The ContentTranslation extension has been updated:
You can now type in list paragraphs on wikis with right-to-left scripts. [1]
Some user interface updates changed how details in the ContentTranslation extension look. [2][3][4][5]
The error page you see when the sites are not working is now simpler and easier to read. It also shows the Wikimedia logo. [6]
MediaWiki now supports redirects for CSS pages. [7]
Bots can't guess captchas unlimited times anymore. [8]
Problems
There was a problem with thumbnails on wikis with local images on July 24 and 25. It was due to a code error. [9]
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from August 4. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from August 5. It will be on all Wikipedias from August 6 (calendar).
Meetings
You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs are the most important. The meeting will be on August 4 at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.

That particular artists would be omitted through oversight or happenstance is reasonable, but that one of the world's leading publishers of art books is completely unaware of their major omissions is startling.
Death is no stranger to this list, but it has never cast such a pall as this week, when for the first time half the slots in the top 10 were devoted to it, including the top 3.
I article I wrote yesterday for Sir James McCusker was written on behalf of my employer Mr Malcolm McCusker CV AVO QC who is the son of Sir James and wanted the article of his life published. Mr Malcolm McCusker is the reference that should be quoted for this article.
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Construction Irreducible Markov Chain in Ising Model, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Convergence. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
I am not sure if i am in the correct location but yesterday i created an article about Sir James McCusker - apparently it has been declined due to lack of reference. I should have noted that the article was written on behalf of my employer Mr Malcolm McCusker QC who is the son of Sir James McCusker. He wishes his father's history to be placed on Wikipedia. Is that an acceptable reference?
Unfortunately rhat would not be a good source for two reasons. One, it is not a verifiable source since re-users and readers need to be able to reasearch all the informton mentioned on Wikipedia by themself and find the same information. Two, it does not prove a subjects notability to be included in an encyclopedia. Here below is a simplified explanation why:
Made some small changes to the style of the edit warning and sitelinks so they are easier to notice and understand
Added error messages for Special:GoToLinkedPage and Special:ItemByTitle so you get a useful message in case no result is found
The Entity Selector now displays alias in brackets behind label
The number of entities loaded via the {{#property:…}} parser function and via Lua will be reported in the “Parser profiling data” (which can be found below a page preview or within the Html of a page)
Prepared for next rounds of arbitrary access rollout
Investigated growing lag of dispatching of changes to Wikipedia and co. We'll need to investigate further and change things so the lag between an edit on Wikidata and it being send to the Wikipedias and other projects is not too high.
Added the property ID to Special:ListProperties
Moved two extensions (Wikidata.org and WikimediaBadges) from Github to Gerrit. More will follow.

More edits have been rejected due to loss of session data lately. This is now fixed. [21]
Importing a Lua module sometimes didn't work. This is now fixed. [22]

I recently rewrote the Clearfield, Inc. article that was deleted due to a copyright violation. My appologies for copy pasting, I was completely in the wrong and have re-written the part that was cited as a copyright violation.
I am not entirely sure how this works now, I put everything back together and moved it to the "talk page"... but not your talk page? Can you please advise? I just was hoping for another shot at this to get on Wikipedia and be done with this. Thank you very much for your edits.

