Why an encyclopeiac template has a piece of chinese text The Classic of Rites was one of the Five Classics of Confucianism; it described social forms, ancient rites, and court ceremonies. - which in the strictest sense is not literature at all - but a chinese cultural and philosophical text... any thoughts ?

Hi, @JarrahTree:, it would help if you linked to the template (?) you are asking about.

It searched for that text and could not find it. Possibly you are talking about the "Description" text in the image File:Liji2.jpg itself? - That description is written on Commons (where the image is located).

oh... I checked the file's "Usage" section, and I now understand that it is used as the image in Template:Literature. Therefor, you should check the revision history of the template, see who added it, and then ping them in a new section on the Template's talkpage, along with a suggestion on what (if anything) to replace it with.
