Retired? Why? my friend? OMG you are one of the most productive user on Wikipedia! Please reconsider. You will be missed :'-( JimCarter16:59, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
The #wikipedia-en IRC channel is not associated with Wikipedia. It is not maintained, controlled or governed by any Wikipedia organization. People have left Wikipedia, including one of mentors, Chzz, because of no control by Wikipedia. However, people have been blocked and had their admin bit removed due to what they said there. I consider the Wikipedia channels on IRC to be cesspools. Don't leave Wikipedia on account of anything said in that dung heap. When you do come back (I really hope you will), stay aware from there. Bgwhite (talk) 21:12, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia might not be the same, or in control of IRC, but it is the same people. I don't feel I want to be a part of a community with such people. I wish you all best of luck while I'm gone, and we'll see if I come back in the future. My last wikibreks lasted max 1 day each... (t) Josve05a (c)(Retired)21:23, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes and no. Many of the people on IRC rarely contribute to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is made up of a group of people from all walks of like, but mostly young and male. With any somewhat random group, you are going to get people with prejudices and different ways of thinking. I've learned alot from so many different people. That has been the most enjoyable part of Wikipedia. The least enjoyable has been dealing with bigots and people who think they are at the center of the Universe. Every person has to determine when the bad outweighs the good on their personal scale. I refuse to be on IRC, be a part of ANI discussion except when necessary and edit many subjects in order to keep me sane and still be able to edit here. I really hope you will still find enjoyment in editing Wikipedia and stay around. Your interactions with me have been nothing but enjoyable and in many cases, a learning experience for me. But if you can't find enjoyment, I do hope you stay away. This place isn't worth it to be miserable. Hmmm, what else is there to do in a Swedish winter? Bgwhite (talk) 22:13, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks
I would like to take this oppertunity to thank all on you people who have writen such nice things to me here, to my mail, and on IRC (yes, I have still been on there, just not in official channels).
I have decided to take a small Wikibreak instead of retire, because I know I will come back and edit...SO congratulations! You have not seen the last of me! (t) Josve05a (c)(on a break)08:56, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
I hadn't posted before, but I came here to say I'm glad to see you resumed editing, even if just a little bit. Don't let them get you down. BTW I'm Rihan on IRC. (I lurk a lot - don't have an IRC client on the laptop I use to edit from work.) Yngvadottir (talk) 13:03, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
Welcome back
Hey there, good to see you've come back. There's no need to apologise for disruption at all. I think for different reasons we all have times when we question our participation here, and with the horrible stuff it sounds like you've heard I don't blame you at all. So, welcome back and good luck going forward! BethNaught (talk) 21:28, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
Request on 18:20:07, 4 October 2014 for assistance on AfC submission by BlazeSPM
Hello, I see that my article about the Giordano Memorization System was declined for copyright reasons, and I assure you this is a misunderstanding, because all the information in the article is available for FREE on:
All the information is disclosed on those websites. Plus, I DO have permission by the website owner to publish this article. So there is no reason why this article shouldn't be on wikipedia.
That said, those websites would not be considered reliable sources; they're out to sell products, not to provide accurate information. Copy-pasting content from those websites would not give a good encyclopedia article even if it were not explicitly illegal. You should find sources such as newspapers, reputable magazines or peer-reviewed scholarly papers, sources which are subject to editorial oversight and which have a reputation for fact-checking, discussing the GMS in some detail, and summarize what those sources report. Huon (talk) 18:38, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
The copyright of the GMS Manual is:
"School of Phenomenal Memory®. GMS Manual. Copyright 2006 by Ruslans
Mescerjakovs. All rights reserved. No part of this book may be reproduced or
transmitted in any form, by any means, (electronic, photocopying, recording, or
otherwise) without the prior written permission of the author or Ruslans Mescerjakovs."
I do have permission from Ruslans Mescerjakovs. What do you need in terms of proof in order for me to post this article?
And another thing I wanted to ask: You said that even if the article wasn't explicitly illegal, the source is not reliable and the information not accurate. Not reliable source in what way? Not accurate in what way?
