Week 6 ** BONUS ** from Qianyue1. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment? Overall, the course assignment was very fulfilling. Although it was an assignment, I found it very exciting and did not bore me at any moment. It was interesting reading the short Wikipedia articles. However, the assignment not only required me to read, but also understand them and note some of their shortcomings. As a result, I have gained a lot of information that will help in real life. It has also improved my research skills. 2. What you learned? By emphasizing on using reference materials that have DOI numbers, I have learned that these are qualitative articles that offer credible information. Whenever I need to reference my work, I should always seek such academic articles. Nevertheless, finding the articles was a challenge. The usual search using Google would yield little to none of the desired results. I had to refine my search terms or use online libraries to find relevant articles. Therefore, it is right to say I have learned to use search engines and online libraries to locate credible academic research articles. 3. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia? I intend to continue editing Wikipedia articles. As a free resource that depends on individuals to post information, I believe I should continue contributing to this noble platform. Since I am a knowledgeable person, I should take it as my duty to ensure readers are fed with the correct information. Some of the authors post information that is at times misleading but that serves no good. Since I have now known how editing is done, I will be adding relevant information and correcting any incorrect information on all Wikipedia articles I read. However, I will avoid editing some if the technical information they present is beyond my understanding. Charlene 1022 (talk) 18:34, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

** BONUS ** from Wang16631. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment. I believe this course assignment is well set. These assignments teach me how to modify the wiki, share my knowledge and do peer review about other articles. This course also reminds me to be responsible for what I am sharing. This why we need to be careful when we play with the citation. 2. What you learned. It is important to share your knowledge and modify other people's mistake. In addition, I also could add useful information on the wiki. 3. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. I would like to share my knowledge in the future. Since I am going to be the expert in some area in the future, it is fun to share what people don't know and help people get what they want to learn. It is just fun to do it. Week 6 bonus assignment from Yushuang LiWhat your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment. it leads me to a field that I never know it does exist. I use wiki a lot even when I am in China. now, I become part of it. I feel so proud that I can make such contribution to others' articles. What you learned. I think the most precious thing that I learned in this wiki assignment is about the importance of reliable sources and copyright. before, i don't pay attention to the quality of a article and regard every published article as a reliable resource. through doing the wiki assignment I realized a article without reliable reference can be useless for the readers. Moreover, copyright problems should also be outlined. Using others' music and pictures without their agreement may even cause some legal problems if we use for business intention. this course teaches me a lot for how to deal with the copyright which is very helpful for my work in the future. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. I would like to continue. wiki is not only a platform for information but also for communication. I find that having conversation with the author and readers to improve an article together is of great fun.YushuangLL (talk) 22:59, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

**BONUS** From Xiaoya Zhang1. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment. It is a special experience. Before the course, I use Wiki only to find information and even I know that I can also edit it, I thought it is something that the professionals should do. But because of this assignment, I found that I am capable of adding resources too, it is not that difficult and I can contribute too. 2. What you learned. First, I learned how to edit the source so that I can share the importation I found with the world. Second, We need to be responsible for what we add to Wiki since a lot of people do acquire knowledge using it. Third, I really read a lot when trying to add something to the article, so I learn more about the topic that I am interested in. 3. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. I think it depends. If I read something on Wiki that I am familiar with and I find that some more information can be added, I will continue editing. But if not, then I won't. I just won't do it on purpose. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XiaoyaZ (talk • contribs) 15:29, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

**Bonus**--- Enzhuang WangWhat your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment? It was awesome actually. Becasue for me, wikipedia is a platform that I can find anything I need. But now I can do something for wikipedia and I can share what I found previous, making me feel that I am doing something important for others. Using this paltform, the progress helped me to develope critical thinking skills and told me that not everhing is right on this platform. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment What you learned. As I said before, my critical thinking skills were developed and I learned the strict process of editing. Before, I would use any information that I can find from internet to support my claim but now, I will distinguish the reliability of those information and only use the information which have been proved or peer reviewed. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. For me, I think I will continue to edit on Wikipedia China because first, Chinese is my first language and I am more familiar with Chinese so that I can edit those information more precisely and accurately, decreasing the conflicts for readers. Besides, after I graduate, I might go back China and it is hard for me to search adequate English areticle to support my opinions on Wikipedia. All in all, that is an awesome journey to edit on wikipedia and I really enjoyed it. Thank you professor! OliverWang (talk) 19:36, 7 March 2018 (UTC)OliverWang

