Microgenres page

Why do you remove so many genres from List of microgenres. I get it if a genre isn't linked on Wikipedia, but garage-psych and pigfuck for example already have links on Wikipedia, what's the need for a source? Clicking the link there's sources there. Doesn't that just clutter the page? I'll re-add these with sources but I don't understand that really. Unless you want explicit mention of these genres being microgenres? But a lot of additions on that page don't have that in their sources... Aradicus77 (talk) 20:53, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just add a source where the genre is explicitly called a microgenre in a direct quote. This list was once in question for deletion or merging and was kept only to be supported by direct quotes from reliable sources stating that each entry is a microgenre. In the articles themselves, the term is used inconsistently and is often applied at the editors’ discretion, rather than according to sources. The only unsourced entries were those listed in the "Other genres" section — this is precisely where everything without sources was placed, as it formally falls under the "See also" section. As for the main list, I double-checked it about a year ago to ensure that all entries were mentioned as microgenres. Solidest (talk) 23:32, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
