Does anyone know if there is a way to use the {{#if}} to hide table cells by default and then add then back with a value.
This is the table I created

I'm looking to use a function to defaultly hide the PLAYOFF header and the columns beneath it when I use the {{#ifeq:{{{playoffs|}}}|yes| <PLAYOFF HEADER> }}}

There is no need to add the minor league free agents to the NHL rosters. These players should be listed in the AHL team roster that they played for in the previous year. I understand the difference between NHL and AHL signings. Although they have NHL contracts, the players you are adding are almost definitely going to remain in the AHL except in the case of emergency callups.

My point is that the pages you are editing are roster pages, not lists of free agents or lists of contracts. I know you referenced a list of free agents, but that doesn't mean that's the information that should be posted on a roster page. It should reflect the roster of players that play for that team. I don't know what exactly happened, but the color for all of the games in the results section of the 2012-13 Boston Bruins season are now black and most of the text is unreadable, at least on my computer. I think I've fixed the issue. I reverted the coloring of the games back to the old scheme as the games were all highlighted in pitch-black otherwise. However, as I know you are trying to fix the color schemes of the box headers to be uniform, I would like to inform you that the 2007-08 through 2011-12 seasons for the Boston Bruins still have the old header color schemes in their results headers (earlier seasons use an entirely different format). I didn't think changing the color code to three digit colors would've made them black on some browsers. That's weird, maybe I forgot a # sign. I understand that other seasons may be different but I was looking for uniformity between teams this season. I absolutely hate sometimes looking at team season pages that look completely different than another when in my mind they should all be the same format. I understand your point of view here. I personally preferred the old look for Bruins result table headers, the new ones are quite dull in my opinion, but I can see why there would also be a desire for uniformnity. As before, I understand that the guideboxes at the bottom of the page need to be a certain way but I think that coloring the headers of the results and statboxes gives a little flavor of the team to the page. Additionally, if we are truly looking for uniformnity, the content in each results box for every team should be edited to look the same way. Every team uses a different results box format and it is annoying to compare teams from the same season at times. I understand that the color changes were made to match the templates, but why was the game log format changed? Is this meant to be some sort of new WT:Hockey consensus that was reached? Changed the content back, sorry to have possibly upset you or anyone else who may edit that page. The main goal of my change was to change them to NAV head and frames as they look cleaner than the alternative and to change the content tables to wikitables to restore the gridlines making it easier to read for some. Firstly, I read your previous post when someone questioned you on the Bruins page and I agree that there should be uniformity amongst all the game logs, however, I also believe that we, the editors, should all come to an agreement on a uniform format instead of having one automatically instituted without being asked for our opinions. I was digging around the other templates from the MLB and NFL and found out they have a template for game logs so I tested one out and came up with a rough draft to try to take to WP:HOCKEY. Would you mind looking at it if you and give me any feedback so maybe we can try to get a format generated using a template to ensure it stays uniform?

I think it looks pretty good. Just a few things. I think we should add decision (goaltender for team with win or loss) to the log. I do not think adding both the winning and losing goaltender to the log is necessary, and that often causes the text to wrap. Additionally, I question whether or not time is necessary. Also, I think we should add a column for stating if a game was decided in overtime of a shootout. Finally, what is the planned color format for the headers? Hi, I'm wondering why you decided to move away from the colour red to purple for losses in the game log. Did anyone approve this change? It's always been red and should remain as such. These three players are on Injured Reserve. The last game's line up. As you know, only 20 players & 3 scratches are allow (23-man roster and all) and those three do not appear on the game roster. The Isles website is not a reliable source for listing captains & alternates nor players on injured reserve. [1] Tim Thomas is on the suspended list, so I do not know how that applies to WP. Your recent edit to Ron Duguay, while it improved the formatting of the stats table, also removed data, specifically the playoff stats when he played for Sudbury. I noticed that you created Template:1994 NL Wild Card standings using Template:MLB standings. In the discussion we had regarding the creation of Template:MLB standings, we had agreed there wasn't much point in changing the standings for previous years, and so I only implemented support for the current wild-card format. Thus using this template for seasons prior to 2012 yields inaccurate wild-card standings. I don't know the history, but since you introduced the new template, I suggest you could use the subst: syntax to include the output of Template:MLB standings for the wild-card standings table within Template:1994 NL Wild Card standings — that is, use {{subst:Template:MLB standings}} — and then modify the table to have the correct games behind info and header row. isaacl (talk) 04:41, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you put subst: in front of the template name, then instead of including the contents of the template on the fly, the WikiMedia software will pull in the contents as they appear at the moment when you save the page. The changes you are making to the standings template are causing issues because the New York Giants in the pre-1958 templates is now linking to the football team instead of the baseball team. There is currently a discussion going on WP:ICEHOCKEY about the current (or now former) transactions format on the pages. Seeing as how you created possibly the best example so far back in 2013 for the Penguins, I would like to hear your input on a potential new format I am proposing similar to what you created back in 2013. It would maintain the format as is used in the free agency acquisitions and departures however it would include all acquisitions and departures (omitting trades) while simply adding another row specifying the action in which they joined or left the team. I would also like to change the contract details to specify the average annual value of the contract other than the total salary of the contract which is not relative to the annual average value do to bonuses and other details. I will be implementing my proposed design on the 2018-19 Columbus Blue Jackets season page and will notify you when I have completed to gather your thoughts. Thank you.
