Playcast Media SystemsI have no idea if this is posted in the right place. I am new to Wikipedia and I would appreciate some more detailed comment as to why my first submission - Playcast Media Systems - was not acceptable. I've tried to keep it brief and backed up as much as possible with relevant sources/references, never expanding on anything other than was listed on these websites. I would very much appreciate your assistance on this, outlining what I need to do to get it accepted as your Talk was not very detailed and I was unsure. WP:USPP assessmentsHi Alpha Quadrant, just wanted to check in on your state w/r/t the article assessments for the Public Policy Initiative -- are you still interested in helping out? I have another round ready to go, but I still could really use some help on the last two if you have time. The second half of Round 1 is here and Round 2 is here. For the second one, we opened it up for you to choose from a list of articles. We need at least three reviews of each article, so please choose to review articles that have only one or two reviews done so far. Having spent over a hundred hours since Reddy's permission to condense his original article for Wikipedia and make it public domain, I'm really determined to get this right. It was easy to establish notability and verifiability, but the neutrality part was a tough one. I edited out large amounts of text in the original as I was rewriting because of things that seemed like assertions rather than facts. I'd like some sense of how radical or subtle my changes must be in order to get a reasonable submission. At least know that I'm sufficiently proud of the article's condensation that I'd be willing to hang it out there as is and let other editors (and myself, of course) hack away at it. Nevertheless, I won't be discouraged if you feel something major is required to get it right. I realize your time is at a premium and your message back could be brief, but some feedback and guidance would be very much valued. I'm determined to help make Wikipedia better, even if it's only correcting people's grammar, spelling and style, my expertise. No matter what happens, thanks for all you do. Macrocarpum laws of astronomyI notice you removed the PROD and I've now taken it to AfD if you wish to comment. Your reason for removing the PROD was that "76.66.194.128 did a good job of cleaning up the article". That's as maybe but the PROD concern was the article was original research and this was not addressed at all. --Pontificalibus (talk) 09:59, 30 November 2010 (UTC) Conversation with User:Dusti about WP:BLPPRODHi, I started a conversation with User:Dusti on his talk page about his use of the BLPPROD process. He has said on my talk page that you looked over his edits and said there was nothing wrong with the BLPPROD tags he placed. If that is the case, I want to convince you that they were not a correct use of the BLPPROD process. Specifically, of the four articles I was referring to, one wasn't even a biography, two had sources, and one was about a person who was dead. Of those articles, one clearly should have been deleted, and another two I think might be on non-notable people. However, they clearly aren't eligible for deletion by BLPPROD, as that process only applies to biographies of living people that have no sources. I'm not saying that it was wrong to nominate the articles for deletion, only that BLPPROD was not the right process to use. If you do agree with me on this, could you perhaps talk to User:Dusti about it, as he seems to trust your opinion. Thanks for looking at this page so quickly. What I'm wondering is this: The link at the bottom is to the site itself. A glance at the site makes clear that the political stance is as I describe. The Information I provide is based on their information. As for notability, how does one establish notability for a counter-culture site? This is a question that has been puzzling me for some time. I'm prepared to accept that it doesn't come above the line, but, you know, nobody would have mentioned City Lights Bookshop for at least 10 years if they had wikipedia back then. At what point do we decide that this is something too insignificant to provide information about? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Treeinthebog (talk • contribs) 14:53, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Students in my class adding enhancements and new entriesHi! I teach computer science at Virginia Tech. This semester I asked teams of students in a class on information retrieval to make some additions to wikipedia, or to enhance existing entries. Some of them had a great deal of difficulty. Is there an easy way to aid them, for example a list of tutorial pages? One group made an entry but it never successfully was added. It can be seen at: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:TREC_EVAL_Program&oldid=401728115 I'm not sure what to do so it can become a proper entry. Can you help? Artice for creation - Frontier EconomicsHi Alpha Quadrant, thanks for reviewing my article and for your useful comment. Please note that this is the third version of the article and I tried to make it sound as neutral as possible, without breaking the notability condition of course. I also looked at other similar articles, such as NERA or McKinsey, and I don't feel that my article is in any way more 'advertising-like'. Anyway, based on your latest comment, I took it a step further in terms of neutrality and I have deleted the information about Frontier Economics being one of the top 10 economic consultancies. This is the only information in my article that can possibly be regarded as advertising. I do not see any additional ways how to improve the article at this stage. I hope this makes the article more neutral and resolves all your concerns. Please let me know if you have any additional comments or suggestions. Thanks a lot!Macgorky (talk) 10:33, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

If you are still interested we will be starting more rounds of assessments in the new year. I am the research analyst for the project, feel free to contact me.
