The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 12 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 13 March. It will be on all wikis from 14 March (calendar). [1][2]
After consulting with various communities, the line height of the text on the Minerva skin will be increased to its previous value of 1.65. Different options for typography can also be set using the options in the menu, as needed. [3]
The active link color in Minerva will be changed to provide more consistency with our other platforms and best practices. [4]
Structured data on Commons will no longer ask whether you want to leave the page without saving. This will prevent the “information you’ve entered may not be saved” popups from appearing when no information have been entered. It will also make file pages on Commons load faster in certain cases. However, the popups will be hidden even if information has indeed been entered. If you accidentally close the page before saving the structured data you entered, that data will be lost. [5]
Future changes
All wikis will be read-only for a few minutes on March 20. This is planned at 14:00 UTC. More information will be published in Tech News and will also be posted on individual wikis in the coming weeks. [6][7]
Hey! So I know that there is a portion of the Newnan EF4 tornado but not fully in depth of it. I was wondering where to start to make it and what sources have the best references for weather articles. --AtlantaWeatherChaser (talk) 03:07, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

I'm trying to edit the biography of Gerard Dubois (chef).
I made a writeup with the help of chatgpt.
I edited the content for Gerard Dubois, but DanCherek keeps on deleting all the information.
Hiya, @Rainier28! I highly don't recommend using ChatGPT to write or add information to articles, you can see Wikipedia:Large language models for further information regarding the use of ChatGPT and other LLMs on articles. Additionally, I'll have to agree with DanCherek here – it was not only promotional, but also entirely unsourced, adding on to an article that adheres to the biographies of living persons policy. However, if you'd like to add the content back, I highly encourage you not to use ChatGPT to write it, shouldn't read promotional, and every claim and statement should be referenced to reliable sources. Thanks! ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:28, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi! I'm new to being a user at Wikipedia. I was trying to message another user recently, but haven't been able to figure out how. I tried the "email this user" option, but I just got an error saying: You cannot send email to other users on this wiki. --EoinOT (talk) 00:15, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hello @EoinOT; welcome to Wikipedia. Usually, email is only used for confidential matters; the preferred method of communication is their talk page. The user likely enabled a setting that does not allow new users to email them to prevent harassment. If you need to email them for a confidential matter, you can ask them to email you on their talk page; otherwise, just put your message on their talk page. Hope this helps, queen of 🖤 (they/them; chat) 01:32, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi, Windrush3! Since I'm not really active on Simple English Wikipedia; I don't have an article there. I'm assuming that creating a page on Simple Wikipedia is basically the same as creating one here; so probably yes! ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:00, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Ho
thanknyou for replying.
Can I send you my sandbox page? Or how to go forward?
Oh, alright! So, you moved your sandbox to a userpage, with the userpage belonging to a non-existent user. I've gone ahead and reverted it and marked the userpage for speedy deletion, just an FYI. Your sandbox isn't affected, however. Next, is the subject notable? We'll need reliable, secondary sources of the subject with significant coverage of them, and so far, it doesn't seem like the subject, Reverend Mark Farr, meets notability guidelines, unfortunately. I'll be happy to take a look for any sources that establish notability of Farr if you'd like, though! (Courtesy ping, @Windrush3!) :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:30, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
So regarding the notability guidelines, being president of a fairly well known international organization working with dialogue between Russia and the US isn’t enough ? Or of the John Lewis organization
It's alright! Understanding notability guidelines might be a bit difficult or frustrating at first; but you'll later know which sources establish notability or not.
A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
This applies to any biography of a person, though WP:NBASIC is a much clearer, specific notability guideline for people. It's basically the same thing.
For Farr, I'll do a source review below:
The C-Span source just leads me to the homepage, and not a specific page. Is there a specific one?
The Brookings source – we're getting there, but just a profile with two sentences? Not much to establish notability of Farr.
The Eurasia Center source – reliable, has significant coverage – but not a secondary source, unfortunately.
The Global Peace Foundation source – same thing with the Eurasia Center source: reliable, significant coverage attained, but not a secondary source!
