September 2008Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Agunah has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\byoutube\.com' (link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEUvLW9PzkI) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest). If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place DiasporaFirstly thank you for notifying me on my talk page that the article on the Australian diaspora was under discussion. I went back and reviewed my edits at the time of the article creation. I recall that I was also somewhat skeptical of the term (and I am a "white middle-class Australian" ;-) ). I wrote the article in response to some edits I was doing at the time of the article on Demographics of Australia . Trawling back through the edit history of that article, the paragraph mentioning Australian diaspora was added in June 2004 by an editor who edited only briefly . He did in fact also add the phenomenon to the article on diaspora. I have checked the top google hits for "Australian diaspora" and your speculation that a "substantial proportion of these google hits would come from a) Australian Aboriginal diasporas and b) people escaping actual diasporas migrating to Australia" is not realised for those at the top of the list. While wikipedia does not depend on google hits to assert notability, the fact that the topic does come up with a significant number of hits is a guide to notability while not being a conclusive argument. I have no difficulty with the article being moved to say Australian expatriate community or some other name including Emmigration from Australia. I think that the article on Demographics of Australia is sufficiently large that a merger into that article is not useful. But other than opposing deletion, I am not really fussy about a debate on the topic. --Matilda talk 22:21, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Stewart articleLet me know when you've grabbed it so I can remove it. Orderinchaos 04:17, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
International rankings of Aus (FSI)But it does imply that least failed = most sustainable, and, to avoid confusion, I think it's important to note that lower rankings on the FSI are actually desirable. If you can find a better way of clarifying that, then go ahead. Maybe just "sustainable" in green text; green representing top score on the main FSI website (red = lowest score). And, I'm not trying to hype Australia as some great utopia of top index rankings :/ Hence the addition of indexes where Australia ranks rather dismally, like the Environmental Performance Index. We're also performing poorly in a bunch of other indexes, like the Gender Gap Index and the Life Satisfaction Index... GarrieFerron 04:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
