Hello!

I know the questioning period hasn’t started yet, but I saw your question on my RfA and wanted to address it. I hope that’s allowed! I am confident that all will be well once I have had my scan and procedure; I could potentially receive a diagnosis there and then, but some things can take up to two weeks to diagnose with this, from what I’ve heard. By the end of the month all should be well again (and that’s when the results of the elections will be announced!). I appreciate your concern though - your question was a perfectly valid one. Thanks for the reply. If it's a non-chronic issue then the question is moot. My only concern is that WP:ADMINACCT is a thing and I've seen too many admins disappear when under a critical eye over medical issues. So if its not chronic, then there is no issue. If it is chronic but won't drag you away immediately after a controversial admin action, then it's also not an issue.--v/r - TP 18:00, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hope you don't mind me butting in here, TParis, but I saw the question when you first posted it, and I hope you know that WP:ANIFLU isn't an actual physical illness, and has very little to do with chronic illnesses. Trust me, as somebody who is both a serial flake and has some health things that get in the way of my Wiki editing, I put a lot of effort into being so erratic and dismissing it all on my health just undermines my effort. 😛 GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 23:29, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
LOL GreenLipstickLesbian! I'd like to reassure you both that it won't ever come to that. If I make mistakes, I'll apologise - not run away from them (or fake my own deterioration/death!!). I'll always wish to be held fully accountable for my actions and would be more than happy to be open to recall. For what it's worth, if this health issue turns out to be what I suspect it is, then I will be able to start a course of medication for it a short period after the scan/procedure and (hopefully!) that'll be the long-term management plan. Of course, we're all humans and can't guarantee we'll be here tomorrow, but as far as I firmly believe, things will look up for me on the health front very soon. Sorry, I'm not asking you to reveal your medical history. My only concern is the decades of other people using health as a reason to disappear at the start of an Arbcom cases; or particular when their contributions are under scrutiny. Your comment about not being available for your own Administrator election until after a certain date is what sparked the concern. You don't have to reveal details to us. I am confident with your own assessment of your own situation.--v/r - TP 14:11, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, it’s all good; I feel it provides some context as to the situation, so am more than happy to disclose some details. The reason I won’t be able to answer questions on the first day they open is because I’ll be in hospital, but the day after that I’ll be able to engage with the process fully. I will not be away for any other reason during the election period. Patient Zerotalk 14:53, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's reasonable. Again, I am reacting based off a history of administrators trying to avoid scrutiny. It doesn't look like thats the case here and as long as it won't be in the case in the future, I am satisfied. Your comment gave me slight pause, is all.--v/r - TP 18:08, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear it, and glad I could help clarify matters for you! Patient Zerotalk 23:00, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for WikiProject Military history coordinators is now open!

Nominations for the upcoming Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September.
