Hey EditorShane3456! I noticed on your user page you have an interest in American politics, and recently you edited a little regarding Hurricane Erin. I have been working on a new draft/topic that you might be interested in: Draft:Influence of severe weather on American politics. The article focuses on how politics get affected or influenced by severe weather. For example, how Hurricane Helene last year influenced the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, as well as how the U.S. Congress investigated (twice actually) FEMA's response to the effects of Hurricane Helene. Even sub-pages such as the United States Congress hearing on Hurricane Ian, investigating how FEMA did a horrible job in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian in 2022.

I do not know if you would be interested in this topic, but I wanted to let you know about it. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to 2021 Tri-State tornado, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name does not follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. • Normally, page moves such as the one you did (renaming 2021 Tri-State tornado to 2021 Monette-Samburg Tornado) would be perfectly acceptable. However, for this specific article, a a previous discussion from May-July 2025 had a consensus to keep the name of the article "2021 Tri-State tornado", rather than another name. Hello, WeatherWriter, the reason why I moved the page was that there simply was no common name to use, keeping a name change based on consensus is not always reliable, as consensus can change over days, weeks, month years, centuries even. I think that using the name "2021 Tri-state Tornado" feels much more weird due to we having a tornado known as the "2021 Western Kentucky" so, we can atleast make a new name that matches its very powerful counterpart or keep it the same and have useless move discussions, thank you. shane (talk) 20:02, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

I would recommend making a requested move discussion on the article's talk page. I do fully agree that we do not have a clear-cut common name for the tornado. That said, since there has been two different discussions (1st in February 2025 & 2nd May-July 2025) to rename the article that ended with the current name remaining, a discussion is needed to change the name. I do agree with you on a new name being needed. We just unfortunately need to go through a discussion. Propose a name on the talk page, and I will probably fully support it! I understand you have multiple acounts. Please review our policy page Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#Legitimate uses for how alternate accounts are handled and when they are appropriate. You'll notice that it states that all alternate accounts have to be declared on your main User page. I don't see that you have done that yet so please take care of this in the interest of transparency and so that you will not be suspected of sockpuppetry. Many editors have more than one account so we have developed a way of handling this and it includes their declaration to the rest of the community. Also, you should always edit logged into one of your registered accounts.

Hi! I noticed that you briefly created a page for the Marion tornado. Two things: 1. When starting a new tornado page, please read WP:NTORNADO, as it helps assess whether a tornado is notable. At this time I unfortunately don't think the Marion tornado is, based on prior assessments I've made. 2. I have a guide to writing about tornadoes that can be utilized by anyone, so if you ever need help feel free to consult that. Thanks! :)

But you were doing the same thing, in fact three times vs their two. Do you think that your behavior is somehow exempt from the same scrutiny? What allows you to edit war but not others?

For that matter, please read Wikipedia:Edit warring, specifically the section that describes what edit warring isn’t: reverting vandalism and enforcing policies.

For one thing, the now-blocked editor was counting the total number of edits, not of edits by an editor, because I didn't remove the malformed notice three times. I removed it twice and you removed it also. Now we don't know what they were trying to discuss, but it probably doesn't matter. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:52, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
