I left a long note on the primate talk page about our primate taxonomy, on which I would like your feedback. We have long used Groves (2005) as our basic source for primate taxonomy, but I think that developments over the past 10-15 years have left this reference far behind, which even Groves acknowledges. We have slowly and somewhat haphazardly updated our primate taxonomy as new research has been published, but I think it is time to acknowledge that we need a new primary source. My preference would be to use Mittermeier, et al (2013) Handbook of the Mammals of the World, volume 3, but I could see using Rowe, et al (2016) All the World's Primates if there is a consensus for that, or there may be another possible source I am not aware of. In any case I would like to get your feedback on this, and the resulting changes that could be necessary (e.g., revising common names). Rlendog (talk) 18:23, 6 January 2019 (UTC) So great to hear you're still working on the primates pages! I've not had the time in the last few years unfortunately but I am currently filming for a three-part BBC series on primates, hopefully you'll be able to check it out. I am using Mammals of the World 3 as my reference text, it's a great book and would be my recommendation however it's already six years old. I would recommend emailing some primatologists and see what their consensus is. Keep up the good work. Making things more confusing is the lack of any explanation on your part. Would you be so kind as to explain the flaws in these edits [1]of mine? Thank you.--Quisqualis (talk) 15:24, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Nice article, by the way. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:24, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
