Hi David, seems you and I are the ones who are mostly dealing with/monitoring the Kirksville entry, so wanted to bounce a thought off you. In the Politics section there are two paragraphs below the councilmembers bios that strike me as somewhat subjective and possibly POV violations. I.E. talking about the council being more "progressive" than past ones, former councilmembers involved in scandals, etc. I'm all for the truth, warts & all, but the wording of the paragraphs seems to have, and I guess by this I mean "liberal", ideological bent. What say you? Take a moment to read when you have a chance and give me some feedback. Much appreciated! P.S. I've finally gotten a start on moving some of the history info to its more proper place on the Adair Co. wiki entry as we discussed some months ago. Editing the text of Rumspringa on my part is far from being unconstructive. Having been born and raised Amish and living in multiple Amish sects for 35 years would tend to make one an authority on the subject. I understand that you may have read a book or two on the subject, but 99% of the books out there are far from the truth. If you buy into to your belief of Rumspringa, you must also believe that every Italian is a mobster. Grow up and let one who knows first hand report the facts as they are. The facts as placed by me can be verified by any other Amish or Mennonite individual in an Amish society in America.

David - could you please try to retain the section links in your edit summaries? on talk Alt Med you delete them about half the time, and it make it really hard to find your posts. thanks. --Ludwigs2 18:00, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I don't know if you saw it, but another editor reverted your removal of the pop culture section in the article [1], making reference to a "compromise" on the talk page. In fact, there was no compromise arrived at in that discussion at Talk:Doris Day#In popular culture. Another editor and I objected to the extensive content and the same editor who reverted you accused us of tag-teaming. Then he stopped replying and another editor spoke up for adding lyrics to one song. No compromise was proposed and none accepted. I didn't revert you because frankly, I agree with you. I would support your removal if it were brought up on the talk page and I'm quite positive Rossrs would also. Just wanted you to know. Wildhartlivie (talk) 04:09, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Just wanted it on record that I had logged in prior to reverting you just now, but for some reason I've been getting logged out automatically once in awhile. Didn't want it to appear that I was trying to do it anonymously. In one of the books I read (or two) it says he was making a rope for John Coble.

I seriously do not believe he was making the rope that hanged him. You'll need a better reference than LofA. Where did they get that from? Lets cut out the middle-man.

John C. Coble was the rancher from Albany County, Wyoming, who hired Horn. He was born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, to John and Elizabeth (née Williams) Coble in 1848. Pick up any book on Horn, and Coble is mentioned prominently. He was also a member of the local stockman's association. Coble hired Horn publicly to do ranch work; herd, round-up, rope, brand cattle, break horses, ride fence, watch over stock on higher summer pasture, etc. Privately it is said that he approached Horn on behalf of the association and hired him to stop rustling, 'by any means necessary.' Coble paid for Horn's defense attorney, paid for his casket and funeral expenses, paid for the publication of the book Life of Tom Horn: Government Scout and Interpreter written by Horn while he was in jail. Coble was played by Richard Farnsworth in the McQueen film, and they changed his name for the other film to Noble. Which claim are you talking about? Hi David. Noticed you had reversed the spelling of the lake at Thousand Hills State Park from Forrest back to Forest under wiki RS guidelines. Its not a big hairy deal in the grand scheme of things, its just an extra R, but fyi here's a link to a story in The Chariton Collector that explains how the lake was named for Gov. Forrest Smith.

My second reliable source on the spelling is "A Book Of Adair County History" published by the Kirksville-Adair County Bicentennial Committee. Its not available online but I can scan the particular pages and e-mail to you if you wish. Unless there was some sort of official name change made in the last 34 years I'm not aware of, its always been spelled with two R's, and evidently the Visit Kirksville website has it wrong. Ok, I'll stop being anal retentive now (LOL), as you've always been a great help to me here. Just wanted to show where I was comming from on that spelling, and that I re-reverted it. I'm a little unclear about this item you added:

The viral video Hatten är din reinterprets an Arabic lyric into nonsense Swedish lyrics.

Does that mean it recites nonsense Swedish lyrics that can be heard as a true Arabic lyric? Or that it recites the Arabic lyrics and then ... with subtitles maybe? ... reads them as nonsense Swedish?

Either way, I'm not sure it's really a reverse Mondegreen, but a deliberate mondegreen, or even a soramimi because it crosses languages. It certainly seems a very different beast than Mairzy Doats, and it seems odd to have them lumped together.
