I believe the term 'First Grade' is used for first team appearances in the southern hemisphere, would you know what reserve team appearances are called, e.g. "Reserve Grade", "Second Grade", "A Grade", etc. Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 16:18, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi there want to know when do amateur clubs become notable? since I've created a few from the Sydney Suburban competitions a club like St Clair Comets when do they become notable enough for wikipedia do deletions need to be placed on St Mary's Saints and other amateur clubs, how about amateur clubs from England/USA etc..??Youndbuckerz (talk) 11:01, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

I came across this 'Editor of the Week' page yesterday, and Mattlore immediately sprung to mind as the kind of unsung editor who deserves a formal 'thank you' from the Wikipedia community for his work. In over eight years, Mattlore has created (by my count) over 1,000 articles. 81% of his edits have been in the mainspace. His contribution to Wikipedia's coverage of rugby league has been immense. I can personally vouch for the quality of his contributions there. As you can see from a sample of his recent contributions, Mattlore not only creates a significant amount of content, but maintains a huge portfolio of articles, especially in areas that attract a lot of fanboys (rugby league) or that can be contentious (NZ politics). So far as I can tell, he's only ever received one barnstar for his work. I have no doubt he does not seek any more recognition, but he certainly deserves it.

I am currently updating the infoboxes for the current Sydney Roosters squad. I didn't know that removing the reference on Martin's page was incorrect.

I am removing the footnotes to match the other Infoboxes (e.g. Mitchell Aubusson).
Infoboxes like Aubusson's have RLP (Rugby League Project) in the Source section instead of a reference link (Kennedy, Tuivasa-Sheck).
I don't believe that the pages of Martin Kennedy and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck or any other players should have a link(s) to the Rugby League Project website except in the Source section of infoboxes.

Ok, you have raised two points there. First, why do you prefer an in text "RLP" link, instead of a footnote? And second, why do you not think that the rugbyleagueproject.org website should be used as a reference, apart from in the infobox? What is wrong with that page? The majority of the current Roosters squad have a RLP link in the Source section and nowhere else. I think this should be the same for all rugby league players on Wikipedia. I believe that one link (not a reference) to the RLP website in the source section is needed and nowhere else.

I believe that having a link to RLP in the Infobox and nowhere else is appropriate and important because it can match the other players pages (all players pages should be this way in my opinion). Is there a way to have a link to RLP in the Infobox and a reference(s) to RLP on the same page?

I disagree. If the page calls for it, then there is no reason why rugbyleagueproject.org can't be used as a source in the text like any other. Also, I think that a footnote is preferable to a link marked "RLP" in the infobox, as this only means anything to other editors and not to the casual reader. There is no (technical) reason why both can't be present but it is a bit redundant. I still am not clear why you prefer the "RLP" link in the infobox to a footnote? For what it is worth, information in an infobox is supposed to be a summary of the most important aspects of an article. Hence, there shouldn't be anything in an infobox that isn't also in the text somewhere. Schwede66 03:39, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

To Matt, I prefer the RLP link in the Infobox for two reasons:
1. I think it looks better.
2. I agree 100% with Schwede66 and I believe he is correct.
