Per Wikipedia:Wikiproject Geology/Notability#Stratigraphic units articles at the formation level are preferred. As for Pötschenkalk that was redirected to Pötschenkalk Formation an alternate name for the formation which I reversed back as Pötschenkalk (without Formation) is more common in the literature. I reviewed that first article as part of the WP:NPP article review process. The fact you didn't create these articles is neither here nor there. That note you've detailed above is not policy nor is it even a guideline. It has no weight. Putting back these article there are duplicating content elsewhere is a really poor choice for article creation and is really unacceptable as none of them are effctively sourced. I suspect that today that your going to end up at the edit warring noticeboard. I suspect it is also disruptive editing to revert on all when they have already been reviewed. You don't "need" to revert them. The articles prior to redirecting had been stable for years, before they were hypocritically redirected by Zigismon who claimed that group rank was best despite creating a draft for a formation of the same caliber (Draft:Skaneateles Formation and if wnyone is edit warring it is you who months after I reverted an undiscussed merge decided to unilaterally redirect an article. You may know who I am by my username and you may know what's going on there, but I'll repeat for clarity. There's been a lot of drama on another wiki regarding funding and lawsuits, and I've been observing the chaos from afar. Any opinions on the current situation over there? My opinion on the lawsuits is that they are an obvious mass slapp suit attempt to take the wiki down via attempting to get the foundation bankrupt. Its not helped by the fact that the foundation has been lacklustre in terms of existence for the past couple of years and barely trugging along. I mean the lawsuit last year should have been a wake up call for the foundation, but it seems not to have woken them up as much as it should have done, its taken them to this mass suit filing to actually come up with a possible road plan for how to deal with slapp suits in the future, so... I'm not holding out much hope given the current political climate that lawsuits won't affect the wiki, heck one of the points the community discussed was us being a small wiki thus being an easier target to possibly be used to set a precedent in court that could eventually with enough backing be used by anyone to get any small wiki shut down and given enough backing even Wikipedia could be hit. Hello,

As anyone can see, you are receiving a large number of notifications from recent efforts to empty some dinosaur categories. Most of the emptying is being done by User:IJReid but other editors have been involved as well. I have asked IJReid for an explanation for what has been going on for the past week that this has been happening but haven't checked back to see if there is a response. While it is not unusual for an editor to take on recategorizing an area of the project, it usually is organized through a WikiProject or done through nominations at WP:CFD, neither of which is happening with these categories.

I know nothing about this subject area so I don't know whether or not this is a bad move or an improvement. But I wanted to ask you if you would like me to skip posting these notices on your User talk page. Right now, it is already littered with CSD notices and so please let me know (and maybe Explicit) if you would like to me to skip informing you of these category taggings. Thank you. Liz ^{Read!
