I don't want to single too many people out for thankspam, but I wanted to do so for you because we met under rather hostile terms. It's only been a year, but having the support of someone I've butted heads with means a lot to me, so you have my gratitude. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 17:15, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
true
false
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:16, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question, and maybe its a silly one. I noticed you blanked the last response from Chzz that he appended to my last post. Why you do that? I'm just curious, that's all - no biggie.
We've never met before, so I checked out your User page. That is an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME picture you have of that snowy, isolated, winter scene, and what REALLY blew my mind is, it is UNCANNILY similar to the kinds of photos my 20 year old daughter takes. She is a very TALENTED girl with stuff like that. Be advised I took the liberty of copying it to my Desktop with the intent of (a) using it for a background, and (b) showing it to my daughter. I hope that's OK.
Anyway, drop by sometime. TTYL.

On this page, do the l2 headings after my posting look different to the ones before? They do to me. Apparently, it is because you have an unclosed 'font' tag in the top part of this page, and the <span> in my sig causes that to close. Odd. You can see it more clearly here.
I don't quite know the answer, because maybe you want to force smaller headings; but unclosed tags are a bit evil, and can do weird things like this! Chzz ► 03:21, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ciao, Mlpearc. I was looking through Category:Welcome templates and saw several user talkpages there. I checked the pages and it looks like the culprit is substituted instances of User:Mlpearc/Accwelcome that haven't been cleaned up. If you mean for that to be substituted, you need to use <noinclude> for the categories or put them in a noinclude'd documentation subpage. Best, Skomorokh 23:16, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why you feel obliged to issue advice about citing source you don't actually look at the source provide. In the David Cook page, the sentence you deleted is sourced - it's an actual interview where David Cook personally stated that fact. It's straight from the horse's mouth, and as reliable as any source can be. Hzh (talk) 12:17, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Guild of Copy Editors – May 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive
The Guild of Copy Editors invite you to participate in the May 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive, a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy-editing. The drive began on May 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on May 31 at 23:59 (UTC). The goals of this backlog elimination drive are to eliminate as many articles as possible from the 2009 backlog and to reduce the overall backlog by 15%. ! NEW ! In an effort to encourage the final elimination of all 2009 articles, we will be tracking them on the leaderboard for this drive.
Awards and barnstars A range of barnstars will be awarded to active participants. Some are exclusive to GOCE drives. More information on awards can be found on the main drive page.
We look forward to meeting you on the drive! Your GOCE coordinators: SMasters, Diannaa, Tea with toast, Chaosdruid, and Torchiest

Hello! Moonrise (Warriors) is currently under GA review, and the nominator suggested that I get it copyedited by an uninvolved editor. Since you're part of the GOCE, I was wondering if you would like to copyedit this article? Brambleclawx 14:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello dear Mlpearc ,
Thanks for your friendly message. I was looking up the submission on New Racism in the wikipedia and then wondered how I could maybe add as a reference my latest book, which is called New Racism: Revisiting Researcher Accountabilities . The book can be found at http://www.springer.com/978-90-481-8727-0.
I could perhaps make a subsection called "Researching New Racism" and the book title (and Springer webpage) could go in there? I am not very familiar with how this could be done! I wonder if you could do it for me: that is, just add a subection called Researching New Racism and say: Norma R A Romm's book published by Springer in 2010 offers an indepth exploration of ways in which research around New Racism can be undertaken in an accountable way, in view of the possible impact of research itself on the continuing unfolding of the quality of our social exietence.
I am not sure of the rules for writing to you! But thanks for being a volunteer and putting your time into helping the wikipedia and people like me!
I see it says I must end with (Norma Romm (talk) 13:37, 30 May 2011 (UTC)). Thanks again (Norma Romm (talk) 13:37, 30 May 2011 (UTC)).[reply]
Now I do not know how to submit this! I wonder if I am succeeding!
Hello Mlpearc
As you can see I am not very familiar with this system and I still do not know if I must end my posts to you with my signature (Norma Romm) or with the 4 tildes Norma Romm 14:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC).
I recognise that it is not good practice in terms of conflict of interest to write articles about oneself! But I was wondering about editing an article by adding a book one has written on the subject. Would that be considered good pracitce. So for instanace I would like to add my book on New Racism published by Springer last year onto the submission on New Racism in the encyclopedia. Do I need to rather ask an another person who is familiar with the book to do the edit? I hope you do not mind my asking you some questions. But I see tha you are a volunteer for the wikipedia. I hope I can succesfully send this messsage to you! With good wishes from me, Norma Romm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Norma Romm (talk • contribs) 14:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again Mlpearc
I just read the message from Frank and I see he is talking about different people doing edits to others' articles. Is one allowed to simply do an edit?
Anyway, I think I have determined that when I used the 4 tildes at the end of my message to you, it makes my name automatically as I have signed it! (That is, the computer converts it to Norma Romm) This system is not altogether familiar to me!
I do not want to disturb you too much, but I hope you will receive my messages and answer them. Will I get an email notification telling me if you do? Thanks for all your help meanwhile (in anticipation),

