Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources

• There is an ongoing discussion around changing notifications for new editors who attempt to write articles.
• A recent discussion of whether Michelin starred restaurants are notable was archived without closure.
• A resource page with links pertinent for reviewers was created this month.
• A proposal to increase the scope of G5 was withdrawn.

Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

On kevin eastman’s wikipedia page where he was born is wrong and i fixed it and i’m not trying to edit warring i just like correct information Zlowry21 (talk) 02:23, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Zlowry21, I don't see a definite source for Eastman's birthplace and just changing it without providing a supporting source is the wrong way to make a correction. The fact that Eastman says his Wikipedia page has it wrong is an adequate reason to seek a better source, but all by itself is not sufficient. It would be a reason to take the unsourced information out entirely, though. Maybe you should try doing that. Just be sure to get both the infobox entry and the place in the body text - these two should not be in disagreement with each other. — jmcgnh^{(talk) (contribs)} 03:44, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Sm8900, no pings, no worries. There are a few requirements for getting a successful ping to occur and just copying over my signature is not sufficient to trigger them. The formatting on User talk:Sm8900/forum draft 3 is somewhat messed up, but it's sufficient for the purpose. Hi, I saw your message on my talk page. As for the advertisement tagging, I edited the article several times just to make sure that the writing is focused on himself only, without sounding promotional. After the edit, it was accepted. if it is promotional, then it wouldnt have been accepted in the first place? I didnt add any new content after it was accepted, so I am not very sure why the tagging was placed after it was accepted. In any way, please let me know how I can edit it further. Do I need to remove the motto in the end even if it is factual and verifiable as it has a source? Thanks Marilen.buenviaje (talk) 03:42, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Marilen
