- @علي بدر العتيبي Thank you for letting me know; I will review the discussion and address any concerns. Charlie (talk) 02:38, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
Hello @CharlieMehta,
I noticed your contributions to WikiProject Africa / Seychelles and was hoping you might consider offering a second opinion or any guidance on a draft article I’ve been working on: Draft:Bibhakar Ranjan.
The subject is a dental surgeon & health advocate who worked extensively in Seychelles and contributed to public health outreach, media education, and regional AI initiatives. The draft includes multiple in-depth media citations from Seychelles Nation, Seychelles News Agency, and other notable outlets which i could easily find on Internet. Although there are many citations which i couldn't put it in the draft as they were available in Print media rather online. However, the draft was recently declined for not meeting notability criteria, and I’m now seeking your perspectives as you know the Africa & Seychelles region better than any other Wikipedia contributor, in order to consider the local and regional impact.
If you have a moment, your input would be genuinely appreciated. Thank you for your time!
Warm regards,
MedAuthor Medauthor (talk) 12:14, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Medauthor I have reviewed the draft for Bibhakar Ranjan. While it's clear he's had a good impact through his dental and public health efforts, the main issue is that the article doesn't yet meet Wikipedia’s notability rules, particularly WP:BIO and WP:GNG. These require significant coverage in independent, reliable secondary sources that are accessible for verification... preferably online and not just in passing mention or quotes from interviews. Also, the
"World's Top 100 Doctors"
award isn't considered notable because it's not listed on List of medicine awards. It’s very likely a vanity award, which means it may have been given more for publicity than for real professional achievement. Charlie (talk) 01:22, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello, CharlieMehta. Which part of this draft looks like promotional?–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 17:45, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- The draft clearly presents him in an overly positive light, more like an advertisement than a neutral article. It focuses on his role in founding Index Group, praises his work on fuel and water issues, and portrays him as a significant figure in sports like cycling and hockey. Every business venture and event he has been involved in is described positively, even those that didn’t succeed, while any negative details are left out. The draft needs a more balanced perspective and additional context to align with Wikipedia’s WP:NPOV policy. You are a New Page Reviewer (like me) and likely a much better judge of this than I am. Charlie (talk) 17:56, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I am a new page reviewer and have experience creating multiple articles. I only added facts related to his work, supported by reliable sources. I considered him notable as a sports organizer, as he served as the national head of a government organization and also as an international adviser. If there is nothing negative reported in reliable sources, how can I include such information? Is it necessary to add negative content without a source?–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 18:08, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello CharlieMehta, I have reduced some content related to gas and water issues after reviewing the entire article. It can be improved further by adding information from reliable sources. I aim to keep my articles clean, with every piece of information properly cited. I recently applied for autopatrol rights, so I want to make sure this draft is well-maintained—especially since I haven't had any drafts in the past three years. I also reviewed the sports-related topics again but couldn't find anything in reliable sources that should be added or removed. Do you have any suggestions?–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 17:20, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- After not receiving any response from you, I moved this page into the mainspace. I would like to address your concern. The article clearly meets the criteria of WP:GNG. I also want to highlight some significant coverage beyond what is already mentioned in the article. For instance, a Kalbela report, a Jugantor report, a Manab Zamin report, a kaler kantho report kalbela report two, Jugantor report two and an Ittefaq report. I avoided including all of them to prevent Wikipedia:Citation overkill. Reports already cited in the article describe him as one of the country's major sports figures—particularly noting his role as the country's first international hockey administrator: a Bhorer Kagoj report, a banglanews24.com report, etc. Reports related to his role as the head of a national government body and as chairman of an international cup further satisfies the WP:GNG criteria.–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 08:09, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Owais Al Qarni I don't know what to say, because my words might cast aspersions. Instead of focusing on properly updating the page, you just moved it as it was. This was the least expected from an NPP right holder. Charlie (talk) 08:24, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

I have written this text using Norwegian sources, including news articles and a local historical society. However, it keeps getting rejected due to what is considered "poor sources." I want to emphasize that there are no other available sources on this topic—this is a Norwegian company, and naturally, the information I found is from Norwegian websites. I have used the best and most relevant sources accessible. Please help me or accept the Wikipedia page

Hi. You recently moved the page Bengali Islamic nationalism to Draft:Bengali Islamic nationalism. There is now another (expanded) version of the article at Bengali islamic nationalism. I was going to move it to the correct capitalization, but I saw there was a draft there, so I wanted to get your thoughts on what would be best to do first. I was just categorizing the page and then noticed some copy-edits; I'm not experienced with dealing with new pages.
Thanks! SomeoneDreaming (talk) 18:57, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia already has pages like 'Bengali nationalism,' 'Bangladeshi nationalism,' and 'Islam in Bangladesh.' I believe that Bengali Islamic nationalism is merely a subset of these topics, which could lead to its content being merged into existing articles rather than justifying a new one. It fails to avoid redundancy with related topics. Many sources discuss 'Bangladeshi nationalism' or 'Islam in Bangladesh' without isolating this specific framework, which could challenge its notability under Wikipedia’s guidelines. So, instead of correcting the capitalization, consider submitting it to an AfD. Charlie (talk) 05:55, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
