Good explanation. Probably doesn't rise the level of Patent Nonsense but certainly as you've explained it satisfies the caveat of Biologic Nonsense. Hi Susan. Thank you for the great work you've done with Coco de Mer! Vallée de Mai with it mystic of light and shadows, black parrots that I was able to hear, but not to see, and Coco de Mer is a wondrous place. I even wrote a poem about those nuts that really could drive one nuts :)
Here's my new article Carrier Pigeon (the ship). Once again I would like to stress out that in no way you should feel yourself obligated to improve my articles. I know you are still tired after the trip, and I know you probably came home with lots of new shells to write about. BTW where did you go, if I may ask please? Hi Zoo,

Previously you mentioned that I ought to chase up on the rarity status of the plant Boronia imlayensis. After innumerable e-mails, a personal visit to the Botanic Gardens and phone calls. I finally received a reply. (So much dodging and weaving by these dreadful public servants). They don't like to answer difficult questions. They just refuse to co-operate.

Finally I received a reply. The botanist from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney agrees that the plant should be granted a rarity status, and the current situation is not acceptable.

Whether or not it progresses from here, who knows. Perhaps it will. But the article was put on "Did You Know", and it received a good number of readers.

Boronia imlayensis was prolific in flower last November, when I crawled up the mountain. There's heaps of them there in a very small area. But apparently, they occur no-where else the world. Because of the abundance of plants on the summit, I reckon "vulnerable" might be preferrable to "endangered". But that's for the scientific committee to decide, (if they get around to doing it). But having the article on "did you know" may have inspired the Royal Botanic Gardens to finally get back to me.

Hi, further to the above subject. The Royal Botanic Gardens read the Wikipedia article Boronia imlayensis. And asked to use the photo from this Wikipedia page. So, thanks to you for inspiring me to follow up on the rarity status. Hello Susan. How are things? A while back I made 16 Janthina stubs. Snek found out that 13 of these are synonyms: Janthina affinis, Janthina africana, Janthina balteata, Janthina bicolor, Janthina carpenteri, Janthina communis, Janthina depressa, Janthina globosa, Janthina grandis, Janthina involuta, Janthina planispirata, Janthina smithiae. He made the appropriate redirects, mostly to Janthina janthina. I don't know why I didn't see that they are synonyms when I made the stubs. I am happy that Snek noticed it.

My concern is that I picked Janthina quite at random to make the stubs, so of course it begs the question: how many of these genus articles contain species lists that comprise a large percentage of synonyms? It is troubling to think that a substantial percentage of the might be presenting false information to visitors. Your thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:52, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

In answer to your question, I went to the small Caribbean island of Nevis. I was looking at the marine mollusk fauna. I also had three short visits to the sister island of St. Kitts looking for shells, and one very thrilling day-long boat expedition to the very small island of Sint Eustatius. Sounds really exotic! Thank you for telling me about your trip. I've been to Kona, and as always kept you in mind. So here are are three images for you, Susan: File:Unidentified mollusks on corals in Kona.jpg and File:Unidentified mollusk in Kona.jpg, and File:Sea urchin decorated with shells.jpg (sea urchins are on the best places to see the shells :)) All images were taken underwater.
