Although I agree that Theoneiammassivelyjealousof (talk · contribs) is almost surely a sock puppet, the edit on Rolling Stone (Suzi Quatro song), removing information about Quattro's influence, is actually entirely logical. The information is question is duplicated from the Suzi Quatro article, and was controversial enough there to require a discussion there. Dear Wikipedia Editors/Moderators: Thank you for replying to me. I am using the current references in the article. I have provided a new reference below that will be better to add more acting credits to the article and make it more fair, neutral, balanced, and impartial. I also thank you for offering your assistance with the editing. I am in India and having some difficulties with this. Please do the editing for me:

ACTING CAREER: Proposed new reference: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm131409/ This reference can be used to add ALL of Comisar's acting credits to "Acting Career" section of article. I have seen this website used as a reference on Wikipedia to verify credits of hundreds of actors. By adding more acting credits, the article will be more impartial, fair, neutral, unbiased, and balanced. (See WP: Neutrality) Please also restore all acting credits previously deleted. There is a lot more to add to "Acting Career" found on the above website. (The above site also has individual pages for each movie and TV show that can be used separately for each acting credit).

FIRST SENTENCE: The body of the article does mention that Comisar is an actor and an author, however, this should also be mentioned in the first sentence. While best known as a notable criminal, Comisar is also an actor and author. Standing alone, Comisar is less notable if he were only a con man, or only an author, or only an actor. But the unique combination of all three makes it noteworthy in the first sentence, solely because he IS all of these. The current first sentence mentions "extortionist" however, Comisar has only one minor conviction for this crime. (He's much more notable as an actor and author than an extortionist.) It is not "unbiased" to mention extortionist in the first sentence without also mentioning "American actor" and "author." (The order of careers in the proposed first sentence are in order of what Comisar is most notable for. The reference links below verify each career.) Kindly edit/change first sentence to:

Hello Amit. I'd like to help, but the numbers in brackets don't make it clear which references you're proposing. For actor, the IMDB link can be used, although it's not the most reliable of sources. Which reference do you propose for his work as an author? Ruby Murray 12:42, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

I noted his film role in the intro, using the IMDB reference you noted above. Another editor has reverted this, correctly noting that following discussion at the talk page the consensus was that he really isn't notable as an actor or writer, but as a con man, so the intro isn't the best place to mention the film roles. Yes I've read his IMDB page carefully (it's not very long) and I had already added it to the "Acting career" section 4 days ago. His earliest role was in 1984, when he was 23 years old, so I'm not sure how adding "at a young age" is helpful. They were all minor roles. That page says nothing about commercials. Since you are such a competent Wikipedia editor, would you please write an article for Comisar's book, "America's Guide to Fraud Prevention?" The book is notable and has many reliable sources on the internet. In fact, most of these sources are in the references used for the Comisar article. Most all of these references mention the book. Take a look. I just read the book on Amazon/Kindle and it was surprisingly good. You could use a lot of the Comisar article in the article for the book, as the author is Steve Comisar, and he is notable. It is clear that both the author and the book are notable.

Finally, you can use any image of the book cover on the internet for the article, as they are all identical, and would not infringe on copyrights. Please let me know if you can do this. The book should have it's own Wikipedia article, and whom better to write it than someone so familiar with the author. (and you are a very knowledgeable Wikipedia editor) Your colleagues, such as Frze, Reddogsix, and anyone else reading this are also invited to contribute to the creation of this new article. Soon I will have learned enough to write my own articles.

I've just had a read of Wikipedia:Notability (books), and it doesn't seem that America's Guide to Fraud Prevention is notable enough as a book for its own article, though its author is notable, and as you said, the book is mentioned in Steve Comisar. The references for the book in that article only mention the book in passing, in articles about Comisar, and I can't find substantial coverage of the book itself online from reliable sources, just listings on book search sites and eBay. So a new article on the book would probably just get redirected back to Steve Comisar. Ruby Murray 13:51, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

However, Reddogsix adding "minor supporting roles" to "Acting career" was completely redundant and grammatically incorrect. This is improper grammar and improper syntax. I would ask that you please correct this error. --

Please remove the word "minor" before supporting roles in "Acting career." Obviously, all supporting roles are smaller roles. Everybody knows this. It is redundant and totally superfluous to add the word "minor" before the word supporting. It is also not proper grammar or syntax. Please delete the word "minor" and justify it by stating the obvious. Using proper grammar and proper syntax, the correct way to phrase this sentence is, "He also had supporting roles in the motion pictures..." Please edit this. (We do not say, "the short midget" or "the wet water") - [Elements of Style, 1965] --

This is so incredibly frustrating for me to see how some Wikipedia editors will go out of their way to make the Comisar article as negative as possible just because he is a criminal. Fairness, objectivity, and neutrality should apply to everyone. Some of the editors find it impossible to remain impartial and follow Wikipedia policy. I hope you agree with me on this obvious point and delete this one word, "minor." Thank you.

