I received a message from you recently concerning a joke-edit on the following article:

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus 

I have had the Alureon.A virus on my PC these past couple of days which, according to microsoft, can "allow attackers to transmit malicious data to the infected computer"(http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Virus:Win32/Alureon.A). This virus corrupted my boot sector and as such, I wasn't able to use my machine, and therefore did not edit any article. Just want to apologize though if this virus has allowed my ip/machine/whatever to be used by someone else to alter the contents of the page.

I do hope you are feeling better. Thanks for your careful copyedits. They are very good. In this edit you changed the "as of" from 2008 to 2009. The reason I put 2008 was that although the source was published in print in 2009, it was available online on 24 September 2008 and accepted on 20 June 2008. Thoughts? Disappointed in you, Fvasconcellos. Here I am with some sources of questioned reliability on caprylidene. And I notice that it has turned blue. Great! Fvasconcellos will have written a nice wee article based on WP:MEDRS sources. Perhaps even a dead tree source with a reputable publisher and an ISBN. I'll pinch one of his. As am I, sir. Drugs.com? I've used it for ages and never had a complaint... :) Seriously, as it is a medical food and not a drug, WP:MEDRS will be quite hard to find. "Caprylidene" is not an INN or USAN, for example, and gets no hits on PubMed; I'll have to find out the code name and track down the original clinical trials... This questionable source hints that an early brand name idea was "Ketasyn". The code name was "AC-1202". The Prescribing Information sheet lists some trials. Those should turn up more sources for you. Colin°^Talk 19:02, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi Fvasconcellos. I've started looking at Metformin. Exploring the history led me to synthalin on which I've assembled enough sources for a reasonable stub. I'm out of time tonight but I'll try to turn it blue tomorrow. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Commons had some SVG chemical structure diagrams of Synthalin A and Synthalin B for me to use. Hint, hint. Bailey 2004 is one source that has the images (watch: the diagrams spells them wrong with an "e" rather than an "a"). Page 276 of ["Drug discovery: a history" by Walter Sneader. John Wiley and Sons, 2005. ISBN: 0471899798.] has alternative images. This page is the first Google Books result for "synthalin b". Colin°^Talk 22:37, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

With you, TSC, JFW and David on board and help from many other kind folks (such as Mr Bungle above), metformin will be a model for collaborative effort if and when it ever makes it over the line. However, Editor182 responded to my note on Sertraline Talk page[1] by vandalizing my user page[2], and he simply deleted[3] my attempt to engage him on his talk page. So I wonder... I would like to add to what The Sceptical Chymist has said. I have noticed user Editor182 popping up on my watch list and his edits are generally harmful; for example randomly adding fact tags for cited content, making changes which worsen the article etc. Furthermore he just blanks any warnings that he receives from other editors as soon as he gets them so he cannot be communicated with. I think that he may need to be indefinitely blocked. Maybe that is a bit of an extreme measure at this point but I mean if he continues being disruptive then this may be a required action in my view.--Literaturegeek | T@1k? 13:34, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I will try to reduce the number of WP: citations in my responses. But remember that the article take page isn't a private email and it isn't your talk page. A discussion there will have other readers at the time, and other readers in the future. There are times when it is helpful to remind all readers that one's argument isn't personal but comes from policy, and when one's argument is attacked, then "quoting scripture" is a natural defence. Fvasconcellos, SandyGeorgia recommended that I seek your advice concerning the biography of Harvey Whittemore, founder of the Whittemore Peterson Institute. My post to Sandy Georgia was:

Would you mind taking a quick look at Harvey Whittemore and commenting on potential BLP violations? I have edited the Xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus article since mid-October. Observing intense POV editing and recruitment by chronic fatigue syndrome patients and advocates, I created Whittemore Peterson Institute in an attempt to shunt the divisive editing atmosphere away from XMRV and into an article where the dictates of WP:MEDRS would not be paramount. During my research, I discovered that a founder of the institute, Harvey Whittemore, is a rather notable and interesting individual, and I created an article about him, as well. Several of the CFS advocates have labeled this biography with NPOV and BLP tags. In my obviously quite biased opinion, the biography is well-referenced and contains nothing resembling a BLP violation. Given your recent involvement in several BLPN issues, I thought I would ask for your opinion should you have the time and inclination. Thanks in advance.

1. You're Brazilian
2. You're from Sao Paulo

Only give me the sense that you're biased and already took a side in this. Therefore I think this is a matter of conflict of interest. I don't think you're using the appropiate tone to address this issue. You're being sarcastical and thus unprofessional as an administrator. You replied in my talk page saying that "it takes two to start an edit war" and the fact that you only warned me, clearly show favoritism.

As a matter of fact I would say that it takes two to fuel an edit war, but it takes one to start it, and the starter here was the other party, introducing what might be considered controversial changes (and easily proved boosterism) without discussing nor having the will to do it. I respectfully disagree that it takes one to start an edit war—this particular issue, for instance, could easily have been addressed by following WP:BRD and further attempts to engage in discussion. I am glad to see that you have started a thread over at the article Talk page; let's see whether Maxpana chooses to respond or simply revert again.

Well, first of all, this sort of compositing is, in a way, "deceiving" the viewer/reader. Besides, the end result is never quite accurate and is rarely aesthetically pleasing. Many readers and editors (myself included) also feel it is disrespectful of the subject and artist of the original works. In the past, even flipping a portrait or colorizing a black-and-white photo have led to significant debate and argument. A valet? A butler? A member of the bodyguard? That's a good question. He was certainly a free man. Historians simply call him an "all purpose man" in the Palace. Pedro I considered Rafael his "homem de confiança" (man of trust). Pedro II used him - as Rafael grew older (he was born in 1790) - more as a companion than a servant. 3# I realize you are trying to give a sense of just how restrictive and "unchildlike" his early life was, but this strikes me as excessively trivial. And you're right on both accounts. Having become an orphan of both father and mother at a young age, living in constant fear and manipulated by political factions, and having no time to be simply be a "child" but a "Emperor-to-be" affected him and are responsible to his character as an adult, that is, the man who was devoted to his office as "father of the nation" but at the same time hated not having ever the opportunity to live a normal life. 4# "A bill was promulgated on 4 September 1850..." The article deliberately does not mention other historical figures far more important than Eusébio de Queirós such as Honório Carneiro Leão, Marquis of Paraná, José Paranhos, Viscount of Rio Branco and Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias. Hi, I have a problem with the article White Argentine. In the article I mentioned many people who are Argentine by birth and by option (they immigrated when they were children and stayed in Argetnina until their death, or they are now living there). All those people mentioned in the article are perfectly Caucasian by phenotype, and all have European/Middle Eastern ancestry. To see the names, check this older version of the article, for they are now removed. This is because some users appeared criticizing the article and alleging that mentioning all those persons without a source that explicitly define them as "White Argentine/Argentinian" was a breach to Wikipedia's BLP policy. Is that true? Because I read the article of WP policy on categorization by ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality, and the topic "Race" is still under dispute. Besides, one of the users that criticizes the article is also involved in the proposal/discussion/RfC of the policy itself. If the matter isn't still resolved, can they apply a rule that it is not fully valid yet? If I provide sources that every living Argentine mentioned in the article is of predominantly European ancestry, isn't that enough to define him/her as White?
