The gay slang article
I deleted THAT version of the article because it really did contain just immature homophobic crap. The version that I believe that you are talking about was deleted via WP:AFD. Let me do some nosing around and see if I can find where to go to get deleted material transwikied. I'll get back with you soon. Cheers. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 00:04, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I could write a template, where you enter some parameters. If their website changes, we just have to update the template, and hope that the links will all continue to work. Using your example:
Nice to have some help in the above article. Do what you like with the sections and/or order. I was too scared to touch those. Hope you don't mind if I continue rewording and correcting grammar. Mxvxnyxvxn (talk) 23:11, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A very warm welcome!
interested how you heard about ARS. Glad to see you join!
Category Articles tagged for deletion and rescue not found
Hi, Jodi.a.schneider/Archives, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron!
We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, which can be fixed and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!
Some points that may be helpful:
Our main aim is to help improve articles, so if someone seeks help, please try to assist if you are able. Likewise feel free to ask for help, advice and clarification.
Many times we are asked to help rescue articles by people new to our notability and sourcing policies. If the article is not fixable we can help explain why and offer alternatives. Many of these editors are also new to Wikipedia so may see deleting "their" article as "bitey". Encourage civility and maybe even {{welcome}} them if they have only been templated with deletion messages.
The Articles for deletion (AfD) discussion is where the concerns regarding each article are brought up and addressed. To be an effective member of the project you need to know how AfD works as well as how to improve articles. Introduction to deletion process gives a good overview and some good advice for newcomers to deletion.
Our primary work is improving articles tagged for rescue. On this template you can see a drop-down list of current articles tagged. You can install it on your own page by putting {{ARS/Tagged}}. A more dynamic list with article links and description is on our current articles page. It is highly recommended you watchlist it.
If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to the list of translators available. Articles and sources that use non-English languages often need translation for those of us who cannot translate for ourselves.
Hello, Jodi.a.schneider. You have new messages at Jclemens's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I suppose this might be a valid topic for an article, of course it needs sources and it needs to be rewritten, but here is the last version before it was deleted:

HISTORY OF PRESENTATION ARCHIVE, SAN FRANCISCO
Presentation Archive was established in 1978 to centralize, organize, preserve, protect and make available the records and materials which pertain to the origin, history, spirit and growth of the San Francisco community of Sisters of the Presentation. The archive reflects the various apostolates and ministries of the Sisters of the Presentation, both from the viewpoint of participation in these apostolates and from that of their relationship to the individuals and communities served through these apostolates.
The San Francisco Presentation sisters have a tradition of recording their daily life and activities, most notably through annals, since their foundation in 1854. Despite having experienced great loss during the disaster of the 1906 Earthquake and Fire, the sisters were able to salvage important documents of those early pioneering years. The early caretakers of these historical records were sisters who had training in librarianship or served as congregational secretary. In 1978, the community appointed Sister Kathleen Griffin, PBVM as their first official archivist. During this time a national movement was underway for religious congregations to establish their community's archive. The effort was made in confluence with women religious beginning to reconnect with the charism of their founders and early historical beginnings.
Sister Kathleen was sent by her community to attend national meetings and courses in archival studies to acquire the necessary training. She implemented preservation and organizational standards, and created inventories for the collections to make them accessible. A secure location was established for the archive and eventually a mobile Space-Saver shelving system was installed.
Presentation Archive continues to provide reference services and access to its collections for members of the community, their affiliates, and the public.
Members of the community utilize collections for retreats, presentations and conferences they organize. Leadership and administrators request past business and legal records for reference and documentation purposes. Other types of requests are made for alumni events, genealogy inquiries, and Catholic, educational or historical publications. Additionally, the archive provides historical displays and conducts tours of its repository for individuals and local and national groups of archivists and religious.
PRESENTATION ARCHIVE MISSION STATEMENT
Presentation Archive’s mission is to centralize, organize, preserve, protect and make available the records and materials which pertain to the origin, history, spirit and growth of the Congregation.