** BONUS ** from Hongyi JiangHi professor, Here are my answers. 1. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment. Overall, it is really good. I felt a sense of satisfaction by using my knowledge to contribute to the Wikipedia society and potentially anyone who will read the pages in the future. I can ensure that my edits are credible and are from reliable sources so hopefully they won't mislead anybody. 2. What you learned. Basically, before this course I was a Wikipedia reader and never a editor. Now I know how to make credible edits and share what I think is valuable to the potential readers in the future. I also learned about how to tell credible citations from those who are not so credible. Since most of the items and pages are likely to have been edited by a lot of editors, we can not trust all the listed information. But now I know which ones are more reliable and which ones are not. 3. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. I will continue editing Wikipedia.Since i probably will continue reading journals and writing essays, it will be rewarded for me to share those knowledge with other people who wish to learn it in an easier way -- reading Wikipedia. I only get knowledge from the wikipedia and I never thought I can make contribution for any of these articles. What you learned? I know how to edit articles and how to communicate with the authors under the talk page. It is interesting that I can learn more about Wikipedia. Since I have to ensure the reliability of my editing, it forced me to read more articles and learn more knowledge about different topic. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia? ** BONUS ** from DorisWhat your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment? First, I found the overall experience with wiki editing is helpful. Before this assignment, I never think about editing an wiki article. This assignment has helped me with developing critical thinking skills. What you learned? Second, I've learned how to find reliable and verifiable articles from this assignment (as well as our RPM course). Since all wiki articles are neutral, my contribute need to be neutral as well. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia? Third, I will continue editing on wiki since I think it is one of the best ways to share my knowledge with people all over the world. I added one more section regarding the factors that can affect mood to make it look better and make the information more complete. --SerinaNiux (talk) 19:22, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
** BONUS ** from Serina1. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment? In the previous studies, I used Wikipedia a lot to search for some basic concepts, but I did not know it has so many functions, such as the talk page, sandbox, and the peer review sessions. I learned to edit articles and connect with other people online to evaluate the articles and improve my effectiveness in research. It is a very interesting process to learn and practice using it. 2. What you learned? First, I learned the importance of plagiarism, the ways of editing words and pictures, and the significance of citations. Everyone can make contributions to the article and use research or their own knowledge to help improve the information on the internet. People do not need to worry whether they make the information become wrong, since there are experts can manage the information and control the Wikipedia website. Second, I learned the ways to express my own ideas in the sandbox and connect with others by talk page. The code is very interesting to learn as well. Once people connect with each other, it became a fun and enjoyable process to communicate and share ideas to hear from the others and improve yourself. 3. Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia? I may intend to continue editing on Wikipedia when I finish doing some research related to this topic and I am confident about the validity and reliability of the information. However, I will not edit a lot in daily life, since a lot of my previous edits were changed by the manager due to lack of profficiency in information or words. Overall, this is a very interesting tool to learn! Thank you for your teaching in this semester! --SerinaNiux (talk) 19:49, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Week 6 check-in message from QiHi professor, I have assigned myself two new articles: Oculus Rift (changes) and 360-degree video (changes). *** Bonus*** from Qi JiangIt was a really interesting experience in this Wikipedia course. I search a lot on Google, and if there is a wiki page about the things I want to search, I will definitely click it. When I started to work on it, especially adding new content into the article, I felt very exciting because someone may be need these information. I used to enjoy the work did by others, but now I am the one who is contributing on it. This Wikipedia course taught me the basic knowledge on how to use the edit function. In the first week assignment, the 30 minutes introduction video was extremely helpful for a beginner. Beside the fundamental operations, I also learned the Wikipedia rules and culture. Since wiki is completely transparency and public website, every participant have to follow specific guideline to create a friendly and well-aligned society. I did see conditions that people have different opinions on a specific topic, but they all presented their own ideas politely through the take page. This is a great place for people to cooperate. I used to be very happy if I can find something useful on Wikipedia, either because it is well concluded or because it has reliable resource that I can search deeper. Thanks to this Wikipedia course, I know how to make my own contributions on it and use my knowledge to make someone else happy. I thought Wikipedia have a group of people working everyday to write each article, and I was a little shocked when I knew Wekipedia is actual developed by people in every place. It is great for people work together and accumulate all level of knowledge. I like the way Wikipedia works, and I would like to continue editing on it. Shine821 (talk) 19:48, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Week 6 Illustrate an article from Wei HaoHi Professor, I assigned a new article Hans Wegner. He is my favorite furniture designer. When I looked at his most famous designs described on his wiki page, I could rarely found images. For a designer's page, it is important to have some images to let readers know his works. Therefore, I added two images to his wiki page. Here is the revision link. Two Pictures are downloaded from CC Search and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. Wink1021 (talk) 22:04, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
** BONUS ** from Wei Hao1. The Wikipedia assignment is a little complicated than I thought before. It has many regulations and rules, which are good. It makes me know that many people are contributing to Wikipedia, and it is professional even it is free and everyone edit. I really respect what Wikipedia did so far. All six weeks courses helped me to know how to contribute to the Wikipedia step by step, and the rhythm is good. 2. I was really glad that I go through plagiarism training section on Wikipedia before starting my research paper. It is very clear and helpful. And insert image section makes know how to use an image under copyright. This course will benefit me in all my future course and careers. 3. I definitely will continue to editing on Wikipedia. I've always seen something on Wikipedia that needs to be revised, but I always thought that's not my thing and I don't even know how to revise them. But now I learned how to do it, and I think next time when I see something needs to be edit, I will edit it. Wink1021 (talk) 22:38, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