The grammar and usage are fine. I don't see a problem with neutrality either: he's not very well known for his acting career, as they were all minor supporting roles, and shouldn't be given any greater weight than they have already. The only reference we even have for his acting roles is IMDB, which is not a reliable source. It's fair, objective and neutral. I don't plan to make any more changes to the article. Hello Inkaclassic. Please have a read of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons: we need to reference claims in articles about living people. So I've removed many unsourced claims from the article, but I've also fixed several of the broken references there. I've also removed the Amazon and AllMusic links, because they were sales links to pages where you can buy the album, which is also discouraged by Wikipedia policy. I have given up trying to contribute to a page on a topic I am an expert in because I'm tired of dealing with the editor who is squatting on it. To this end, I am removing my discussions (the thing I wrote). This appears to be impossible as the nth+1 random wikipedia editor keeps appearing and reverting. The problem is that you're not just deleting your own comments, you're also deleting those of other editors. I won't revert your repeated deletion at User_talk:Qwertyus, but other editors are within their rights to restore their own comments, especially at their own talk page. And if only your posts are deleted, the replies to your posts won't make any sense. There's more info on refactoring talk pages at Wikipedia:Refactoring talk pages. I would like to know why my post was deleted. TCH invented zip clamps which is an industry first. All products were prototyped, 3D printed in-house to create this. It is a major component in ATA flight case technology and TCH holds the patent for this product. Even Cirque du Soleil and the Stanley Cup cases are made with zip clamps. Company is an OEM so they do not want to name-drop, but it is definitely a notable product. Please advise and TIA Champagne86 (talk) 16:03, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Ruby, thank you for the quick response. Zip Clamps were featured on the Desjardins ad installed on Cirque du Soleil flight cases. Uploaded image link here. Also Stanley Cup cases were made by Clydesdale Custom Cases previously (link) and FlightForm (link) recently. These cases also feature TCH zip clamps. Please note the issue here is that the flight case industry does not have a lot of educational literature online and I believe an article about TCH Zip Clamps would be an educational benefit to people who want to make flight cases at home or an engineer who needs more information.Champagne86 (talk) 17:29, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Because TCH manufactures these latches/clamps and the industry is highly competitive, the case builders will not publicly reveal their sources etc. The patent for the recessed latch (at least two per cases mentioned above) is in the link here, more drawings can be found here. Zip clamp patent application is here. Also, the companies can be contacted directly to provide proof from the engineers on who manufactured their latches. Also to add, TCH invented Zip Clamps to allow small case builders and at-home hobbyists to make cases easily at home. Without this invention it is extremely hard for small case builders to keep their business afloat and hobbyists to be able to build cases on their own. Champagne86 (talk)

The patents alone won't be enough, if the case builders won't say that TCH's patented tech is used in their product. Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) says that we need "significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources". If TCH is that important to small builders and hobbyists, then there must be some sort of discussion about them in a trade or hobbyist's magazine, or similar? On Wikipedia, claims in articles, especially biographies of living persons, need to be verified by references from independent, reliable sources. I will remove the promotional language from the article to get rid of the COI tag, but we can't remove the BLP references tag until there are sufficient references from reliable sources. Sorry, but no: you're not allowed to add copyrighted text to Wikipedia: this is explained better in Wikipedia:Copyright violations. The text was also blatant marketing, which is fine for your company's website, but definitely not allowed on Wikipedia, and there are no "brand pages" in an encyclopedia. You could sort out the licensing following the procedure at WP:IOWN, but even if copyright is sorted out, it's heavily promotional, and a lot of what's there would simply be removed on the grounds that it's advertising. For example, "Two new warehouses were acquired to increase stock holding and continue providing a first class service to our customers. Not forgetting our test track that every bike we sell is tested and ridden on, ensuring they truly are Ready to Ride", and "This shows our value and commitment to sport, in particular ladies sport.". As I am sure you already know there are a ton of editors to the page with clear connections with the film. The edit history illustrates their numerous attempts towards adding back tons of content and you going through and reverting it because it is more than unnecessary. The users attempting to add back in this information only have edits to Kamasutra 3D. One of the active editors of the page, Rpplsritama, recently posted on my talk page stating the following:

"Hello...May I know why are you so interested in editing the Kamasutra 3D page with all wrong informations? Would be good if you don't edit it further."

