Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (January 7)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Dan arndt was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Fails the requirements of WP:NPOLITICIAN. Wikipedia doesn't support the posting of aspiring candidate's profiles - WP:SELFPROMOTION.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at User:Cameronwise/sandbox. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Dan arndt (talk) 04:51, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dan arndt, thank you for your prompt responses, it is greatly appreciated. With respect to the above, I can confirm that I am not the person the profile is written about. Is there a way I can confirm this with wiki? For clarity, my name is Cameron Wise and the profile is for a gentleman names James Brown.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you soon
Kind regards,

Hello Cameronwise. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cameronwise. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cameronwise|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 07:01, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Bonadea
I can confirm I am not being paid to write this wikipedia submission. However, I am submitting this about a person whom I know. As such I will use the template you have provided. Thanks again as this is all new to me and also a little difficult to navigate Cameronwise (talk) 22:12, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again @Bonadea
After rereading your message I see that I do not need to use the {{Paid}} template after all. Is there anywhere other than here that I need to state that I know the person but am not being paid by them? Cameronwise (talk) 22:15, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Cameronwise. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page User:Cameronwise/sandbox, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Dan arndt (talk) 04:52, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (January 8)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Bonadea was:

If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Resubmitted without addressing the reasons it was declined. This draft does not show that the person is notable, and that doesn't change by changing the short description or calling him"community leader" instead of "politician".
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
