I wedged in the Erie origins of American Gladiators (1989 TV series) into the article. I think it ought to stick, but will doubtless be revised a few times. The wrestlers have been wrestling with the article since the 2008 version of the show came on the air recently. Hearts Content, Pennsylvania is definetly wrong. That seems to imply that it is a townsip, borough or city. I would go with the Fed name. They have jurisdiction over it. Correct? Dincher (talk) 21:51, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm. The USGS GNIS has it as "Hearts Conent Recreation Site" with "Hearts Content Recreation Area" as one of three alternate names [1]. The USGS topo maps have it as Hearts Content Recreation Area [2]. I think I would leave it where it is since the Forest service uses that. Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 23:53, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

The story was on the front page of the City and Region section of the ETN on Sunday. We did decide to include outlying counties, so Meadville seems to fit the parameters. Do you have any thoughts on whether I need to go gender neutral on the List of Congressmen who have represented Erie, Pennsylvania piece I posted recently? It dawns on me that there is a trend towards using Member of Congress instead. I think mine might be the first such article of this sort, so I'd hate to start a trend with a boorish title at the top. If it needs to be changed, could you explain how it's done or point to a Wiki page that explains the process? If it can't wait a couple of days, feel free to make the change yourself but I'd still be interested in knowing how to do it in the future. No, Wilson belongs to Erie. I have a published list through 1885. The districts have moved about quite a bit over the years. Check out John Gloninger, who in 1813 represented Pennsylvania's 3rd congressional district, which includes Erie today but included Dauphin County on the other side of the state at the time. The Vermont page contains all of the state's members of both the US Congress and Senate, thus the representatives title. I don't believe it wouldn't work at the city level. About the messages you sent me. The person who is reverting the editing is editing them to almost false information. Whoever it is continues to label the Royal Navy vessels as "Ships", instead of their proper designations of "sloops" and "corvette". Actually, I dropped by Blasco Library the other day and photocopied a dozen pages from Carney's Highlights of Erie Politics. Written in 1960. It has a bio section, so I glommed the mayors' bios and a few others. --Pat (talk) 00:54, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

I picked up bios on Charles M Reed, Charlie R. Barber, Michael Liebel, Jr, James P. Rossiter, Arthur Gardner, and George J. Brabender, all former mayors, as well as Robert F. Devine, who ran for mayor, Milton W. Shreve, eight-time Member of Congress, as well as prominent locals John A. Zurn, Thomas W. Barber, and John J. Barber. Lots more in the book. The book was self-published and didn't have an ISBN that I noticed. Blasco has a couple of biographical histories of Erie which contain hundreds of local biographies. In case you are ever inspired to do so, you could model a Pennsylvania version of U.S. Route 20 in New York. Note that the New York version's link appears on the US Rte 20 main article as a Seealso. The two advantages to having a PA article would be 1) it could be listed as an Erie WP article, and 2) it would include a comprehensive exit list.

Did you notice that the exit list on Pennsylvania Route 8 has been labeled as in need of fixing? The article was rated tonight and that comment was added. I studied the guidelines on exit lists for about twenty minutes and got a headache. And when I went to the article itself, I found that the format for the exit list is not standard at all but some sort of macro. I presume that the editor is concerned that the "Destinations" column title has been replaced with something like "List of exchanges". That can't be changed by a simple edit, apparently. The guidelines also say there are not to be any background colors in the chart. The concurrencies, which are endless on Rte 8, are marked in light blue. The whole thing is a bit beyond my grasp, I'm afraid. Thought I would share my frustration with you at 3 am.--Pat (talk) 08:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

If you are still trying to find something interesting John Pippy is an article I had to save from the copyvio dustbin. This is a guy who announced his candidacy for state senate, got called up to Iraq and won the seat even though military rules barred him from campaigning for himself. Since Christmastime I have been slogging through the counties of Pennsylvania and adding infoboxes to the municipalities. I noticed that you have also added some, namely to Crawford County and Erie County. Do you plan on completing Crawford and moving onto the other northwestern counties?         • The color photos book is "Pennsylvania's covered bridges : a complete guide" by June and Benjamin Evans from 2001, there is also the PHMC's "The covered bridges of Pennsylvania : a guide" by Susan M. Zacher, 2nd ed. is 1994, also 1st ed. is 1986 with black and white photos. Zacher wrote the NRHP info for the Bradford, Lycoming, and Sullivan County covered bridges.