just wanted to let you know that i reverted your edit on the SR-71 i found infomation on http://www.globalaircraft.org/planes/mig-25_foxbat.pl that stated the MIG to fly at speeds of mach 3.2 "The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 (NATO reporting name "Foxbat") was a super fast interceptor and reconnaissance/bomber aircraft (its speeds are still not matched today!) designed by the Soviet Union's Mikoyan-Gurevich bureau. First flown as a prototype in 1964, it entered service in 1970.With a top speed of Mach 3.2(however the engines would blow up at that speed ), a powerful radar and four air-to-air missiles, the MiG-25 worried Western observers and prompted development of the F-15 Eagle." -The lost library (talk) 13:54, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Not trying to vandalize. Just please delete these articles. There is no point in having them flagged for deletion. If they are not "notable" enough for a free web encyclopedia, then just delete them. You can also delete this account as I don't know how to myself. Thanks and I'm not trying to be rude at all.

Hey, you know, it's alright to decline requests as a non-admin. You do good work at WP:PERM, and your input is most definitely welcome. Sorry if I came off as curt earlier. Besides the two declines I notified you about earlier, there really was no need to remove all your comments at WP:PERM! Hope you'll consider restoring them. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 03:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I note that after my request for rollback rights was accepted you questioned this decision and described me as a “user [who] has issues to work through”. I dare say that every one of is fallible and has issues to deal with, but that aside prehaps you could elaborate on the issues you think I need to “work though” (maybe I can learn from your insights). I hope I haven't offended you, and I do appreciate all NAO comments (indeed I argued keep at the MFD of the NAO template). A second set of eyes is allways handy. You're right however, admins have very different standards for rollback however the minimum standards are largely agreed if not codified by the regulars at PERM. Please don't feel your input is not valued - it is. Pedro : Chat 07:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know whether or not you have checked, but I have tried to discuss this with Hoponpop69, and he has openly admitted he refuses to discuss it. He has also threatened me with further action if I revert him. What am I supposed to do, be bullied and let it go? He said he'd file a report if I reverted him back to the original version, so I did - hopefully that will put an end to it. I am not attempting to make any change to the article and I don't really appreciate being templated for this. It pays to look a little further into matters before templating experienced editors. With regards to this I mentioned in my edit summary to why I deleted it, and that was to not confuse the editor. And not to sound 'cocky' or 'up myself' but keeping your comment would make me look 'unprofessional' when I'm the one asking the question. Just saying... :)

What would be the procedure to insert a fact contained in a film or TV show? You reverted a statement I put about something that was said in a "Get Smart" episode. That episode itself should be the reference for the fact. Anybody watching Get Smart episode 15 season 3 will hear the words "they are going to attack all the squares of the establishment, you dig, and, scooby dooby doo, Chaos walks right in and takes over". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vhilden (talk • contribs) 22:58, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
