Hello there! I hope you're having a good rest from Wikipedia :) Look i have left sources that i have found regarding Metal Slader Glory that i have found so far at the article's talk page. I think with these remaining sources, plus the Famitsu review that was previously not scanned online (https://archive.org/details/famitsu0142/page/38/mode/1up), will lead to Metal Slader Glory becoming a potential GA if you want. Take care and have a nice day :D Roberth Martinez (talk) 17:42, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading File:Hagane screenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Hello there! I noticed on your user page that you're dealing with health issues. All i can say is that i wish you the best and a speedy recovery! Take care :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 20:56, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there Tarkus! I hope you're doing well :) Look, sorry for bothering you right now but i actually plan to do a rewrite for Hyper Duel by Technosoft. I don't know if you have the time but i wanted to ask you what does it say in these two reviews by Saturn Fan and the Japanese Sega Saturn Magazine respectively. If you can also identify the name of the reviewers from each magazine (two by Saturn Fan and three by Sega Saturn Magazine) i would be very grateful. Take care of yourself and happy week :D Roberth Martinez (talk) 01:29, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi KGRAMR, I hope you're doing well. I don't have time to do these translations. I recommend using a phone with Google Translate and holding it up to your screen to translate in real-time. If you want, I can verify the information from the translation is accurate. TarkusABtalk/contrib17:53, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Let me see if i can find the Google Translate program for my phone (which is a Redmi Xiaomi left by my dad) and i'll get back to you as soon as i can. Roberth Martinez (talk) 00:59, 30 May 2024 (UTC
@TarkusAB:OK so, i downloaded and used Google Translate. This is more or less what it gave to me: 1) The names of the two Saturn Fan reviewers are Toshiyuki Nishimura and Yasuhiro Yamaguchi. 2) The names of the three Sega Saturn Magazine reviewers are Atsuko Suzuki, Akashiya Sanman and Ryoichi Kosaka. Are those their real names? (P.S. I also found out via two interviews with Naosuke Arai (1) and (2)) that Hyper Duel was made by ten staff members more or less. If i understand correctly the SSM interview, the arcade version was planned from the design of the game's arcade board (the TEC442-A) and took some time. The Saturn conversion was made in several months out of high demand from players. Is that also right from what i gathered?) Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:48, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would not trust Google Translate with Japanese names. Kanji can be translated in different ways so unless you can verify through other means, don't bother.
The Saturn Fan interview is about Thunder Force. The only part he talks about Hyper Duel is when he says that they are thinking of porting it over due to player demand.
Yes, it was ten staff (Saturn version), and correct about the arcade board. I'm not seeing anything about development time.
Hey there! Sorry for bothering you once again but this Gamest article about Hyper Duel (https://archive.org/details/gamest0096/page/16/mode/2up) caught my attention. Why is that? Well, using Google Translate and the camera function, i was more or less able to deduct that Hyper Duel was Technosoft's first full-foray release for arcades. Yeah, there was Thunder Force AC but it seems that Hyper Duel was their first arcade original release. Is that more or less correct? Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:13, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Cool! I think Google Translate will be a handy tool for future researchs. Of course i can also consult with you to see if what it's being said is more or less accurate :D I do intent getting Hyper Duel to GA status once everything is all done and i'll credit you for helping me with this effort :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 01:44, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Hello there! Probably a few months late XD but thanks your help, i was able to turn Hyper Duel and also Blast Wind (which never had an article before) into GAs. I don't know how interested you are but i do plan in tackling Hagane in the future and I have a draft ready to build so if you want, i could lent it to you. Have a good day :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 16:46, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@KGRAMR: Hi Roberth, I always enjoy hearing from you and hope you are doing well! :) So the scoring is a little complicated but I figured it out. If you go to the following page after the one you linked, you'll see a big table with the games listed on the side and columns labeled A,B,C, which actually represent regions of Japan. The table shows which games made the most money in the arcades last month in each region. So for example, Gaiapolis was the 4th highest grossing cabinet in region A. The magazine assigned these rankings points (e.g. rank 1 = 10 points, rank 2 = 9 points, .... rank 10 = 1 point) and then totaled the points for each game and that represents the ranking on the first page. So Gaiapolis was ranked 