License tagging for File:International Uranium Film Festival.jpgThanks for uploading File:International Uranium Film Festival.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information. To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. I grew up across the street from a library, and it saved my life. Single parent home, wrong side of the tracks, the library was my baby sitter and sanctuary. I love cross-referencing concepts and sharing information. I am confused, tho, if I should be posting this response on my own talk page or yours. Is this the right place? Hope you get this response. There is so much I do not know about how Wikipedia works, so I'm working with the simple tools I do know how to use. The class you suggested, WIKILOO, - enrolled and looking forward to it. Regarding the questionable photos on the International Uranium Film Festival page....I've asked Norbert Suchanek for permission to upload it as Creative Commons. If I don't hear back from him by the 14th, I know it will be taken down. If it's better that I take it down now, no problem. The image of the Black Hole I grabbed from Wikipedia Commons or Creative Commons, and I think it is ok to use (?). But if it's better to ask first, just let me know. Learning curve. The other image another editor put up - it's of a video still of my work. What a surprise! If that's a conflict of interest, let me know. It's been fun "meeting" some of the editors, they have been helpful, esp. with cultivating a "neutral tone of voice". This has been the most challenging...finding that neutral tone. It made me think a lot about communication in general. Thank you for all of your help and support, Bluerasberry. The Eyebeam workshop was incredibly energizing and empowering. Sorry for the confusion around Blackboard Collaborate. We should have a general email going out shortly that will address this, but we're still tweaking it. You don't have to do any special sign-up for Blackboard; we have a version of it we're using that you can just click to join. There will be better instructions coming shortly, but if you'd like to try it out in the meantime, just try this link. You will need to have an up to date version of Java installed for it to work. Hope this helps, and see you in class next week! -Pete (talk) 15:26, 19 February 2014 (UTC) Welcome to WIKISOOHello and welcome to the Writing Wikipedia Articles course (#WIKISOO)! We look forward to meeting you in the first class on 25 February (Americas)/26 Feb (Asia/Australia). By now you should have received an introductory email with some details about the course. If you can't find it, there's an archived copy of the email at this link. To attend the live session, please check our course home page for instructions and the link. We recommend logging into Blackboard Collaborate (the live class software we use) before the day of class, to be sure it's working. (More tips on the home page.) If taking the course in self-paced mode, please come say hello on the course talk page so we know who you are! Thanks for signing up, and we'll see you Tuesday! - Pete (talk) 06:09, 24 February 2014 (UTC) ThanksThanks Netherzone for your thoughtful messages. Open education homeworkHi WIKISOO peeps, There is a potential article I've been working on about the Ecological Art educator and curator, Linda Weintraub. She has made some of her books and study guides free and open on the web. Your feedback on how this article is coming along is welcome. Here' a link to my sandbox on this project: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Netherzone/sandbox Not really sure if this is relevant to the OER homework, but thought I'd post anyways. So if you've been feeling behind or confused by all the details, we'll make sure we've got your questions answered before forging ahead! My apologies! I hope you are in class today, I will make sure yours is the first we get to. Open Course LibraryStill working on it and experimenting too -- have much more to add, etc Researcherguy (talk) 01:41, 2 April 2014 (UTC) OER inquiryHi Netherzone, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Notability of artist cited questionable" I'm not sure I understand this reason. The paragraph I had edited was this "Ecological awareness and transformation". It describes contributions by many artists. I had started my contribution by naming Marina DeBris. I am not clear on how this is ambiguous to whom I am refering. Could you please explain further and let me know how to make this less ambiguous? Also, if you look at Marina DeBris' wikipedia page, you can see 43 citations, to a very wide range of sources. She has many more citations, to more varied sources, than many artists included in Wikipedia. It seems to me that if her notability is questionable, then the notability of many other artists in wikipedia is much more questionable. Right? Actually, many of the citations for many of the other artists are ones I found and contributed to wikipedia. Many of them had no or one citation, so I searched and added more. Please let me know how would I make Marina DeBris less questionable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Socialresearch (talk • contribs) 02:28, 16 October 2014 (UTC) Sorry, I forgot to sign Socialresearch (talk) 02:56, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
Soliciting Feedback for Art+Feminism grantsHello Netherzone. Thanks for giving the thumbs up to our post on the A+F talk page. As you saw, we have written two linked PEG and IEG grants. We have given extensive community notice, but haven’t generated substantial feedback. We would really like your feedback, comments and questions, and if you support the grants, we would appreciate your endorsement of one or both of them. Additionally, we have confirmed International Women's Day, March 8th 2015 as the date of the international editathon. We hope you will be able to participate, as an organizer, facilitator, or participant. On behalf of my co-organizers. --Theredproject (talk) 20:28, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

I'm an editor (not very active till now) of the Italian Wikipedia, where the gender gap is a real issue. I'm trying to participate to an IEG with the project "Women are everywhere". You will find the draft at this link https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IEG/Women_are_everywhere It would be great if you could have a look at it. Notability for a creative artist depends mainly on whether their work is in the permanent collection of major museums. His work does not seem to be. It also depends on whether there is extensive critical commentary on their work--there does not seem to be -- only exhibition brochures and similar notices. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! I just created a page for 19th century sculptor Louise Lawson, whose best-known work is a memorial statue of Congressman Samuel S. Cox that stands in Tompkins Square Park. Since Lawson has been dead for over a hundred years and the statue in public for longer than that, there are no copyright issues. It would be great to get a pic of it for her page (and no reason it couldn't go on Cox's page as well). Maybe you would be willing to add it to your list? She lived in my old neighborhood in Atlanta and I was fascinated with her story, as a bunch of the places mentioned in that article from Kim were really familiar to me. I merged my stuff into the article and then didn't have time to thank you, as I had an international call with one of my Mexican students who is in England working on his master's degree. I have been perusing some of your files and think you should apply for being Autopatrolled. Basically, it just stops your new articles from appearing in the New Pages Feed and being reviewed by bots and people who may not have a level of expertise with your subject content. The requirement is that you have created 25 articles and you have 38, which a review of clearly shows you understand the protocols of article creation on WP. I didn't nominate you, because I don't want to make assumptions that you want the right. Happy editing :) SusunW (talk) 18:28, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Legobot (talk) 04:26, 16 April 2017 (UTC) Proposed deletion procedureAt Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frank Fu you wrote, "The PROD was reverted three times without due cause" This reflects an misunderstanding about PROD. Wikipedia:Proposed deletion is a procedure to be used only for uncontroversial deletions, and a prod notice that has been removed for any reason--or no reason--should never be restored. As the page explains, "PROD must only be used if no opposition to the deletion is expected. It must never be used simultaneously with a deletion discussion (AfD or FfD), and it may only be placed on a page a single time. Any editor (including the article's creator or the file's uploader) may object to the deletion by simply removing the tag; this action permanently cancels the proposed deletion via PROD." You may be right that the subject is not notable (although I have so far found two substantial articles about him [3][4]), and your nomination of this article for deletion using WP:Articles for deletion was a permitted response to the removed prod notice. But your warning at User talk:Artfair [5] was not a correct statement of Wikipedia procedure, and I request that you retract it. Thanks for your understanding. --Arxiloxos (talk) 03:42, 19 April 2017 (UTC) May 2017 at Women in Red

It would be helpful if you could either explain that bit on the talk page or use more specific tags (ie, section or inline) for the parts that give you NPOV concern.
