My dear Wikipedian Phoenix 15, CreditsThis RFA thanks was inspired by The Random Editor, who in turn was inspired by Phaedriel's RFA thanks. So unfortunately this is not entirely my own design. This end the usual RFA thanks spam. You may return to your regular editing now. Welcome!![]() Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history. A few features that you might find helpful:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Eurocopter tigre 20:56, 11 October 2007 (UTC) I posted the Cabal case before I realize you'd closed it. I think that closing it was the right thing to do. Frankly, I believe that Mpublius is simply forum shopping. He didn't get the result he wanted with the RfC that he filed, so he picked another dispute resolution. Consensus on the talk page is pretty clear, particularly Famspear's arguments which, while verbose, are very well reasoned. Anyway, thanks for taking the case. I appreciate your time. Into The Fray T/C 21:09, 11 October 2007 (UTC) My recent RfAThank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace, so that is what I will do. I will go for another RfA in two month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been two months. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! -- Cobi(t|c|b|cn) 01:53, 12 October 2007 (UTC) <laughs bitterly>I was on the IRC channel for about six hours that day. Not a single person went on. Do you want a normal assessment parameter and a checklist? Or an assessment automatically generated by the checklist? If you could come up with an example of (a) what you would put on a talk page together with (b) what the resulting template would say, it would be very helpful. (There is no standard "C-Class", incidentally; I'd suggest using the normal "Start-Class" if you want to be compatible with the assessment-tracking bots.) Kirill 01:34, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: A-Class reviewsAdded the review and the task force links; please test and let me know if everything works as expected. You'll need to pick your own images for the task forces eventually; I've just used the base project image for the time being. (You haven't told me if you're interested in having {{WPMILHIST}} automatically generate history project assessment categories, incidentally.) Kirill 20:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
SuggestionIf I may make a suggestion to you regarding membership at the History Project: Perhaps it would be a good idea to note on the mebership page that those members whose names are listed on subprojects of the history project are considered members of the history project, while asking other history subprojects to note that members listed in those projects are automatically considered part of the history project. In this manner you may be able to cut down on the membership list by allowing Users whose interested are not already represented to sign up on the parent project page. Just a thought. I'd suggest, incidentally, that you may want to make sure that all these new pages that are being set up are linked from the navigation template in some sensible way; otherwise, people are likely to get lost in the infrastructure. :-) Kirill 20:12, 21 October 2007 (UTC) Wikipedia:AccessibilityI noticed your move of Wikipedia:Accessibility to Wikipedia:Article accessibility and for the moment have undone it. This was because a) though you seem to have intentions to create a new page you hadn't done so in 2+ hours, and b) the move created lots of double redirects. I'll be interested in your ideas and have no problem with you performing the move again when you are ready to write down your ideas. violet/riga (t) 21:54, 22 October 2007 (UTC) History bannerLet me know when the history banner is done, and I'll make up all the categories and whatnot for the various aspects of the project once I know the exact terms used in the banner. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Ralbot 14:39, 29 October 2007 (UTC) Fair use rationale for Image:March_on_Rome_painting.JPG![]() Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:March_on_Rome_painting.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Military historyI note that you requested Kirill to place all the Military history articles in the History project statistics. He just told me as much. If you honestly believe that they should all be included in the History project's stats, well and good. Personally, though, I think the project would be best served if we only listed those articles the project itself actively deals with. That would allow for greater focused attention on them. I think MILHIST does a good enough job dealing with the articles it already deals with. John Carter 18:41, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject AgricultureYou walked into a firestorm, hopefully you only had to observe the carnage. The little attitude I may have given you at Wikipedia:WikiProject History was nothing compared to what those folks put out. Please look around the project page and discussion for things you can do and add ideas of your own. I look forward to editing with you for the improvement of Agricultural articles (and history for that matter, but that's another story).;)--Doug.(talk • contribs) 00:20, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
I received a personal welcome some time after joining WP:LAW and thought it was a good idea. It's been easy so far, since we just got started and I was initially just thanking people for signing up and so were some of the other early members. Now it seems to just be me, but it's still small enough to manage and others are always to welcome to take up the banner and send the welcome message instead of me (or in addition, the larger the welcoming party the better!) --Doug.(talk • contribs) 04:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC) Replied.
