I have added references to the Aussie Rules in Iceland page but would like to point out that worldfootynews is a reliable source and most likely the best on the topic of australian rules football outside of Australia and is used as references on other wikipedia entries dealing with the subject (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_rules_football_in_the_Americas). I have fixed the image copyright status. Please add {{Non-free use rationale}} to each of the images and fill it out. According to the deletion reason, the images are replaceable with free images or photographs. The company owns the images that were deleted. So the only way they could be used under fair use would be if there were no free license images available, and impossible to create a free alternative. Company logos can be used under fair use because it is not possible to create a free alternative, but photographs of products can not be used under fair use. If you create a free image you can upload it. If you would like live assistance with uploading you can access the wikipedia help channel here. Actually I wasn't really referring to any particular editor. Quite a few participants are doing this because of the recent backlog. The only submission that you have declined that I put on hold was Software Shelf. Which appears Chzz also disagreed with me about the hold and declined, so I guess I was wrong anyway. I was more trying to say that quite a few editors, including Chzz, are doing it. Declining after 2 hours on hold. I was using Software Self as a example of it. Hello again, I'm wondering if it's possible to remove a party from the mediation? User: The Artist AKA Mr Anonymous has repeatedly stated his refusal to participate but has not noted this on the mediation page. I believe the mediation does not require all of the participants to opt in to the mediation. If everyone else agrees it will likely proceed. Please note I am not on the Mediation Committee so I don't know exactly how they will handle this. I'll try talking to User: The Artist AKA Mr Anonymous first. Maybe I can convince him. Hi AlphaQuadrant, thank you for assessing articles in the Wikiproject: United States Public Policy. This project is probably different than other assessment drives you have worked on, it involves more assessment of lower ranked articles, it has input and staff from the foundation, and specific goals to improve and measure content of public policy articles. It also involves collaboration from some university classes, we are using an experimental assessment rubric, and most articles will be assessed by multiple reviewers to get a range of scores for each article. I have learned a lot from many of the assessors' comments and am really excited about the insight from this group of Wikipedians. I hope you are finding some benefits to involvement in this project. 1) your assessments are part of research that is attempting to increase credibility of Wikipedia in academic circles, 2) there is a great group of assessors involved in discussion of what is article quality and how to measure it, 3) WP:USPP is also piloting the Article Feedback tool, so if interested, those involved in assessment on the project will be asked to help improve and rate this tool as well, and 4) subject matter experts are assessing articles alongside Wikipedians and comparisons of results will provide some insight as to the rigor of Wikipedia quality rating.

To give you an update on assessment, about half of the assessments are complete for the first part of this first assessment. I had some trouble finding public policy experts to join us in assessing, but finally managed to recruit a group last week, hopefully some of them will join the discussion on the assessment talk page. Next week, I should have some preliminary results to share with you, I will also post the second assessment request very soon. The discussion on the talk page is very exciting, and I hope if you are interested, you will provide input on the Article Feedback Tool which is being piloted on articles in WP:USPP. Please let me know if there is anything I and the project team can do to make working on this project a more positive experience. You recently posted the following statement on the Admin noticeboard: "Custom summaries can be used with rollback. This script, importScript('User:Gracenotes/rollback.js'); added to your monobook.js file allows you to rollback a edit with a custom summary." I hate the fact that it isn't easy to put in an edit summary when doing a rollback. I don't use any of the gadgets (although I keep thinking about doing so), so, unless it's clear vandalism, I either rollback manually (edit an earlier version and save it), or I don't rollback at all. Anyway, what exactly do I do to use the script you mention? I don't even know what monobook.js is. (talk page stalker) Bbb23, monobook is a skin; it used to be the default skin, but it's been changed to vector. If you haven't heard of monobook, you're probably using vector. You should be able to use the script by adding importScript('User:Gracenotes/rollback.js'); to User:Bbb23/vector.js. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 13:36, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

The script is really nice, when you click the "sum" link it opens a box for a edit summary. When you click the ok button it performs the rollback in the same amount of time as the standard rollback. --Alpha Quadrant ^talk 13:54, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Great. At some point, I'll probably force myself to use a gadget that also automates the process of warning the editor. I warn manually now - unfortunately, not always - and it would be nice to have an easier way to do it. I'm sure that the users who vandalize don't pay any attention, but if nothing else it creates a record. I actually prefer warnings to users who make unconstructive or inappropriate edits that aren't vandalism because there may be some real educational value in those instances.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:02, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Have you considered using Twinkle? When you use one of twinkle's rollback features (AGF, regular, or vandalism), it'll do the rollback, give the option of an edit summary if it was AGF or regular rollback, and then automatically open the talk page of the user you rolled back. You then have the twinkle 'warn' tag which will let you easily select an appropriate warning template. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 15:36, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes, that was my intention when I referred to forcing myself to use a gadget. I just have to look at the documentation, install it, and use it. I've been procrastinating.