00:45:17, 12 August 2015 review of submission by Ursula Sujdovic
I have resubmitted my page for review (I added a number of references which I did not have in place in the original document) I have now a number of newspaper articles which I would like to submit as references but due to the fact that the article was written in 1995 their is no digital reference - is it possible to scan the article for Wikipedia to verify and allow it to be added to my document.
@Nahnah4: Hi :) So basically, we migh know it is going to be released, but we do not have any reliable sources that can verify the name or date of when it will be published. We need to have a source which can prove that this is going to be the name of the album. Without it, it is just speculations (highly educated guesses). (t) Josve05a (c)07:37, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Well, with this edit you add the title to the artilce, without a real source that that is going to be the name of it. It's not just the date that needs a source. (t) Josve05a (c)07:43, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Then include that in an edit summary or as a footnote. Wikipedia readers should not need to look up on twitter and Google to find where we got our information, even if it is public knowledge.
Thank you for assisting me with my first article, Deb Sofield.
I tried linking to another appropriate article, the Order of the Palmetto, which the person I wrote about received in 2008. As I understood your tag, I needed to add her name to that existing article appropriately, which I did, using an appropriate reference. My edits were removed by Yopie and labelled as advertising and promotional. Yopie has also tagged my Deb Sofield article in the same way.
I am at a loss as to what I can do to remove the tags and edit my article appropriately. Also, what is the protocol when someone adds a tag, I make any appropriate adjustments and then need to remove the tag. This all feels accusatory, but I realize everyone is trying to help.
You have a bunch of names etc. and want to find Wikidata items with those labels/aliases? Try relabel!
SourcererBot is adding lots of references to existing statements on several thousand items.
Mix-n-Match has new catalogs including the National Library of Australia.
Deaths at Wikipedia are a series of reports comparing items at Wikidata with death-by-year-categories of Wikipedia. For the years since 2000, only about 15% of items at Wikidata lack d:Property:P570 (date of death).

Many Wikipedias can now use information from any Wikidata item in any Wikipedia article. Before they could only use the Wikidata item that matched the subject of the article. [27][28][29]
Some auto-saving problems and other issues in the Content Translation tool are now fixed. Please report to the Content Translation feedback page if you still have problems. [30]
Problems
Older gadgets that are not using ResourceLoader are not loading anymore. They need to be updated. [31][32]
On August 12 the machine translation servers and the Content Translation tool didn't work. This was fixed on the same day. [33]

Hello, Josve05a. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Damien Lawson".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.
Soon the edit summary for edits through the API will also contain the automatic edit summary that you are used to for edits done through the website. The summary given by the API user will be appended to the automatic summary. (phabricator:T97247)
Addressed performance issues in usage tracking updates and had to delay the latest round of rollouts because of it
Fixed a bug where suggestions would show up twice in item and property selectors (phabricator:T109697)
Improved performance of the mw.wikibase.sitelink Lua method
Made final changes so we can redirect mobile users to the mobile version by default
Evaluated the remaining steps to get the extension deployed that lets you do checks against 3rd party databases. Not much left it seems and we'll tackle that in one of the next sprints. Getting the new features deployed for the constraints checks will still take a bit longer.
More work on making the edit summaries in the watchlist on Wikipedia and co more meaningful

I work for CHNLD artist management, we represent 7 are looking to revamp his Wikipedia page. What is the proper procedure to update his page? I also need to change his name from Channel 7 to 7 Aurelius. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnyCHNLD (talk • contribs) 18:51, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
I think you're looking at the term "constructive" subjectively. While it may not appear friendly in nature, its accuracy is undeniable and has been pulled from credible sources. I appreciate your help and your vigilance. Have a lovely evening. TheGoldenAuthor (talk) 02:56, 30 August 2015 (UTC)TheGoldenAuthor
It did not seem to comply with WP:BLP or WP:NPOV ("talent for alienating others"), since it wasn't a quote (with a footnote) from a reliable source, which is needed. (t) Josve05a (c)02:59, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #173
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Optimized Wikidata for viewing on mobile devices. You will be redirected to m.wikidata.org automatically when using a mobile device soon the same way it already happens on Wikipedia. (Editing will only be possible via the special pages!)
API custom summary will no longer override the autocomment (phabricator:T97247)
Paging and sorting has been added to Special:ListProperties and it now also shows the IDs of the properties
Worked more on making the edit summaries on the client more meaningful and readable
Introduced a limit of 250 different entities that can be used on a page in the client via arbitrary access. The limit does not apply to convenience functions in lua, such as mw.wikibase.label which use a TermLookup instead of loading a full entity to get labels. (phabricator:T93885)
