Some clarifications about the Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds lineupHello. I've noticed that you reverted my edit on the NGHFB page and that you left a message on my User talk page. There's been a bit of an edit war about the band lineup recently, as you might have noticed. The correct version was my last edit, just before you reverted it to an older, incorrect version by an anonymous user. Gem Archer ha performed occasionally with the band since December 2015, so 2015 is the correct date (you can check this page on setlist dot fm, for instance [1], or just look for the gig video on BBC iPlayer or Youtube). Also, the 2017 date makes zero sense since the band hasn't performed yet this year. By the way, I'm not a newbie on Wiki so I know a couple of things about how this stuff works, I'm just not that active on the EN pages. Cheers! M-Car (talk) 16:57, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

A message from Saharawiki In response to your messgesTo: Mlpearc I just discovered a previously unread stash of demeaning messages that you'd sent me in March via Wikipedia. You sound arrogant and bullying -- with, I suspect, an ego that's seriously entangled in your own writing. (Perhaps you cannot bear a correction.) Not to reveal the specifics of my identity, but I am an author and journalist, as well as a professional and experienced editor. I've worked with some of the leading publications you are likely to encounter (for all I know, maybe you have, too). Behind every change I make for writing quality, there's always a logic and, in my view, a strong reason. None of it is arbitrary or capricious. I hope you might be sensitive enough to appreciate that. With my edits/corrections, I am, for example, attentive to: - Grammatical Danglers: I always correct them. (e.g. 'Lying in bed in his boxer shorts, the phone rang.' — I hate to think of the phone lying around in its boxer shorts!! Of course, a simple correction might be: As he lay in bed in his boxer shorts, the phone rang. Believe it or not, that sort of thing -- though not quite so amusingly expressed -- crops up regularly in Wikipedia. People not attuned to such errors miss the nuances, but they are significant.) - Grammatically messy conditions, where, say, the pronoun doesn't agree logically with the immediate antecedent. (That can also be subtle to the untrained ear, but it's a real error that also appears frequently in Wikipedia.) I always correct that, as well. - The passive voice. It's a weak construction that hobbles good writing. So, whenever possible, I turn passives into actives -- but always and only when the modification improves the flow and general quality of the text. - Repeated words or phrases in close proximity: not optimal and not usually great writing, if better alternative wording choices are available. So, I make those changes. - Run-on sentences.(They are grammatically incorrect -- and can exhaust the reader.) - Excessive, roundabout verbiage or lack of clarity. If writing can be succinct and clear -- without sacrificing meaning or content -- why run on at the mouth? Sometimes there's a compelling argument for streamlining or compression (again, with the understanding that no valuable content gets lost). - Etc. (I think I've given you enough specific examples.) Your messages to me were not only aggressive and inappropriate, but seriously out of line. Is this the way you treat everyone? Ouch. A message from 72.23.96.191Hello. I was editing the times for some Pink Floyd albums as they were incorrect. Both Allmusic and the albums added to YouTube by Pink Floyd have the correct times, as I was trying to change them to these. How can I cite that I was using Allmusic as the source for the correct times? Thanks. 72.23.96.191 (talk) 22:22, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
I don't understand what is wrong. I have cited the source for Allmusic for all my changes. 72.23.96.191 (talk) 22:59, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
The consensus does not seem right to me. I actually have cited sources for my edits. I don't see cited sources for the consensus. 72.23.96.191 (talk) 23:03, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
I honestly apologize for making these changes without realizing there were things that needed to be discussed first. I was just trying to change what I saw was wrong. I do not have time now to discuss this further, but please bring the changes into consideration in the future. 72.23.96.191 (talk) 23:10, 28 April 2017 (UTC) Please stop creating a new section each time you leave a message, just add it to this section. - Mlpearc (open channel) 23:12, 28 April 2017 (UTC) Sorry, I didn't realize that I could edit this. Image sizeHey there. I know that per WP:IMAGESIZE we are not supposed to force a fixed image width without a good reason. However, in recent runs updating deprecated infobox image syntax, I have been routinely challenged when removing fixed image sizes that I believe are marginally similar to infobox template defaults. This occurred most recently with {{Infobox planet}}, which prompted my preserving the image sizes for someone else to challenge later (as in Titan (moon)). Is

Multiple reverts in SR-71 articleGood evening. You have (again) reverted my edit in Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird by which I had put it into category "Low wing aircraft". Your quoted "reason" was that this fact is "Not mentioned in article". Well, obvious facts do not necessarily have to appear in a written form. As an example take the article about the BAC One-Eleven aircraft. Nowhere in the text would you see "low-wing", but would you really claim that it is not a low-wing aircraft after looking at all the photographs? In the SR-71 article you can find a fine 3-view drawing which quite clearly shows its characteristics. If still in doubt, please read the definition of Low wing. Self-evident facts taken from a photograph need no additional written confirmation to be considered as valid. Please put the mentioned category in place again. Thank you. --Uli Elch (talk) 19:00, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Why impunitively delete works whose permissions are pendingYou're deleting staff that on average takes about a month to be followed thru. Having owners of the works comply is a process, so why not give it time before rapidly deleting the work. We have to hold phone conversations and sometimes meet these individuals personally which takes time. So I don't think it's justifiable for you to just delete something within minutes of upload. Also, there are works that are owned by agencies of the Uganda Government and they have authorized us in person to use these works since they're of public figures and in the public domain in the country and you still go ahead and simply delete the works within minutes of upload with impunity. It's unfair for you to sit behind your iMac and just delete things. Please stop! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MonkeyKingdom (talk • contribs) 08:40, May 22, 2017 (UTC)

What exactly is wrong with you? We're on the ground right here in Uganda. We personally meet these people. And that image you just deleted was uploaded by the owner himself coz he asked one of our agents to show him how to upload the photos he took with his own phone so that they could be used on his bio since he's a subjet of a Wikipedia article. Those Paul Amoru photos on Commons are not anywhere on the internet. Why don't you just rewrite your own Mlpearc Wikipedia rules instead of trolling our pages. Are you the only one with the license to monitor MonkeyKingdom edits? Leave our pages alone and we won't follow you on Mlpearcpedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MonkeyKingdom (talk • contribs) 05:32, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

A message from 217.45.31.240Hi I think you changed my edit to the line about Bowie's mother having Irish ancestry. The actual citation in the article only says that her *father* had Irish ancestry: '[Her father] Jimmy Burns's parents were poor Irish immigrants who had settled in Manchester" p.16 "[Jimmy] had known [her mother] in Manchester. Her name was Margaret Heaton"' Whilst the citation doesn't explicitly say her mother was of English extraction, the name Heaton is certainly English. But whatever the mum's extraction, in the name of accuracy can I suggest the article is changed to make it clear that only Bowie's mother's father was of Irish extraction as at present it is misleading. Personally I think the fact that 2 of Bowie's great-grandparents were from Ireland is not even worth mentioning at all but if it's going to be in this article I think greater clarity is called for.