I have a question on the script, though. I've now used it a couple of times. It allows me to add the edit summary, which is great, but then the edit summary no longer contains the usual rollback text about reverting changes of user. Can't I get both?--Bbb23 (talk) 01:37, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

If you add this to the same place you put the script it will add the standard rollback message, and you can add to it when you use the "sum" button.

Okay, I've done that, and now I'm even more confused. I wouldn't think the addition of a comment would do anything at all. However, I tried it on my sandbox after making two changes. The script is now working as it did initially, meaning it rolled back both changes but did not use the rollback language. See here. As an aside, you don't have to go to the trouble of putting a talkback template on my Talk page. I'm watching your page. Also, if at any point you feel like giving up, that's fine. Ok, I tested to make sure the settings worked in the vector.js skin [1] and it did. Have you tried bypassing the web page cache, if the page is cached then the script settings wouldn't have changed. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer there are often issues with script settings because the browser doesn't fully support scripts. There is a setting in user preferences that fixes the Internet Explorer issue. I hope this resolves the issue for you. --Alpha Quadrant ^talk 15:19, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I think we've finally resolved it. I use Firefox. However, I cleared all my cache, and the script now works properly (it populates the text box with the variables and then I add my comment at the end). Just so you know, the script comment at the top is in fact irrelevant (I've removed it and tested to confirm). It was the cache that was the problem. Thanks for your great advice and edits! I have (hopefully) fixed what was incomplete and unacceptable in my article and have made the changes and am ready for resubmission. However, I dont want to resubmit without an opinion that the article "looks fine or good" from a Wiki PRO like you!

Can you please tell me how I can get the "revised article" reviewed by an expert before I resubmit so I dont have to worry about it being declined again?

Ok, I have added new comments and toned down the article. There are a couple things that need fixing.

1. The sources need to be WP:CITED, for step by step instructions see WP:AFCRE.
2. The media appearances section needs to be in complete sentences.
3. The article needs to be written in Neutral point of view.

THANKS so much for your help! -- I did fix the items you asked for and resubmitted it -- it was put on hold so that i could fix my inline refs which I did -- BUT now the person kind enough to originally review it has "taken a break from Wikipedia for a while" -- so, will someone else finally review it soon -- or do I need to request someone else so that it can be approved hopefully ?

There appears to be some serious WP:BITE-ing of newbs going on. You have been reverting and warning User:Evaporation Expert for vandalism, when all he appeares to be doing is being confused by Wikipedia's image uploading protocols. You even removed a valid question from WP:MCQ which is the exact place he is told to ask questions if he needs help! But Wikipedia has a high learning curve, and understanding when its vandalism, and when it is just a newb screwing things up, is important, as we don't want to scare away our future FA writers. Hi there Alpha Quadrant! You may be wondering, what have I done to sound the alarm this time? Nothing. I'm messaging you in regards to the adopt-a-user program, which currently has a backlog of users wishing to be adopted. This doesn't make much sense, as we have a considerable list of users offer adoption, so there shouldn't be any backlog. I've begun to eliminate this backlog myself through a matching program, but I need your help to make it work. Of course, adoptees and adopters don't have to go through there, but I believe it helps eliminate the backlog because someone is actively matching pairs.

On the list of adopters, I have modified the middle column to say "Interests." It's easier working with other users that have similar interests, so if it's not too much to ask, could you add your interests in the middle column? For example, if I was interested in hurricanes, computers, business, and ... reptiles? I would place those in the middle column. Counter-vandalism and the like can also be included (maintenance should be used as the general term). The more interests, the better, since adoptees can learn more about you and choose the one they feel most comfortable working with. The information about when you're most active and other stuff can go into the "Notes" section to the right.

Finally, I've gone around and asked adoptees (and will in the future) to fill in a short survey so adopters can take the initiative and contact users they feel comfortable working with. We all know that most adoptees just place the adopt me template on their user page and leave it - so it's up to us to approach them and offer adoption. So, please take a look at the survey, adopt those that fit your interests, and maybe watchlist it so you can see the interests of adoptees and adopt one that fits your interests in the future.