Maybe you could comment in the Umbraco AfD. I'm unsure if the only source there, which does have extensive coverage of the product, is reliable or not. Apparently there's a turf war between involved editors based on their off-site prior contacts. Pcapping18:11, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Re: David Mertz - zombie AfD listing in software deltion sorting and archive
Re your message: I think I cleared up the zombie listings and removed all of the duplicate entries from the archive. I left a note for the bot operator to see what happened regarding this AfD not being delisted properly. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:21, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
linked data
Maybe I would 'give it a go' but my concern atm is: "is linked data the wiki way, or is there a wiki way to do linked data?" Nice meeting you today by the way. Arided (talk) 23:43, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The histories of these 2 files look separate to me. (A long time ago some classically-minded man named a Scottish dialect of English after a dialect of Ancient Greek.) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:00, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
List of 70mm films
I've removed the two Bollywood titles you added. The list is for films which originated on 65mm/70mm negative - if we listed all the films which were blow-ups to 70mm the list would be hundreds of titles long. Sholay was filmed in 35mm and despite the claims of imdb, it's pretty likely that Around the World was too. In fact, I'm pretty sure no Bollywood film has ever used 65mm/70mm neagtive stock. I'm reviewing all the changes you made to the Wally Swist entry. So far, they're right on target and were much needed. (Many thanks from me, the originator, and from Mr. Swist.) Can you tell me how you happened to select his bio for cleaning up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pfinley (talk • contribs) 15:33, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your suggestions. I plan to expand the entry in the coming week. For now, I decided to write about the essentials of this topic. As for data driven journalism event in Amsterdam, I attended it so I am familiar with all the names and organizations you have listed and plan to include them in the near future.
I've noticed you've posted the call to wikify the Semeval page. May i know what are your suggestions to wikify the page? could you list some improvements that the page could make?
Thank you for your message: I have increased the rating. WP Libraries Assessment is not a very active department but I have been doing quite a few. My experience would be better with the traditional side so I am not surprised the work on some of the electronic ones is not good.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 19:31, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried to sort out the issue, and implemented it in the related articles (by removing references to exact numbers), except in the article on Sara Roy, per reasons given in talk page. Shoplifter (talk) 15:44, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
NHL 11
I de-linked the league names in this section, as it's hard to read a section with many wiki-links (especially if the text in the section is short). I don't know, I think it would be better to just wiki-link all relevant links; the league names aren't the most important things to wiki-link in a video game article. I just stumbled upon your page and i am happy to find that there is a 'Article Rescue Squadron' in Wikipedia.
I must admit that in fast few months, i created some really bad articles, lacking references, unknowingly had few copy vio issues etc. Though the subject/topic of most of them were notable, but the articles were really not upto quality. Currently i am restricted for editing in main space for next two weeks. The list of remaining articles is User:Maheshkumaryadav/Creations. I would be thankful is you can help save some of them (if you feel they should be). Talk:Chandigarh_Capital_Region#Sub-articles that should probably go may need immediate attention. Thanks. Mahesh Kumar Yadav (talk) 17:23, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, for butting in here, but I'm Mahesh's official mentor (assigned in lieu of a ban; if you care for the details, see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive696#User Maheshkumaryadav creating a slew of poor articles, and I want to clarify what happened. Mahesh's articles were not a problem because of quality, but because of fundamental violations of policy and poor choices about creating separate articles versus adding information to existing articles. In the specific articles in question relating to Chandigarh, Mahesh created separate articles for every aspect of a region of India. At the moment, a number of different editors are trying to determine if the most fundamental topic (Chandigarh Capital Region) is notable (I actually think it is, but not everyone agrees); there is basically universal agreement that the sub-articles (like Economy of Chandigarh Capital Region) should not exist and instead should be sections within the main article (whatever that turns out to be). I welcome the Article Rescue Squadron's involvement (I welcome anyone's involvement, actually, as this is a fairly extensive set of issues that are sometimes tricky to sort out), but this is most definitely not a case of the articles being considered for removal just because of a lack of quality. Any ARS member wishing to join would probably do best by starting with the entirety of Talk:Chandigarh Capital Region to see the issues we're working on. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:29, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the context, Qwyrxian. This kind of rescue isn't really the sort of thing I do, anyway, but I'm glad you're figuring out how to best help. From a quick browse at the list, I'd imagined that it was one article with various sections that would be wanted. I assume Mahesh noticed me because of some comments on a PROD I made yesterday. Non-admins can close deletion debates - see WP:NAC. The bottom left hand box ("Admin makes a decision...") could be split out to allow for non-admin closures. Depends on whether you want to show deletion to be even more complex than it already is!
WP:DRV can apply to keeps as well as deletes. The current placement of the box about DRV suggests that it is only for admin deletes, but can be for admin or non-admin decisions of any kind (although in WP:NAC keeps, generally that doesn't happen as an admin just steps in and overrules the decision).
Thanks for the comments. The chart is an intentional simplification (my first version didn't even take account of the WP:BLP process). You're right that WP:NAC is worth mentioning. I've added it to the exceptions list -- I think it fits better there. Regarding keeps and WP:DRV-- that's a good point. I've reworded this as "Decisions can be contested at Deletion Review." and repositioned the box. Take another look and let me know if you spot other improvements that could be made! Or let me know if you want a copy to play with. Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 01:01, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's better. The "Admin reviews" box could become "Uninvolved user (usually admin)" but that might be a lot of text! Heh. —Tom Morris (talk) 13:09, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
