Amusement Park WikiProjectHello One. Recently, the Amusement Parks WikiProject was reformatted and revived. As part of this process other related WikiProjects (such as Disneyland, Herschend Family Entertainment, Universal Parks & Resorts and Walt Disney World) were also revived and have now become part of the Amusement Park WikiProject as task forces. If you would like to remain listed as a member on these WikiProjects please re-add your name to the appropriate lists at the participants page. All names currently on the list have been cleared. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thank you for your cooperation, Themeparkgc Talk 08:11, 6 November 2010 (UTC). SchuminWeb (Talk) 20:58, 19 November 2010 (UTC) Can I ask how you reached the conclusions that this was no-consensus. While the votes were evenly split the delete side referenced policy and clearly demonstrated the lack of in depth secondary sourcing outside trivial mentions, primary sources and press releases. The keep side were uniformly arguments to avoid such as unsourced assertions, and even confirming that references were mentions. Please can you expand how you weighed the votes or revisit the close? Spartaz Humbug! 04:41, 20 December 2010 (UTC) My RfAI (Guoguo12) have withdrawn my nomination and would like to thank you personally for your opinons. But why you, seeing as your !vote wasn't all that enlightening by the time you wrote it? Let me elucidate: I am curious as to how one (pun not intended) can !vote oppose because of "time-related concerns" in one hand and claim that RfA is dead in the other. Was it not you that described how you passed with only 1,400 edits five years ago? Was it not you that said the following?
And was it not you who so accurately claimed that "we almost expect prospective admins to be machines nowadays"? Do believe me when I say that I am in no way irritated because of your !vote; I was bound to fail, and for reasons that I had already predicted. I am merely confused. So, I would be happy if you could enlighten me as to your opinions on the RfA system. Is it broken? Dead? Or is it merely changed, like I said in my withdrawl statement? And if the latter, ought we to fix it or not? Guoguo12--Talk-- 02:51, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your question. While I do agree that people get caught up over ludicrous details, I consider the amount of time contributed to Wikipedia to actually be quite important. I hope that even if you disagree that you have contributed here for too little time, you agree that it's a fair reason to object someone's RFA candidacy. Not to mention that I probably passed RFA by sheer luck and not because my record was sterling, exactly. In any case, it's definitely possible for you to become an admin one of these days -- a lot of people fail on the first try. Just keep on doing good things and I might consider supporting you in the future. One two three... 03:49, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

MSU InterviewDear One, My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I will be more than happy to speak with you. Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
