Hey, I have worked with you before on the risk parity article as well as financial risk. However, it seems I am having issues with User:Brianmarc on the Downside risk page (and less so on Sortino ratio). I have tried to contact this user on his talk page to try to work together on improving the article, but it seems he is not willing to be cooperative and, in my view, is merely blanking out entire parts of pages (that are cited) without giving reason. Hi Zfeinst, I can't come to the article and help you as that would be considered the 'canvassing' a friendly editor (by you) to come and be on your side in a dispute. This kind of stacking of the deck is not permitted on Wikipedia. I'm not saying that you were asking me to do that, just letting you know about that rule. However, I can look at the edit history(s) and advise you on how to respond or proceed with an editor who is being disruptive etc. So let me look at the edits and then I'll respond further.-- — Keithbob • Talk • 15:48, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

In regards to the situation I mentioned, an admin appears to have intervened already to tell that user to be more civil. Good. I'm glad an Admin has stepped in. Brianmarc is a rather inexperienced user and may not be aware that Wikipedia has strict policies on WP:CIVILITY and WP:NPA (No Personal Attacks). I haven't looked at all his edits but his edit summaries that say: "keep getting ambushed bt some ignorant wannabe!" and "Fuck you, cocksucket" are not acceptable and if repeated, after a warning from an Admin, could result in a temporary block of the user account. There are various kinds of dispute resolution which are outlined at WP:DISPUTE. There are two basic kinds of disputes: content and behavior. If he continues to be incivil and make personal attacks (behavior) then I would post a note on the talk page of the Admin who has intervened and show him the diffs sample diff here. The Admin will take care of the behavior. If he continues to remove large quantities of content, especially sourced content, like he has here [1] and leaves the edit summary blank and doesn't respond to your requests for an explanation on the talk page; then you could take the matter to the WP:DRN which is a dispute resolution noticeboard for non-specific content issues. Be sure to notify Brianmarc if you open a discussion at DRN so he can participate. Dispute resolution is a complicated, time consuming and painstaking process, but it will give you results if you stick with it. If you need further assistance now or in the future, please feel free to contact me. Wikipedia needs more sincere, civil, collaborative editors like you to help us improve the encyclopedia. I view the "Controversy" heading as more appropriate, given the section contents. Its commonly used on WP, as is "Criticism;" in fact, the Dean Foods page has a controversy section with common content.--E8 (talk) 17:06, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Someone named Fasttimes68 keeps getting into editing wars, now it seems with this former model's page. Her husband only "claims" to be a billionaire, it was never reported by a third party source that is actually is. I suggest this matter with this editing person be stopped. Nice job, yes. In viewing the article on Young, the husband's part is not necessary in an article about a model who is notable for her own career, not his. When I get bored, I either check out the various lists of things to do there. Also, I have kept a list of maybe 5 or 6 articles whose notability is in question. My problem is that I don't like to address those (potentially confrontational) issues, so if you are willing, let me know! *Also, I am truly computer illiterate with the exception of using email, and some Wikipedia and Commons. This especially applies to removing watermarks and frames for the photos I've uploaded. Would you be willing to do any of that stuff? There are a slew of photos in Commons that should be placed in a Category of their own, but I'm ignorant as far as creating categories there properly; and many need more work, too, each really deserves it there, but I can provide a list of them for you as well. Name yer poison! Matter of fact, if you don't like these options, let me know, and I'll have a new list for you!

Thanks Kiethbob. I went ahead and did my best to create an updated Galleon scandal section based on My2011's feedback on the McKinsey & Co Talk page. Really appreciate all your help and patience. With so much complex and controversial content, it's unlikely I'd be able to improve the article without so much participation from the community. My hope is that if the section is basically ok, we can move to article-space and there can be bold edits from there. I should have updates on the History/Org sections by next week. Hi, I saw your comment about unsourced Derek Trucks edits. I am sick right now, but before you remove more and more from that article, please wait till I'm feeling alright, OK? I did a lot of work on it, both bad and good, and a couple years ago, asked another editor to help clean it up, and the more that is yanked around without knowing where those references actually are could leave the whole biography in two sentences really soon if it continues. As this isn't primarily about the article subject anymore, I'm responding here. Wikipedia:Proposed deletions are fine, which is what you did. Anyone may remove them, normally by showing that something is not a hoax, including or providing references here, demonstrating notability, or indicating that it would need a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion example. I did not claim that she is notable, but removed the Prod, suggesting that the article be redirected to United States House of Representatives elections, 2004#Ohio (note that #Ohio goes to the corresponding section), since United States House of Representatives elections in Ohio, 2004&redirect=no (the corresponding state sub-article doesn't exist, and currently redirects back there). If deleted, search results would land readers at a page similar to this, while no longer having her article there. Indeed Ohio's 7th congressional district#Election results might be an even better anchor, as showing both attempts simultaneously. First elections rarely need to state 'unsuccessful, they ran again here 2 years later', but subsequent elections often mention 'previously unsuccessful, ran again'. Having identified that she was an unsuccessful candidate but still the nominee and a plausible search term, an attempted redirect should be the first step. Proposing deletion leaves a void, which prompts recreation if left redlinked elsewhere. If the redirect stays, fine; if reverted, the article can be taken to AfD. After your post at article talk & my talk, I initially thought I'd removed an AfD template (a no-no), and was relieved to discover we were just miscommunicating. Hey Dru, thanks for this in depth explanation. So the process is to first propose deletion with a PROD. Then if no-one fixes the issue its taken to AfD for discussion (unless it needs a Speedy, which is another topic we wont' get into). Is that correct? But what if someone removes the PROD tag, like you did? I can still take it to AfD for discussion? That is what I wanted in teh first place. In future can I go direct to that step? Also I'm still not clear on why you removed the tag as you did not solve the notability problem. I guess you are saying you did it because a deletion would take the search to a list page and you think it should be redirected. What I think should be done is that it should be deleted and the search term redirected to either the Ohio election page (cited above) or the John Hagelin/Personal section where we could include a one sentence description of her career. I removed the Prod because I think a Redirect is the best outcome, and the most likely outcome (I think it best to assist in getting readers to content, and less likely to tempt recreation). You could just have redirected it, citing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Common outcomes#Politicians, since there's actually coverage. You Prod'ed it (which was fine, but is supposed to meet the 'no editor would object' guideline, and there is coverage); I've removed the Prod, which cannot be re-applied. The choices are now redirect, or AfD, which will likely have the same result, but gives the opportunity for establishing notability (and drama) but is enforceable, and the result can be locked if repeatably bothered with. While you can go directly to AfD with many articles, editors would normally expect the process which takes the path of least resistance, or they'll complain that adequate prior steps haven't been taken or you're wasting their time, although less likely with your first. Hey- I believe the associated acts as I understand it, are those groups which the person in question was a member at some point. Lately, I've seen articles with a litany of every musician who ever even jammed with another person! Eric Clapton, for example, has played with damn near every amazing musician alive. How can they all fit in an infobox? But, if Clapton was a member of a band, such as The Yardbirds, or John Mayall's band, then they qualify as associated acts. If one disagrees with my assessment, then I defy them to figure out what to put as associated acts for session musicians' biographies like the ones for multi-instrumentalist David Lindley, or Waddy Wachtel, both of whom have played with damn near all the greats across genres. However, now that I think about it- back to Eric Clapton, if it is unavoidable to list all the people, or past members, you can always create a little fold thing, where someone must click to see the full list. You are probably a more senior editor than either of us and I thought you might want to chime in and take a look. I was also poking a bit on the Office Locations section we discussed in May that kind of slipped through the cracks and never got implemented.

