism, but go ahead, remove my name. I patrol RC and if that doesn't constitute enough experience, I don't know what does. --- thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/$14:18, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi TheTechie, good day. You have (at this moment 553 edits on your talk page and 448 edits on mainspace which means you edits more on your talk page then your edits in the main space. Further more, you have reports to AIV only 13 times so not having a lot of experience in counter vandalism for being a CUVA trainer needs to know a lot more than some vandalism knowledge. If you really want to be a trainer then take the CVUA with an experience editor first. I suggest you to take WP:TWA program to understand some fundamental info and guidelines of Wikipedia to do the RC work. stay safe and best. Cassiopeiatalk00:27, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Sorry to revert your edit on your talk page as the Welcome message is automatically place on the very top of the talk page. I moved our message here so it is a continuing thread of our communication. stay safe and best. Cassiopeiatalk02:52, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
My contributions
I wanted to apologize for not explaining my changes better. I was trying to improve the page, but it may have seemed like I was intentionally removing content when that was not my intention. 73.79.229.7 (talk) 19:31, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
The Techie -
Good Day
Please explain why you would feel why this change would be anything considered to be ' vandalism '.
On reading your page it was noted you seem to handle vandalism however the entry in question was only straight correct fact.
It very much appears the vast majority of you too many ' reverting / revision types ' know very little to absolutely nothing about sports or military facts or life, therefore why not arrange for some people who do know something in this regard to handle those two subjects in particular to make you all and Wikipedia, in particular, appear to be very much more professional.
Therefore please now restore what was entered which you reverted.
Chad Mottola will be most appreciative.
Thank You Very Much - 69.159.70.156 69.159.70.156 (talk) 02:50, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
I didn't revert anything. If you think I reverted something, give me a diff link. In addition, be mindful using ALL CAPS titles for topics, this may be perceived as aggression/shouting. Just a tip. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/$02:53, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
(passing-by user)How is changing but to although something that is difficult to distinguish from, let alone appears to be at all, vandalism? Did you just warn them for the wrong page? You didn't even revert their edit. – 143.208.237.220 (talk) 03:14, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
69.159.70.156|69.159.70.156 and TheTechie, I believe the IP editor meant THIS warning you placed on the editor talk page. However, upon checking on the article where IP editor made the edit on April 16, 2024 - see HERE, there was no vandalism made nor TheTechie reverted the edit. I guess TheThechie place the warning to IP editor mistakenly placed - wrong editor talk page (may open too many editors/articles on their lap top and click the wrong tab - just a guess). Cassiopeiatalk03:31, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Cassiopeia / TheTechie - Seems many of you not knowing / not seeing Wikipedia people are rather screwed up in reading through the follow up above, much of which which makes no sense whatsoever as to why anyone would even think to waste time and worry about a few words -
You Wikipedia editors / reveters are doing more harm than good as you are and will be driving away even more people from helping in correcting / altering / changing things which are totally incorrect / totally wrong / totally inaccurate - Why not try to do something smarter and line up some real " professionals " who know more than you all do with respect to certain topics / areas where people are saying things they know about and please stop all these far too many not wanted / not needed / insulting reverts - Thank You - 69.159.70.156 - 69.159.70.156 (talk) 13:19, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Well, it is just a copyedit edit and not a vandalism nor anything to do with any knowledge of the subject nor the subject career/field of work in contrast that what the editor thinks. We all made mistake and when we do, we apologies and learnt from it and not doing again. As counter vandalism editors, at time we might click the wrong button, I certainly have had in the past and I apologies when I found out I did a mistake instead telling the editor they have choice not to edit Wikipedia. In addition, I am not sure if the editor know that we are all volunteers here and edit in our own free time to help Wikipedia project and their choice of words is not kind for they might not understand to comment on the edit but not the person/editor Wikipedia guidelines. As mentioned to you before, CVUA is not only about vandalism but many other topics or issues involve. Here in this case, it is about how to dealing with (communication) editors. As you can see the messages on my talk page, I have been subjected to that many times, including in the past of physically threats, threating to sue me, name calling and all the foul languages, profanity, curse words come my way because I am a counter vandalism editor and give warnings and advice to editors. Stay safe and best. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cassiopeia (talk • contribs) 23:38, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

You shouldn't go around "correcting" other people's comments, especially since what you changed was not an error. The quotation marks should have clued you in that it was deliberate. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:15, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi The Techier
Pls read - the following links since you cant access to TWA. Pls read them through and understand the info and guidelines well especially you want to a trainer as the below are the basic fundamental guidelines Wikipedia. (Dont rush) . It is a lot of reading as TWA program is a lot faster and easier. I will set up your CVUA program this weekend so you have some time to read all the below.
Hi, I have set up the program for you. Pls read the "communication section" at the very bottom of assignment 1 first before answering the questions. When you have done or if you have any question regarding cvua, pls ping me at the "communication section". Cassiopeiatalk06:09, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
You're welcome, Ash. (Please let me know if you would not like me to call you that.) When I signed your guestbook, I stated that I found your user page through a welcome you gave to an IP user. PS if you'd like to sign mine, it's here. Enjoy your evening! Best --- thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/$00:30, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
@Me Da Wikipedian Happy to explain. The user was vandalizing by changing potentially controversial info in quick succession, which is why I did that. Feel free to let me know if that didn't clear it up for you. Thanks --- thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/$00:20, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
Oddly enough, this is like the 2nd time in 3 days I've notified a experienced editor about giving only warnings first (although the other one doesn't seem to have just made a mistake) Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 01:27, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