So, Farr needs work in establishing notability of him. Let me know if you need help in finding sources, or if you need any example sources that are reliable, secondary, and have significant coverage of a person! There could be more outside of the noted sources above; though I'll need to take a more thorough, in-depth search for sources. (Courtesy ping Windrush3!) :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:58, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me understand
let me see if there are sources like that out there. I will check and get back to you
Hi there, Tails Wx, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to see you now intend to devote some of your editing time to writing about women. If you can develop biographies with the same level of detail as in your articles about weather disasters, you'll certainly be a useful member of the project. In this connection, you might find some useful tips in our Primer. Please let me know if you run into any problems or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:50, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Hey there, @Ipigott! Yes, I'm working to start articles for women in sports, and if ya haven't noticed, I've began working on Draft:Sara Scalia, an American college basketball player for Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball, and likely starting work shortly on Lexus Bargesser, another women's basketball player for the same team. Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll push my efforts for high-quality articles about women's basketball players, similar to my articles about severe weather events! :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:10, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed you'd made a one-line start on Sara Scalia. That's no doubt what prompted you to join WiR. I've also been reassessing your articles, upgrading quite a few to the B class they deserve. Good to hear we can expect high quality coverage of women basketball players. I look forward to seeing them on mainspace.--Ipigott (talk) 14:34, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Just letting you know that I'll be on holiday with very little internet from tomorrow until the 3rd of April, so if there's any issues to address with the Tapir! GA nomination I may not be able to reply for up to a week. Thanks! Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 11:45, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
No worries, @Suntooooth! After I'm finished with my review, I'll give ya plenty of time to complete any fixes and to address any comments. :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:39, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 26 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 27 March. It will be on all wikis from 28 March (calendar). [19][20]
It was published before and everything seemed fine. I don't understand fully why it was declined. I know the person who made it didn't do the best job at references but they are there. Is there anyway you can help publish it ? I can give you all exact details? Ildivino1010 (talk) 20:14, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Yeah! So you're correct that it was in mainspace previously, but was moved to draftspace by Ponyo here, as it was not ready for mainspace and also due to persistent UPE concerns targeting the page. Now, I (and a few other reviewers) declined the draft because the subject, Mikhail, didn't meet, per the sources in the draft, the general notability guideline nor notability guidelines for biographies. I also see a {{Paid contributions}} tag – that'll also have to be resolved as well before it is moved back to mainspace. There is this source in the draft that's a good start – try finding more reliable, secondary sources with significant coverage of Mikhail similar to that source! I'll be happy to do a source review for the references in the draft, or to help you in any way to try and establish notability of Mikhail – including attempting to find notability-estabilishing sources! (Courtesy ping (@Ildivino1010!) :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 22:08, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
That is one link and the president of this football club is a senator and his main page also features Mikhail as a new signing. Would this work ? Thank you for all your help ! Ildivino1010 (talk) 07:48, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Hmm. This may not be a reliable source since it's a blog, and also might be routine coverage, which may not be enough to establish notability of Mikhail. Are there other reliable, secondary sources, other than the blog, that offer significant coverage of him? (Courtesy ping @Ildivino1010!) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 14:01, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
I will attach 3 articles. One is the countries official sporting website news nb1 which is the first division. It covers when Mikhail arrived with Canadian players to Hungary. The other is the county official media that the blog took the article from. The third is just a random one of many interviews from Canada second division website media team on their official website. [22]https://nb1.hu/nb1/puskas-akademia-kanadai-jatekosok-erkezhetnek-tavozott-a-magyar-tehetseg/
Focidrukker.com – two paragraphs mentioning him, sadly, isn't significant coverage. It could back up content in the draft, though it's not enough to establish notability.
League 1 Ontario – interviews aren't secondary coverage, it's rather primary as it's an interview.
The last thing I could find is transfermarkt and Mikhail Instagram. He is verified. Transfermarkt is only for professional players and coaches and is the first thing football teams , agent , coaches look for.
