User talk:Devon FysonSpeedy deletion nomination of File:Eclipsed.png![]() A tag has been placed on File:Eclipsed.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. We noticed though that when you edited Fingerprint recognition, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ultrasonic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC) Chia editHello Devon. Thanks for your courteous and thoughtful discussion on my Talk Page. Briefly concerning my revert, 1) the article you used provides nutrient information on chia seeds ("nutlets") that is redundant with existing content both in the chia article and the main article of Salvia hispanica (see nutrition table, as you acknowledge). It was one preliminary and primary study, apparently not repeated or confirmed by others, and not a comprehensive review that would justify it being included. Most of the nutrition discussions at WP rely on the objectivity and expertise of the USDA, so I felt your source and content added nothing significant as different from the USDA values. 2) the SEM study by Capitani et al. revealed other microstructural details that, if discussed in detail, represent non-encyclopedic information, i.e., WP:UNDUE to emphasize it. Also see WP:NOTTEXTBOOK, #6. You also say "I would much more appreciate an article full of primary references than no article at all or an uncited article" to which I respond with a) we are writing an encyclopedia, not a journal article or manual, so primary sources not supported by a secondary source are easily misleading and need to offer information having substance for general encyclopedic information, which the Capitani report does not, in my opinion; and b) regarding unsourced statements, we need to find sources for them. If they are questionable for truth, then they should be removed. Kind regards. --Zefr (talk) 16:21, 10 January 2017 (UTC) ArbCom 2017 election voter messageHello, Devon Fyson. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hydrometer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mercury (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
