Simply no, and I would instantly place a merge request on an IP article. There is no need for such an article because PII is the same thing. You'd be just creating redundancy. Wikipedia favours quality of articles over quantity of articles. Anyways some of the history section such as the immigrations to Ireland already have an article where if needs be I can trim and stick the surplus into: Plantations of Ireland, Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, Restoration (Ireland), Williamite War in Ireland etc. etc. Mabuska ^(talk) 18:50, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

I'm trying to put together a list of the problematic edit types such as removing 'Provisional' with a view to some sort of community restriction as an alternative to a topic ban. Its taking a lot of time to check every edit at the moment and that is not sustainable in the long term. Given that the editor looks unlikely to modify their own behaviour I don't see any other alternative. Hi, Mabuska. You've done a cut and paste move of Protestant decline in Ireland to Protestantism in the Republic of Ireland. This is not allowed because it messes up the page history and leads to copyright issues. You need to go to Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves and follow the instructions to alert an admin to fix it. Regards, Scolaire (talk) 17:50, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

I did indeed as the page already existed as a redirect so I couldn't simply move it. Should I restore and file a merge request with the old article going to the redirect namespace? Not sure what copyright issues there is. Mabuska ^(talk) 18:21, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

You need to read the page I linked you to. Don't do anything more yourself. Just follow the instructions and an admin will do the necessary work. Everything on WP is copyright. The Creative Commons license only allows you to use content with attribution, but proper attribution is no longer possible if you do a copy and paste move, because the revision history is no longer associated with the article. BTW make sure to tell them you moved the talk page as well. Scolaire (talk) 20:07, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