Now, if you were to be the author of the only substantial content in the draft, you would have requested {{Db-g7}}; but since others have edited it, the draft is therefore ineligible for G7. However, if the draft is gone unedited for six months, then it can be deleted under G13. Otherwise, I can't find an option for the draft to be deleted. (Courtesy ping @Ildivino1010!) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 15:04, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
The article went beyond 6 months and was not deleted which is why I started this dialog. All I'm trying to do is get this back ou lished the way it was before. The editing was what got it removed which shouldn't have happened. Notability in Hungary is different then per say USA as there are much more news outlets. In Hungary not many. So to get one article is enough especially the nb1 website mention along with focidrukker. I see coaches in lower level then this with less articles that have a wikipedia. Instagram and Facebook should become eventually reliable because you need to show government i.d in order to get verified. I hope we can resolve this. Ildivino1010 (talk) 15:37, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, but when was the draft not edited in a six-month period? The closest large time-span was a near-four month period of no editing, but otherwise, I don't see the draft being edited past six months.
Can you clarify what you mean by "notability in Hungary is different than per say USA"? This is the English Wikipedia, not the Hungarian Wikipedia. I'm not sure what the notability guidelines are on the Hungarian Wikipedia, but I imagine it's similar to the English Wikipedia's. Additionally, one source isn't enough to establish notability, especially if it doesn't have significant coverage of the subject. There has to be multiple presumed, published sources that are reliable and secondary, and also should contain significant coverage of the subject. And as stated above, Instagram isn't a reliable source, and Facebook isn't one either! ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 21:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
A Request
Hello there,
I couldn't help but notice the lovely aroace flag strip on your userpage—it's absolutely beautiful! I really really loved it. I was hoping to add a Gay male pride flag over my userpage similarly but I don't how to ? Since, I do not know that much about coding. Would you be willing to lend a hand? No pressure at all, of course! Please do not feel obliged to do so.
Hiya, @PrinceofPunjab! I will be more than happy to create a stripe to the flag you listed above very shortly. And thanks so much for your compliment! I'm lovin' it as well. :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 15:01, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
On 26 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kevin Davis (police officer), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that police officer Kevin Davis's father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all served in public safety? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kevin Davis (police officer). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Kevin Davis (police officer)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
On 26 March 2024, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article M. Emmet Walsh, which you updated and nicely tidied up the referencing. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 23:40, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm planning on updating some stations to have the accessibility logo inside of them , i know i need to put 1ACC inside however i do not want to damage the rest of the structure.
I am planning on adding Jean-Drapeaux as accessible (source can be a literal photo of the station) McGill apparently was forgotten to be added and that's it for now (source the official stm website) --Filyx20 (talk) 22:57, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Hiya, @Filyx20! I've implemented both changes here and here. Both stations' articles have references for the accessibility of the stations, so I have no concerns about verifiability. Thanks, and feel free to ask additional questions on the template or anything else! :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 03:30, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi,
Wikipedia mentions that talk must be supported by references, citations etc.
If this is a creation, an innovation, etc.
It is more difficult to bring proof of the existence of what is described. Then how can I bring proof in this circumstance?
regards
Yann --Jaodrenn (talk) 10:42, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
First off, it's alright if you don't respond quickly, @Jaodrenn! Some of us, like me, are busy these days. :(
Now, for the sources in your article, neuroflexibility, there is a list of them, but they aren't sourced inline. Additionally, there are multiple issues in the present, please do fix them! Let me know if you need any help in doing so. :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 15:38, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
7&6=thirteen (☎) has given you a Dobos torte to enjoy! Seven layers of fun because you deserve it.
To give a Dobos torte and spread the WikiLove, just place {{subst:Dobos Torte}} on someone else's talkpage, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
Hey there, @7&6=thirteen! Thanks for the Dobos torte! I'm pretty sure this is regarding M. Emmet Walsh, so thanks for your help as well! It was a ton of effort to put into to get the article into the Main Page. :) ~ TailsWx (🐾, me!) 21:13, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
337,000 page views and counting. Getting this through WP:ITN is tough. When you have someone this prolific ... the readers got the benefit of the improved article. Good job! 7&6=thirteen (☎)21:59, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
Much effort was spent drafting a movement charter about becoming "essential infrastructure of the ecosystem of free knowledge". How much is spent maintaining it?