4,7,8,6,9,6,8 which are points of 7,4,3,5,2,5,3 which add up to 29 which is why you see 29 next to Gaiapolis on the first page. I don't think our readers need to know this complexity. We can simplify to Monthly Coin Journal ranked Gaiapolis as the 12th highest-grossing arcade machine in Japan in June 1993 based on an arcade operator survey. (Though that doesn't sound all that impressive) It's important to indicate "highest-grossing", not "most popular", since games had different costs, play-times, etc. TarkusABtalk/contrib08:34, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Thank you so much for the help! I just finished a full rewrite and restructure of Gaiapolis, which would not have been possible thanks to your previous help with translating the liner notes of the original 1993 CD album. I just hope that, with the sign that the game received a new CD album as recent as 2024, we'll see Gaiapolis being finally released on the Arcade Archives. I'm gonna go ahead and add the Coin Journal source. Thank you once again for your help and have a good day :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 10:49, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Hello and happy weekend! Sorry for bothering right now in case you're busy but i'm currently finishing work on a full rewrite of Cho Ren Sha 68K for... well... the X68000. I came across with this interview regarding its inclusion on the X68000 Z. Since you have more knowledge of the Japanese language, i wanted to ask you to see if you could come up with a more resumed paragraph about it. I will credit you for your efforts once i take CRS68K to GA. Thank you and have a good day :D Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:56, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Hello there! I hope you're doing well. While i was doing research for my future rework of Magical Chase, i came across with the liner notes of the official soundtrack (https://vgmsite.com/soundtracks/magical-chase-original-soundtrack/03%20Booklet%20Interior.jpg). Something that i'm trying to understand, based on what Google Translate throws at me with this Sakimoto comment: "At the time, when shooting games were still at their peak, the Quest staff were shining with excitement as they say 'Let's do something interesting with this group of people'" What i am trying to decypher, since this comment most likely is referring as to why Magical Chase was developed, is that they wanted to something interesting with the genre or is it something with another meaning. If you can help me out trying to figure out in a resumed manner what Sakimoto said in those liner notes, i would be very thankful for your help. Thanks and have a good day :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:26, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@KGRAMR: Hi Roberth, yes. He is saying: At the time, when shooting games were really popular, all of us Quest staff were saying with excitement: "let's try doing something interesting with this team!". Us sound team members had the spirit of needing to make something special too. I would interpret that basically as you did; that shooters were really popular at the time, and so they wanted to make a shooter too but wanted to do something interesting/special/unique in the genre. The food and drinks I pick aren't specified toward the user and are usually just what I'm craving at the moment. If you don't want the tea, I'll take it.
I haven't seen your name around at the video games project in a while; I'm happy to see it! I hope these health concerns are treating you better as of late. Praying for a smooth recovery! Panini!•🥪21:02, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think it's a good time to reopen the Neo Geo and Neo Geo (system) move suggestion? I still want to see Neo Geo (system) moved to Neo Geo. I'll let you handle it since it would probably involve deletion requests and you seem more experienced to navigate all that. Sceeegt (talk) 22:37, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My sincerest apologies, it didn't look like a normal TFD notification for some reason, must have been too early in the morning for me, sorry. :( --woodensuperman15:01, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Some future GA reviews
Hello there! I hope you're doing well. Just so you know ahead, my next GA nomination most likely will be Magical Chase for the TurboGrafx-16. But first, i must do a full rewrite for it outside of the main page, since i discovered a lot of really interesting info as to why copies of the game are so sought after. Once you see it on the WPVG talk page, that's my nomination. Take care and have a good day :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 15:13, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:I actually dabble on Gunbird 1 not too long ago by finding reviews for it. I do know that Angeldeb82 did tackle Gunbird 2 and Cannon Spike in terms of finding reviews to establish the game's notability on the website. Perhaps in the future, i will tackle another Psykio game... Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:28, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Okay, so the nomination for Magical Chase is now open. I plan to find reviews for various game articles here so, i can lend my hand to one of the Psikyo article in the meanwhile before i prepare myself to do another potential GA, most likely another Atari Jaguar game article.