There is a 3rr exemption for reverting a banned user. If you want to take responsibility that's fine but don't misrepresent my actions. Thank you. SpartazHumbug!15:26, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
I said if you reverted my edits /aswell/, since that would go againt Edit warring-policy. (and by the way that "exemption" is only for, and I quote, "Reverting actions performed by banned users, and sockpuppets of banned or blocked users". There is no "proof that the user is banned. There has been no SPI, as far as I can tell, and before that has been completed, or that the user making the edits are blocked, that exemption is invalid.
performed by banned users (no proof)
sockpuppets of banned or blocked users (no proof, and no SPI)
Another quote from WP:Edit warring: "If you are claiming an exemption, make sure there is a clearly visible edit summary [my emphasis] or separate section of the talk page [my emphasis] that explains the exemption. When in doubt, do not revert. [my emphasis] Instead, engage in dispute resolution, and in particular ask for help at relevant noticeboards such as the Edit war/3RR noticeboard."
Happy editing??? Are you really that immature or are you trying to wind me up. 15:42, 6 October 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spartaz (talk • contribs)
Thanks for the WP:AGF, really nice. If you look in some of my archives, I actully keep using that quote a lot. (also, I think you forgot to sign your username) (t) Josve05a (c)15:45, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Obviously you know otherwise you wouldn't have made a point of saying that you were taking responsibility. You clearly knew it was a banned user. SpartazHumbug!16:02, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I KNOW OR NOT. The arguemt still stand. If no SPI/CU-check has been filed/done, there if no proof of sockpuppetering, mening that the "3RR-exemption" that you tried to get away with, is invalid. What you (or I think) is behind it is a whole other story, and has nothing to do with actual issue. (Plus that you failed "If you are claiming an exemption, make sure there is a clearly visible edit summary [my emphasis] or separate section of the talk page [my emphasis] that explains the exemption." compleatly.) (t) Josve05a (c)16:06, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
caught you out in a lie didn't I. If you are going to troll on behalf of banned users you need to develop a thicker skin and not get caught in obvious falsehoods. You knew who I was reverting exactly as I did. I don't think I need to take lessons in wiki behaviour from the likes of you. Good luck with the next stage in defending the undefensible. Be seeing you. SpartazHumbug!18:02, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Let me answer this comment in sections;
"caught you out in a lie didn't I" - Umm...no! I said "No!!! Please link me to the SPI, or a CU-check", and as anyone else should have detected, I was sarcastically making fun of you.
"troll on behalf of banned users" - Are you accusing me to meatpuppet? If thatis the case, (thanks, again for the AGF, very fitting for an admin). I HAVEN'T TROLLED, at least not to my knowledge. I saw that you were on the verge on edit warring, reverting multiple IPs without giving an explanation, and not blocking any IPs. And thanks to prior experience,I know how to "take responsibility" for an edit.(Hence the bla-blah-bla, it is getting normal to list those policies.)
"you need to develop a thicker skin" - Umm...no thank you.
"not get caught in obvious falsehoods" - Please refer the first point.
"You knew who I was reverting exactly as I did." - Still doesn't give you the right to do it. There need to be an SPI, and a clear explanation, why it isn't 3RR. You reverted it ~4 times I believe...
"I don't think I need to take lessons in wiki behaviour from the likes of you" - Likes of me?
Users who actually list the policies above, which you then say "but you know who it is don't you?", which has nothing to the point, whether or not if I know.
Or is it because I'm gay? Hmmm...
"Good luck" - THANKS!
"Be seeing you." - Oh you mean on AN/I,or AN/3RR?, just let me know where and when !
Spartaz stats edit warring with IPs, reverting all their edits, violation of 3RR.
I, Josve05a, makes dummy edits taking responsibility for the edits. And saying that if he reverts my edit, he is on the verge on edit warring in violation of policies.
Spartaz comes here telling me that it is not in violation of 3RR since the IP belongs to a banned user.
I refer to WP:Edit warring and WP:3RR with quotes about the IPs has to be proven to belong to a banned user. And that he has to clearly state, in an edit summary or in another way like the talk page, about how he is not violating 3RR.
He refuses to listen to policies and quotes. Instead turning this around to me asking if I know who the IPs belong to, accusing me to troll and meatpuppeting.
I deflect it, claimng that it doesn't matter if If I know, or think I know who the user is.
He starts saying that I lied, and compleatly forgets the main issue.
I answers, in a "funny" way.
He starts to go for personal attacks, accusing me for proxy edit, and lastely compleatly ignores his own fault, problem and the main issue.

Hello Josve05a. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Örjan Landström".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Örjan Landström}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Morwell, Victoria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paul Morris. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