Finally, if you're interested, we could use your experience for the upcoming Organization section. There are some unsourced criticisms near the end of that section. Asking to remove content isn't really my bread and butter and I won't declare that no sources exist (lest I get proven wrong). Maybe you could lend some perspective on the best approach? First step would be to tag the unsourced text with like this: ^{[citation needed]} and then after a reasonable amount of time, if no sources are produced it could be removed. Putting a note on the talk page would also be helpful.

Hi. I don't have time at the moment to make corrections, but wanted to let you know that you have made some mistakes in your edits of the article on Steve Earle. (For instance, he was only in jail about two months.) You rely heavily on a brief CMT web bio, when previous authors had relied on extensive published biographies by St.John and McGee, though they were not always cited well. This is a problem I see often on Wikipedia: references too often are satisfied by web sources, while better researched books are not considered. I see an edit war is starting. XcommR, who has a declared COI, is reverting edits. I note that the edits being reverted do make statements which are not supported by the sources, and that you have adjusted the material so that it is neutral. I can see the article as a candidate for protection - but perhaps not quite yet. I'd like to see how things progress. The outing issue is tricky because the outing claims are based on a statement that XcommR made which could reasonably be seen as stating who he is. If I say on Wikipedia "I am the founding editor of Angel Exhaust", and then someone says - ah! you're Steve Pereira, they are not guilty of outing asa the information is all there. If XcommR felt he had made that statement in error and wished to have it suppressed, he could ask for that to be done. As it is, the statement has been deleted anyway, so only admins can now see it. I'm not sure who might be socking. It appears that one of the IP accounts has now registered - possibly in response to XcommR's comments. If there's some specific issue you'd like to talk over, or an admin action you feel might be appropriate, you can always ask me, but at the moment it looks like you have the situation in control. Martin Hosking blogs on RedBubble that he is editing Wikipedia as user XcommR. His RedBubble blog is publicly visible as well as a feed to thousands of RedBubble accounts and has been posted since April, so it is a bit late for it to be suppressed lol. About the content of the article itself, RedBubble's decision to promote and sell the Hipster Hitler clothing and offensive children's clothing traumatised and divided the RedBubble community which had previously been a friendly artist's community. The article could do with improvement to tell this story in a balanced way including by referencing media reports of what was promoted and sold by RedBubble and what was said about it. The article mentions one Jewish organisation applauding RedBubble but not what the many more who condemned the products being sold said. It does not mention what the public authorities such as Child Protection Commissioner said about the children's clothing. The article mentions the exact contents of an ironic hoodie about murdering suspicious people but does not mention the content of the clothing people found offensive. The companies I consult will rarely be able to do the same, but as a matter of my basic qualification to consult them, I should at least work my way to becoming a regular GA contributor, if not FA eventually.

BTW, is it possible to bring smaller subjects to GA? For example, I could start out with a smaller subject like the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, but there are no sources available for 20+ years of their history and it would be a short article, so it's not really possible to make the article complete. Articles don't have to be big to get GA. But they do require 'broad coverage'. [3] A lot depends on who you get as a GA reviewer. Some are stricter than others. But size is not a criteria, for example I got GA for Norman E. Rosenthal, Amos Lee and Risk parity. Keithbob, I've committed to helping with the Mark Erelli article. I just put up a stub with an infobix and discography. Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated. I've found several CD reviews and there are articles in the Huffington Post and Washington Post. He's from the Boston area, so I'm certain the Boston Globe and/or Herald would have articles as well. The reason I made that edit is because NOBODY speaks for Katy other than herself. No online articles, no magazines, no family, no "close sources" or anything. She said that on her twitter. This is why I am certain that, unless she or John specifically announces otherwise, THEY ARE NOT A COUPLE. It really bothers me how many people don't pay attention to the most reliable sources, which in this case are John and Katy themselves.