I replied. Then he went ahead and responded with this:

The article you started is indeed well written and well researched. I'd prefer to see it improved and kept, if we could find substantial coverage about him, such as an interview in a national newspaper, a substantial profile in a trade magazine, that kind of thing. But if we can't find that, then it will be deleted in a few days. We could merge some of the referenced information about his work to the airfield article in the meantime. Actually, I had a look at the cited LoveFilm page, and it looks like half of the reviews are from authors who write in a manner very similar to Mr Easter saying how great the films are, and the other half are disgruntled people that have rented them on the basis of those reviews... Today I was writing and editing a page on the musician Pádraig Rynne when I suddenly received this "A tag has been placed on Pádraig Rynne, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteri...". I have read the guidelines again and read the article and cannot see any suggestion of promotion on it. The article is on the musician, his history as a musician, his recording history and his band history. Hi Harry. The deleting admin was User:JamesBWatson - you could leave a message at his talk page, asking him to undelete it to your user sandbox, where you can work on making it less promotional. Before you put too much more work in on it though, best to first read Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles, and make sure he's notable enough for an article by Wikipedia guidelines. I see that Dennis Lewin's page is up for consideration to be deleted. Although I am not the originator of his Wikipedia page I do have knowledge of his accomplishments past and present. I have made several requests for links to other articles not mentioned on his current page so it can be a more complete computation of his career.

As for your comment about changing his page from Dennis Lewin to Beau Coup: I'd like to bring to your attention that even though Dennis Lewin was one of the band members he also wrote 99% of their songs including their hits "Sweet Rachel", "Born & Raised on Rock N Roll", and "Somewhere out in the Night". Dennis is the only member of Beau Coup ythat is still writing music and contributing to the music community in Cleveland, Ohio.

His current accomplishments and notoriety stem from his radio program "The Dennis Lewin Radio Program". He has become internationally known for this program as it airs in Cleveland, New Hampshire, Indonesia, and formerly on the BBC, and in Houston, Texas.

Hi Lana. In biographies of living persons, we have to carefully source everything. I've left in the content that is supported by references, but any sort of contentious claims, positive or negative, must be immediately removed if they're unreferenced. I left them in for a few days because you wrote that you had references, but most of the references didn't mention him, so the claims had to be removed. You're right to assume good faith, but have a glance at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/SEFPRODUCTIONS/Archive. Note that one of the blocked socks (HFOC I think) made a few edits about endangered parrots, ostensibly to look less like a WP:SPA. Bat21777 has done likewise with a bat article. I've looked at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive831#String of Volleyball Thailand League pages, and the consensus there seems to be to salt the articles rather than to block the editor. I think the editor in question simply doesn't understand what the problem is with the articles: this is possibly a language issue. One idea might be to ask at Thai Wikipedia for someone fluent in English and Thai to try posting in Thai at the editor's talk page and explain the situation. Another possible solution is a bundled AFD: since they're all in what claims to be a national league, it's possible that the clubs are notable, and Sora2537 just isn't able to reference the articles properly here. A second account has also started editing the articles, User:Yoonasora. This might be sockpuppetry, but there are other possibilities too, so let's try to assume good faith until proven wrong. Hey there, I so appreciate your peacock and advert tags on the Jamie Masada page, I rewrote and edited and cut down because you were dead on! I pulled from some rather lofty bios and definitely needed to edit them down to the real, important facts. I do think he's a person of note though, so I would love for your input on how to keep the page from being taken down. I see you deleted an article I posted about the artist, Tyler Ramsey: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Ramsey_(artist). An article on him was recently (yesterday?) deleted on the grounds of Ramsey's not being notable. I had previously contacted Salvio giuliano, the administrator who had deleted the original article on Tyler Ramsey, citing and linking to facts about Ramsey that make him notable. Salvio giuliano's page says, "Salvio giuliano is currently experiencing health issues that may affect his ability to work on Wikipedia." Despite this, when I typed my (entirely new) article on Ramsey, I believed that Salvio giuliano reversed his decision to delete the original, based on my message to Salvio giuliano. I thought the existence of space for me to type the article indicated that the decision to delete had been reversed (I am new to Wikipedia, as you can tell). I hope you will review the new article on Ramsey, and that you will be persuaded that my new article (if not the old one deleted by Salvio giuliano) meets the notability requirement for Wikipedia.