Alpha Quadrant, the only way I found to do a custom date was to actually make it part of my signature. The forth tilde is what appends the date to your signature. So when I sign my name, I only use three tildes, but I include the date as part of my signature. So here is my custom signature:

Its a really really good idea not to relist something and nominate it for rescue at the same time. There are many editors, not necessarily myself, who feel that listing stuff for rescue is a subtle form of canvassing keep votes and the juxtaposition of the relist and the listing has the potential for causing unnecessary drama - its not like we don't already have oodles of the stuff. Relisting is an assessment of the consensus so should not be associated with an act that many users consider partisan. I am sure that this isn't the case but its best to avoid giving that impression. For your information I overturned and deleted your relist of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Soccer Matrix as, once the ILIKEIT and OTHERSTUFF votes there remained the basic problem of an unsourced article that the keep side hadn't sourced. Hey, your bot deleted my alterations to an article for vandalism. I can honestly say I was not trying to vandalise anything on the Eve Online page, and after reviewing all available articles, I found that I had been duplicating information, so in the end it's all good. But perhaps, not listing a change as vandalism when it was just an effort to try to be helpful would be nice, of course if I was incorrect in my form or the content I included, I do apologize. Just a little disconcerting to get a message saying essentially, "you're a vandal," when you're studying. Any suggestions so that I do not make a similar mistake in the future would be greatly appreciated as I am brand new to Wikipedia in this capacity. A Bot? I don't use or operate a bot. The edit you made was not written in a WP:Neutral Point of View and appeared to be advertising for a website. So I reverted it. The antivandalism program uses the standard warning template. The warning template says the edit appeared inappropriate and was reverted. It does not accuse you of being a vandal. Ok, I have a few suggestions for improving the article.

1. The history and operations sections needs expansion. Example: When the company was started, important events that occurred throughout it's history, any major expansions. References would need to be found to support information added. See WP:RS for instructions on how to figure out what sources are considered reliable.
2. A infobox should be added. Particularly {{Infobox company}}. The fields of the infobox would then need to be filled in.

Hi Alpha Quadrant,

Please look at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anesthesiologist&action=history, where you reverted a single edit by an anonymous IP vandal (using your alternate account). However, you failed to revert the previous 4 edits by the same IP vandal, which had deleted a substantial fraction of the article. In effect, by reverting only his last edit, you placed your stamp of approval on the IP vandal's previous deletions in that article, since other editors would no longer see that page as recently-vandalized. That is not good. I do not have the time to check your lengthy recent edit history for other instances where you may have done the same thing, so I don't know if this is an isolated mistake on your part, or a frequent one.

Please be more careful in the future, and make sure to check the article history to ensure that you are reverting to the last non-vandalized version. Especially when using automated tools such as STiki to do hundreds or thousands of reversions. Since you have rollbacker rights on both of your accounts, it should be easy for you to fully revert multi-edit vandalism, and by having those rights you have a greater responsibility to do so properly.

On the more carefully side I note that I have looked at your reverting of an edit by User:68.98.219.178 to the article Crow at 18:21:50 hours on the 26th of October 2010. You referred to the reverted edit as vandalism. I think that the edit was poor, but it was backed up by the cited source. It was not vandalism. I thank you for your great efforts in fighting vandalism. Wikipedia would hard pressed to find a way to survive without many effective vandal fighters. Hello Cbrep, welcome to Wikipedia. You have a good article written, it just needs third party sources. http://www.oregonlive.com/pilots/index.ssf/2009/01/ruders_smeulders_story.html is a reliable third party news source. The news source is not affiliated, or working for the basketball player or his basketball team. Finding trusted news sources are usually the best for articles on athletes. This might help you find some good sources Google News and Google News Archives. I noticed some of the sources are in German. It is ok to use those, but please write (German), then the source information. For example this French article on the French Wikipedia citing a English source: [3] the (en) suffix is used to denote English sources. Hi there, please be careful about labelling edits as vandalism when you revert them. I really don't agree that this edit for example is blatant vandalism. Looks like the editor was trying to make the article more neutral. Hello AK IM OP, your article is still here. It is located at Korsakov Andrey. It takes the Wikipedia Search engine up to three hours for a page to be indexed for it to show up in search results. The article doesn't qualify for speedy deletion and is fairly well sourced so I don't think there is much of a risk for deletion. Many thanks for taking the time to look at my proposed article on the 'Roll of the Peerage'. I am a bit baffled though by your reasons for putting it on hold: "We cannot accept unsourced suggestions or sources that are not reliable per the verifiability policy. Please provide reputable, third-party sources with your suggestions. Third party sources are needed both to establish the verifiability of the submission as well as its notability." The article, though brief, is quite heavily footnoted with references to UK primary legislation (specifically one statute and a Royal Warrant), the London Gazette (an official government publication) and the website of a UK Crown authority. As for notability, the subject is a UK Public Record of sufficient significance to have been created by primary legislation under the Royal Prerogative.