Well an editor sent me a notice that I needed to differentiate John Gorman because there where a few others in Wikipedia. So now his name is referenced as John Gorman (radio) in the Beau Coup article. I'm sure there are other Beau Coup (something)s out there that one day will possibly have a page. Ruby, I need to complain about Editor, Levdr1lostpassword‎, He is arrogant and rude. He is the one that originally nominated Dennis Lewin's page for deletion. When Dennis' page wasn't going to happen I started working on Beau Coup's page to make it better and more informed. I listed all the band members names and was listing the songs list and he deleted ALL of it right in my face. If you go to his talk page you can see what he said to me. I just don't understand. This guy is obviously from Cleveland judging from his activity being all Cleveland pages. Maybe he doesn't like Dennis or the Band, heck I don't know. I am just blown away that he can just delete all my work just because he 'can'. Sorry for the rant but I was trying to list informative data on the page and he just discarded it. @Mmcard59: Yes, I'm from Northeast Ohio, and yes, I'm a member of WikiProject Cleveland. It's unfair (not to mention inaccurate) to say that I've deleted "all" of your work at Beau Coup as the majority of the article remains intact. I also have no connection to the subject whatsoever -- I'd never heard of Lewin or Beau Coup before you created the article the article was created (clearly you have, and I'm beginning to suspect there may be some kind of conflict of interest going on here). I also think you're mistaking "arrogance" and "rudeness" for directness. Consensus determined that Lewin was not notable enough for his own article. I would have tagged the unreferenced material with "citation needed" for a day or two before deleting, but other editors are within policy when deleting unreferenced claims, especially about living people. I'm also surprised to read that you have no connection with the former band, when you referenced the article with a new page on Lewin's website that's titled "Wikipedia fact check", and you wrote above that "Dennis Lewin has sent the email authorizing their use." Good morning Ruby! Please let me explain....I first learned about Dennis Lewin and his program a few years ago when he aired his radio program on a local Houston station which I enjoyed. I am from the Cleveland area but moved to Texas in 1980 before Beau Coup even existed. I first came to Wiki because my son, who was raised in Texas, and coincidently plays NFL football for the Cleveland Browns Tank Carder has a page and I wanted to see it. I even uploaded some pics on his page that were deleted for copyright issues. I then searched for different people to see if they were there, Dennis Lewin being one of them. I saw all the deletion notices and thought it would be fun to help save the page. I didn't know Dennis, I only felt a connection from listening to a radio program done by someone that was from Cleveland. Back when I was originally working on Dennis Lewin's page I first learned that I violated copyright laws by uploading pictures that I found on the internet to his page. I thought that anything on the web was basically public use. Being new to Wiki I didn't understand the stringent guidelines when editing so when the issue came up I claimed rights to them as if I had gotten them directly from Lewin. My mistake. Then in an effort to save the pictures I contacted Mr. Lewin via his website and asked him if he could send an email which contained the pictures so that they wouldn't be deleted, which he did. We did discuss how everything that went on his page needed to be backed up. The link you are referring to from his website is something he did in an effort to help me show notability since it was he that wrote the music. I'm unclear how I could be connected to that because I have no access to his site to create anything like that. My efforts to prove his notability per Wikipedia guidelines failed and it was reverted to the Beau Coup page which both pages were created by someone other than me. From what Dennis and his friend Tommy Amato sent me plus what I found on the internet I started trying to make the page really informational and interesting. Anyway, the last 12 hours have been very enlightening for me and I will send Levdr1lostpassword a message today and do my best to adhere to the guidelines and work together to make a good page. I became angry with him because I had put so much work into that and it was late. I just felt he should have messaged me to guide me instead of just deleting most everything that was there even before I came into it when Wiki deemed it a good page. Thanks for your understanding and help as always. I enjoy editing and I don't want to struggle with fellow editors. Amherst Records sent an email giving permission to use the album cover pictures in the Beau Coup Wikipedia page. If, as you have stated, you believe that the Litarodi article should not be speedily deleted, but would be better at AFD, then you should remove the speedy deletion tag from the article. As an independent editor, that is within your rights. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 15:54, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Hey there. Thanks for that - I did remove the speedy tag once, and was going to post an explanation at your talk page (but got called away from the PC, sorry). Then a second editor came along and speedied it again, so I wasn't quite sure if I needed to use a hangon tag instead. Since nothing's happened for three hours, I assume that some admins somewhere are doing a wait-and-see, but if there's no rule against removing the speedy a second time, then I'll remove the tag again, thanks. He doesn't seem notable as a musician, but seems to have had significant coverage from WP:RS as a Christian evangelist, and I think the article could survive and AFD on WP:BIO. The article "Grant Dalgliesh" was speedily deleted. This is not reasonable. I am a noted game designer with many design credits. My games have been played and loved by gamers all around the world. I am quite well known in that regard. I was in the process of adding for references when the article was deleted. Most of my peers as game designers are listed in the wikipedia - if you'd just give me a little time to input all the data, you'd probably agree... Hi JY. Have a look at WP:MUSICBIO and WP:Reliable sources: what's needed is independent, reliable sources to show that you're notable as a musician. I haven't found any yet, but you might know of some. Be extra careful when writing about yourself though: writing an WP:Autobiography is generally frowned on in Wikipedia, and if the article goes to a deletion discussion, any kind of self-promotion will count against the article.
